This is something I absolutely agree with. We cannot expect every fish to be amazing and a content driver on their own, but at the start of the season we had content drivers who appealed to different types of viewers. On top of that, the fish of season two who didn’t drive content such as Tayleigh, Shinji, Trish, Brian, and TJ were able to bounce off of the content made by Summer, Cole, and Jimmy. When JC stole chips the other fish by extension were involved in a narrative and had to produce content. When Cole pissed everyone in the house off even the fish who weren’t known to produce content kept the audience engaged with the first group session by dogpiling him and being apart of that narrative.
The problem is the moment these content drivers are driven away the remaining fish no longer have a purpose or somebody to bounce off of. Imagine if you were to remove Letty from the latter half of season one. Vance goes from being a scheming antagonist to a boring guy. Sylvia is no longer even thought about. Josie would somehow even have less purpose. Production wasn’t stupid and knew Letty was a vital content driver so they purposely kept her on the show for as long as possible, even convincing her multiple times to stay when she wanted to quit.
This concept was seemingly avoided during this season. And what resulted was the remaining fish being content passengers, or fish who require content drivers to produce interesting content. These remaining fish aren’t “bad” and have their place in the Fishtank content hierarchy, they just struggle to make content without heavy guidance. Production introducing the amount of freeloaders they have is like bringing in artificial content drivers to make the fish do something.
The season two cast was fantastic and in my opinion exceeded season one’s. The problem is a combination of weakness, over reliance, production mistakes, and a fast burn pace made every single content driver leave or get eliminated.

TTS tells Trish to give a more higher energy LETS GO...Trish doesn't do it. I complain about Tay being a wet blanket but Trish is just as bad. Every day it becomes harder and harder to support the dark horse of FishTank.

I could see 2 tiers of challenges, 7s and 10s: every day, 7 o'clock, am and pm, an appetizer open challenge. Fish can sleep in if they want to or take advantage of less competition. Not sure how evening one goes. Then mandatory challenge, main course, at 10, am and pm... of course, any bonus event, mission or challenge can come up on top of that, but with something like that fish could time their days more (and their sabotage of other fish).

The show IS on the proper schedule. It runs effectively from 6pm-5am Eastern. Time shift this and its 3pm-2am Western. This is about as ideal a capture of the American audience as you can get. Given that the primary audience is going to be young adults it fits perfectly. The only thing I'd mandate is that cleaning activities only occur between 10am-4pm because its really annoying trying to hear two fish talk when someone is running a vacuum cleaner in the same room.

She was talking to Dunyay last night and mentioned that she was only staying the night. She said something about having a 5 hour trip to Connecticut so Sam/Jet offered to let her stay the night instead of having to leave late at night.

I think Jet is incompetent and can be arrogant but the hate he gets is overkill. I don't think I've ever once seen people say "Hey Jet that was a funny challenge good job!" he universally gets shit on and called a wigger no matter what. The nearest thing to positivity I've seen directed towards him is people saying JET IT UP in the fishtank.live chat. Also there is no one else who is going to agree to be in a basement nearly 24/7 for 6 weeks like that. Nick has a family and Sam has other projects going on. No one else is going to agree to do Jet's job.

Sometimes I wonder how much of the Jet hate should be directed at Sam or one of the other members of the production staff. Jet is an easy target because he tries to involve himself personally way too much and has zero charisma but I think a lot of the things people complain about (no planning, failed bits, bits that drag on for too long) may not be his fault entirely.

Jet gets so much shit especially here because he talked shit on KF users, so it triggers that very tribunal "US against Outsiders" mentality. Yeah he's made plenty of mistakes but anyone who thinks he'd get half the hate he gets now, if he didnt badmouth the sacred alter of KF is delusional.

Yeah, I think I made the right decision, @Aidan and @Lowercase I internet seem to have a good grip on what's going wrong with this show, I might hit you guys up closer to the end to see if there is anything worthwhile coming back to watch the end.
Unless Jet successfully drives off Tay and Shinji, literally nothing will get me back to watch a Trish vs TJ finale.
We on the other hand, largely disagree, but I do agree with this position. I definitely rag on Jet, and may have called for him to be executed, but I've also said they just need management and that's closer to my true belief. I like Fishtank, and I have to give Jet credit for having the determination to carry out a project like this, living a crazy life for 6 weeks. I think he needs to do it better, and to be fair I think Sam is also making bad decisions because of his personal preferences have interacted with the Fish. Bringing back Jimmy as a bit was a bad look, trying to blow up Jimmy to try and transfer his popularity to TJ was a big hail Mary, and trying stick with it after it flopped is what really disconnected me from the show. TJ is boring, TJ's growth arc has failed, and that's all Sam.
As bad as I think Jet is, Sam's bit is what drove me away. Honestly I think the show needs an Executive Director. Someone that's never on cams, never known, never directly interacts with the Fish, watches the community, and has a vote with Jet and Sam on what happens in the house/eliminations. Jet and Sam both clearly have preferences opposed to the fan base(Brian for Jet, TJ for Sam, I think Trish for both of them), and I think a more neutral view for what's best for the show would help.

I agree with this sentiment.
There is a lot of arrogance in Jet and Sam. They both seem to feel like they can do no wrong. I'm not sure Jet/Sam would go for this because it would compromise "their vision." This means that we'll still have the same problems until they get bored of the project or it fails spectacularly.
