Cecil's channel is definitely solid - her series detailing Kero the Wolf and his ilk is pretty comprehensive, so I can vouch for the quality.

To enter the Army through enlistment like he did there are two phases of training: Basic Combat Training (BCT) which is a preliminary requirement for all who enlist, and takes place only at four Forts (currently) - he went to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. This is the stereotypical boot camp people see in movies. Pretty strict, with no phones, and you can pretty much only communicate out through letters. The unit he went through BCT with, and bought his BCT shirt from, proves that he probably graduated BCT. Then there is Advanced Individual Training (AIT) which is more techincal, and develops a soldier's skill for what he'll do in the Army. He says he went to Arizona, probably Ft. Huachuca, which is the usual AIT station for intel or other computer guys. All of those jobs have long training times, and they are more lenient of phone policy than others. He could have seen her after he graduate BCT, where he would have gone home for a certain amount of time to wait for an AIT unit to have enough spaces to pick him up. Unfortunately, we don't know if he was in the National Guard either, in which case after AIT he would have gone home regardless, and would only have to report roughly once a month for duty.
It’s gonna take a lot to get Mutahar to turn on his boy, you have to remember him and Max ARE friends, but it’s getting to the point where he might say fuck you and distance himself more from Max. Charlie already has a bad taste in his mouth but at the same time I feel like he doesn’t care enough until something big happens. Charlie, as much as I dislike his content, isn’t a small fish in the YouTube scene in general he’s up there in popularity to the point where I sometimes see people watching his videos in public.

You forget holidays. If your BCT is on the same time-frame as Thanksgiving for example, you can go home for a bit but with certain restrictions such as you can't drive.

Witnessing the transformation of the subreddit in real time was rather spectacular. It seems that they've all made up their minds and have turned against him in full at last. There's a couple of posts over there speculating that Max may be stalking the sub, so I wonder if their change in opinion's making him squirm.
