He said that he got pneumonia and later generalized edema.
Pneumonia would require xrays to properly diagnose, so it all depends on how well equipped the penitentiary and hospitals. Also considering the amount of Ukrainian casualties, there's a chance there would be programming queues if not a real emergency. The edema could just be his failing heart&kidneys. He was a chain smoker I believe and looked like he chronically disregarded his health. Took a look at some of his pics and there is some puffiness in the face and underneath the eyes, but it's hard to say how much of it is water retention and how much just fat. Pneumonias that are allowed to develop can easily lead to multiple organs failing, sepsis, death. Infections like these are rather common in the frail and old and are generally culling them quite efficiently.
Of course being imprisoned in maybe less than ideal conditions would just add to the stress on his health rather tremendously.

Sort of. Russians have been attacking 3 points in particular; Kupiansk, Avdiivka, and the Krynky beachhead. They have failed in taking these while incurring horrifically high casualties. At the same time, Russia is receiving an ever increasing amount of Nork artillery and missiles and Iranian loitering attack drones. Hungary's Orban and US Republicans have continued to block aid to Ukraine. UK and Germany are helping Ukraine the most right now. Ukraine is also getting Dutch F18s soonish.

I've posted ad-infinitium about A-10 being the wrong platform for Ukraine, unless Ukraine is somehow able to gain air-parity with Russia or Russia removes (or has removed) any SAMs more advanced than the SA-2. For a modern jet, and I emphasize we're grading on a scale here, so again For a modern jet its slow, its clumsy, and its main strengths - the ability to loiter over a target and the ability to soak hits from anti-air guns - doesn't matter in the current combat environment.
(Now if you could shut down the Russian airforce for a few hours, turning some A-10s loose on the russian fortifications would really do a number.)

The only real thing the A-10 would give Ukraine would native NATO weapon integrations, but even then the avionics on the A-10 are older and there a tons of better craft; i.e. Mirage 3000s would give Ukraine NATO-bombs on a platform that is 3-4x the speed and much better maneuverability.

In the immediate/short term, they'd be much better served by the Grippen than any current US aircraft. In the long term if it comes to that, Ukraine would be fine with the F-16 since as discussed, once Ukrainian pilots start getting trained it is more than capable of Wild Weasel operation.

Basically the A-10 is what you give Ukraine at end of the SMO to smash the last dug in hold outs, not now while the Russian airforce still has missles.

If the Ukrainians are still using their Su-25s to lob unguided missiles as improvised rocket artillery, then yes, the A-10 can still play such a similar role and more.

(Now if you could shut down the Russian airforce for a few hours, turning some A-10s loose on the russian fortifications would really do a number.)

So it's still worth giving Ukraine A-10s and training their pilots on them, so that they are ready to use them for any such limited windows of opportunity when they may arise.

Such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder, which could have easily been used to hit KA-52s when they destroying Bradleys and Leopards last summer.
