Angel's new voice just puts into perspective how much WORK Michael was putting into his old voice, because every time I heard him speak in episode 1 I wanted to kill him. Not just because his literal every line is a shitty sex joke, but I swear he sounds genuinely grating to listen to? By the end of the episode I think I'd have preferred the VA just speak in his natural voice, because you can just tell he can't do the "angel" one that well.

Yeah, I noticed that too it didn't show or mention of Adam eating the fruit. That could explain it, though it still doesn't make sense why he's an angel.

I don't know, and I honestly care. There's so many storylines being introduced in the first two episodes when it should really focus on the original premise of redeeming sinners, and then sprinkle in these other plots later. You can't get invested in what's going on, and it doesn't help that most of the cast is either bland, annoying, or a mixture of both.

The only characters that interest me now are Vox and Nifty (mostly for the comedy), but I'm sure they'll be ruined later on. Oh well. At least KeeKee won't be harmed.

Maybe I just have weird standards but I actually really enjoyed it. Yeah some of the dialogue was iffy and the animation in some parts was...weird and I definitely much prefered some old voice actors like Kovach. But in general it did 't feel too different from what I expected and I feel like the quality is much higher than helluva boss in general (not that I disliked it). But you can feel that the budget is much higher.

But yeah I am worried some parts could get rushed. Lots of storylines to finish. But honestly the Alastor/Vox parts was a major highlight of the episode. Or every part with Vox in it.

That being said, I've watched the pilot many times, read the comics and external stuff etc. If I came in completely new, it makes it a bit jarring. But if you watch the pilot before this it really helps. Honestly they should just reaninate the pilot with the new va and change some stuff around as an "episode 0" that would help a lot.

Overall I am very much looking forward to watching the rest. And as someone who has seen actual trainwrecks like homestuck/hiveswap shenanigans, this is leagues ahead anything they could ever accomplish. Call me a Viv white knight but I feel like she gets way too much unecesssry hate. But she def needs to stop responsing to everything.

Episode 2 was definitely better than episode 1. But I found both to be solid like 8/10. But then again I've read homosuck like 5 times so my standards are a bit warped.

Well considering, among other things, that you need to watch the pilot just to know what's going on and how these people met each other, I don't think anything Viv makes will reach past a certain bubble of already dedicated fans and haters for an extended period of time, let alone reach the absolutely huge impact mlp and bronies had.
Closest she got was people making impsonas, and unlike bronies, they didn't make one for every piece of media ever, probably because there's only so much you can do with slightly different shades of red and black.

It has a canine body rather than a cat body and prances like a twiggy dog, not a slinky cat (at least in that shot). But being unable to draw/animate anything other than dogs/wolves is a key feature of stereotypical furry art.

To be fair with Harley Quinn, comics canon is a mess and the show is not even following the comics.

Having villain protagonists can work as long as the hero is not made to do worse things just to make the villain look less bad, which is an issue with the Hellverse especially when Viv has a tendency to oversanitize every character just to make them precious woobie characters

I would’ve agreed with you before knowing what I do now, but after all I’ve learned about Viv and everything that’s come out about her from ex-SpindleHorse employees, she certainly deserves a lot of the hate she gets. Viv is a spoiled rich girl who wants everything to be about her, steals other people's ideas, mocks other indie animation, and will fire people simply if she doesn’t like them, amongst other things. She’s basically Regina George from Mean Girls.

This is a textbook fujoshi play so I also agree with this. Fujos love shipping the obvious main female love interest with some other random female character that she maybe spoke to once to get her out of the way of the precious yaoi.
