What, I wondered, were this strapping lad’s options, so I googled and found something interesting. Both the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic have pages on what’s involved in FFS, and both present it as totes legit. Once you read the details however, the Mayo Clinic is much more realistic: it points out that FFS might break your facial bones deliberately, cause permanent nerve damage, require revisions, and still leave you unhappy. It also says

You'll also need a letter from a mental health provider stating that you meet World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care criteria for facial feminization surgery.

By contrast, Cleveland has a pretty picture of a patient, avoids icky talk of breaking bones, doesn’t mention nerve damage at all, just numbness (presumably nerve damage can be worse than that), and as for who can have it, well, as long as you’re over 18

Anyone can have feminizing facial surgery. As long as you’re healthy enough to have surgery, you can have FFS.

Cleveland clearly has a better idea of how to keep the patients rolling in.

I’m about 3 1/2 months post op stage 3. This is personally my last stage. I’ll list each stage and my surgeons below :

Stage 1- metoidioplaty (ie. Partial UL to neo phallus, Vaginectomy amd testicular implants) Stage 2- phallus creation and revision of left implant (It migrated into my mons region) Stage 3- glansplasty and lowering of phallus (it was too close to my belly button)

Surgeon for stage one was Dr. Miroslav in NYC and surgeon for stages two and three was Dr. Purohit in NYC.

Spoiler: Is it normal for peeing to sting like hell in the scrotum after testicular implants / scrotal lift?

I had small testicular implants placed / scrotal lift / phallus debulking performed on Friday. It’s 4:45 in the morning here. I’m waiting for my surgeon’s office to open to reach out because I’m not sure this is important enough to use the after hours number - which I already called Saturday about my extreme swelling / fluid buildup, and they weren’t concerned with it just wanted me to watch for bleeding.

I’m a little concerned because now alongside the swelling I’ve developed an extreme burning sensation in my scrotum when I pee. It’s the worst pain I’m feeling right now, and it’s leaving me concerned. Is this normal? Or is it possible that there’s a leak from my urethra to my scrotum that’s causing both the burning and the swelling?

I also was shaking a lot earlier, but I’m not sure if that was from the extreme pain or if I actually have a fever. The shaking has completely stopped now so I think I might be okay in that regard, it’s not uncommon for me to be super cold when I first wake up. Although I do feel warm now.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

If it matters, I don’t feel like I can take my pain meds rn (I took a fraction of a dose that’s it) because I’m supposed to take them with food, but I don’t feel like I can eat food because eating makes me feel like throwing up (this just started last night) - possibly because I haven’t shit since Friday morning, which is probably due to the drugs because I’m normally a very regular daily pooper. I also don’t feel like I can drink much to quench my thirst, because I don’t want to have to pee more since it hurts.

Update: their offices were closed this morning due to “weather” (ridiculous imo, it isn’t even snowing or anything - just cold) so I wasn’t able to go in. I was able to discuss with their clinical team though, and they still seem to think everything is fine and that there’s nothing to be worried about. Which helped me feel better - except now I’m bleeding from my urethra too. So I reached out again panicked, but still, they seem to think that’s fine.

I’m a bit confused on how it could be fine - my surgery wasn’t supposed to do anything to my urethra, it was just scrotal lift, testicular implants, and phallus debulking, I didn’t think my urethra was going to be touched. So why would there be blood? I’m still in contact with them over this issue. Currently waiting on another response.

I still have my appointment in office tomorrow morning, and have pushed back my flight/Airbnb to Wednesday so that I’m not leaving tomorrow.

Lets see:

• Swelling
• strong burning sensation when peeing
• pain
• shaking
• feels cold when waking up
• maybe fever
• hasn't shit since before surgery
• can't eat (and can't take pain meds as a result)
• nauseous
• scared to drink anything because she doesn't want to pee
• bleeding from fauxrethra

And the surgeon just tells her she's fine.

I've heard of the "ballsack" swelling and pain being caused by trapped urine before so it's definitely a possibility here.

Not really unfortunate, Down Syndrome can lead to a lot of suffering and basically guarantees being born with heart defects, suffering early onset dementia and makes them more likely to get certain forms of cancer. What they should do is fund mental health treatment for trannies and just stop covering the hormones and surgeries because they don't help.

If there's a risk of infection, why not to go to urgent care and get someone who will actually take it seriously instead of a hack who's incentivized to say you're fine? A lot of sexual health clinics test for UTIs and are trans affirming.

You had major genital surgery, they could have accidentally damaged your urethra or you have an infection.

How can you say you’re post op without saying you’re post op?

Since being post op from stage 1, I hate the idea of people who know I’m trans thinking I’m pre op. I’d like to think that my bulge would be enough to shut down anything otherwise, but I feel like it isn’t enough. I walk around with a decent bulge, yet have gotten comments from people who know I’m trans under the assumption that I am pre op.

I once got a comment from my SOs female friend asking how I went to the bathroom since the porta potty was out of toilet paper, my only response was “I just had to take a piss” under the assumption that she knows guys just shake it off, but she stared at me in bewilderment and didn’t say anything and that’s where the conversation ended. At times I wish I could go back and say “Hey I know you know I’m trans, but I’m actually post op and got a pretty nice dick I could piss from.”

Obviously these conversations aren’t really bound to happen and I can’t wear a shirt stating I have a penis, so for those who know I’m trans but aren’t close enough to me to know I had surgery or to converse about this, how can I ensure people don’t make emasculating assumptions about my genitals?

Specially, my wife’s whole family are under the impression that I am pre op and there is no instance where a conversation about this would feel appropriate. I wish I could just “forget” to close the bathroom door and have someone walk in on me taking a piss so they can run their mouth to the whole family about it. There’s also no way of my wife slipping anything into conversation.

I know I shouldn’t care and I have nothing to prove, but the idea of people thinking I’m pre op disturbs me a lot. Any ideas would be appreciated
