Weird products and useless inventions at CES 2024 - YOUR FRIDGE NEEDS AI. YOUR TOILET NEEDS AI. YOUR DOOR NEEDS AI.

Eureka announces the Dual Washing Bot, which is actually a good idea. A combo washing machine/dryer, with a small cleaning robot that lives in the bottom of it.
Washer/dryer combos have been a thing in Europe for a long time. The load size is way smaller than 'murican machines and they also have much slower cycles to conserve energy or something. I'm not really impressed by that photo because the machine looks rather small. If they start making W/D combos with large capacity, and that can work just as fast as the machines Americans are used to that would be great.

Yeah, same here. Adding one of the vacuum/mop robots to it's an interesting idea though.

Heat pump appliances will always be terrible compared to versions North America is especially used to. By absolutely zero metrics are they better than a traditional washer/dryer so of course the EPA and associated agencies are pushing for them. They can also be ran off 110 so it will only get worse.

  1. AI-powered Birding Binoculars: Swarovski introduced a pricey pair of binoculars that can identify over 9,000 birds and other species using AI, also capable of capturing photos and videos.
  2. Flush App: This web-based application allows businesses to rent out their bathrooms, equipped with a rating system for reservations.
  3. BlackBerry-style Keyboard for iPhones: Clicks Technology revealed a keyboard attachment for iPhones, reminiscent of older BlackBerry devices.
  4. Dynamic Sound Mixing for Cars: Sound Drive, a startup from Will.i.am, showcased technology that matches your driving cadence and energy with music, altering lyrics based on your speed.
  5. Art-Like Router: GL.iNet's router is designed to blend with home decor, resembling a framed piece of art.
  6. LG's AI Assistant Robot: LG's two-legged wheeled robot can interact with LG appliances, show empathy, and even call 911 in emergencies.
  7. Voice Command Bidet: Kohler introduced a bidet with voice command support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
  8. Voice Absorbing Mask: Skyted’s masks are designed to absorb voice frequencies in noisy environments, aiming for privacy in public spaces and offices.
That last one actually sounds pretty cool, would love a way to get rid of the general public.

...I didn't hear about Flush App until now, but...

A new venture launching at CES 2024, Flush, wants to do just that — renting out restrooms to customers across cafés, restaurants, hotels and other high-traffic areas. USC computer science graduate Elle Szabo founded Flush after frustrating experiences trying to find public restrooms while on a diuretic medication.

Flush is a double-sided marketplace for bathrooms, basically. Business owners can put their bathrooms up for rent, priced at a maximum of $10, and users can find and book available bathrooms through Flush’s web-based app.

“By using Flush, a coffee shop or café can create an additional revenue stream without increasing overhead,” Szabo said. “On top of the added revenue stream, Flush provides a unique means for attracting new customers without any extra marketing.”

So basically urban shit holes that have no public bathrooms due to illegals, junkies, hobos, and nogs, now will have pay for bathrooms like in Europe. Instead of an attendant it's an app.
Truly something that only a retarded urban bugman resident could come up with

I did some poking around on the #CES2024 tag on Twitter/X and found some stuff that I found amusing.

1. Handheld Atari console by MyArcade
It's a thing that plays 2600, 5200, and 7800 games. The controllers for those consoles are wildly different so if you look closely at the handheld you'll see a dial, d-pad, trackball, four buttons, and a phone keypad. It looks like a fucking nightmare. Also it's being made by MyArcade who in the past have peddled shitty handheld devices filled with bootleg NES games. I am certain this will be a hunk of crap when it releases.

2. Adam-X CPR/medical training dummy
This is a multi-purpose medical training dummy. It's main function appears to be for CPR training but it can simulate wounds, collapsed lungs, and a lot more. More alarmingly it has "working genitalia" and can piss blood? Also it looks like Andrew Tate lmao.

Can someone please pitch making a range with a stovetop that has some kind of ports that you can plug a thermometer into and it will automatically adjust the flame/electricity to maintain said temperature?

Asking for a friend who got VERY nervous maintaining the proper simmer to "boil" an $80 lobster over the holidays.

In case there’s any degree of sincerity: Induction cooktops have had digital temp settings for years. Your friend probably shouldn’t be trusted with others’ food.

IS YOUR PLANT BORING AND UNINTERESTING?!
DO YOU WISH IT COULD... DANCE?!

Good news, PlantPetz has invented the smart plant pot!
Simply put your boring plant in it and insert the sensors, and the pot will rotate in different ways as your plant jiggles and dances!

And it also makes little sounds!

Lenovo showed concepts for alternatively powered keyboards and mice, namely a solar powered keyboard and a hand cranked mouse.

One By One Music has shown off AI generated downtempo music for dogs, reducing it's stress by 84%.

I kinda like this, especially for the moisture sensor, it's an cute expensive gimmick with some utility in it. Just wondering if your flower will send your info to the FBI (Flower Bloom Investigators)
