Ey man dont feel like we are just being assholes trying to stop you from doing what you wanna do. We are just here to let you know how things can play out so that you wont get caught with your pants down and then say "Why didnt you guys warn me!?"
As i said previously i wish you the best in the endeavor and who knows maybe it is the start of something good for the ff14 kiwis who will finally be able to play together as an FC and do Voidcast Dais while calling Golbez a Niggerfaggot in chat without getting reported.

I mean, a GM could still probably pull up the chatlogs from that instance to use against people for later. They've banned on flimsier premises, including for completely off-game speech.

I feel like FFXIV players have no idea what "complex" means and always assume that complex = more fun. Hardcore players love to say how easy the game is just because it's easy for them. Unless they are using all 36 buttons across 3 hotbars, double weaving between every GCD, and staggering their cooldowns in a random order they wont be happy. Sure on paper the game is not hard. The boss will always do the same thing every time, and as long as you stand in the right spot you'll never die. Your rotation is always set in stone and will always be the same thing every single time. In that sense sure the game's too easy because it can be played entirely through memorization, but making a pattern more complicated to memorize doesn't make a job complex it just makes it needlessly confusing to convince players with ego that they are the real gamers. It's like Dark Souls players trying to tell you that Dark Souls is actually for babies and the only way to really challenge yourself is blindfolded on a guitar hero controller.
Reaper is fun. It doesn't ask you to memorize a rotation that is counter intuitive. You can look at your skills and by reading it understand when you need to press your buttons and why. Sure you can double, even triple enshroud if you really wanted to but the difference isn't massive. I'm tired of dealing with button bloat jobs that only give you more busywork, and if you fuck up the order of your cooldowns nothing lines up anymore and your damage completely falls off. I just want to play something fun and I don't need to sweat during a dungeon or alliance raid to do it.
First impressions with the troon lion, you can clearly tell it's a man trying very hard to be a woman. They are struggling to emote properly while also maintaining their femboy voice and trying to do some stupid lion growl. It's serviceable I guess since XIV isn't exactly the gold standard in voice acting, but I literally can't see this character as anything other than a tranny even if the character is written to be an actual woman. This is the worst possible choice for a character who is meant to be extremely expressive and spunky. JP tend to choose voices that fit the character's personality better. It's more important their voice convey personality rather than matching their appearance. JP Wuk Lamat doesn't try to do any voice tricks and focuses on the emotion behind the words. Sadly we get stuck with the troon who is trying to juggle all these tricks just to pass. I don't want to switch to JP voices because, personally, absorbing information is more important. It's easier for me to recognize name's and locations when spoken. I hated any time Zero was on screen, but I only had to deal with her for a couple of patches. I'm not going to be happy dealing with Wuk Lamat the whole expansion.
I’m playing the patch and the voice of the Troon is so distracting. It sounds exactly like a male character. I still find it funny how the Troon voices the most manly female character in the game. And dear lord, it’s one of the main characters in dawntrail. Anytime this thing speaks is gonna be painful.
I haven't touched MSQ yet but The Manderville quests are neat. New trial is fun and pretty and the new Manderville weapons look like they came straight outta PSO but you know, I don't think that's a bad thing. I thought the game was severely lacking in more sci fi weaponry that isn't locked behind PVP.

i never thought i would ever switch to the JP voices because of one VA. the VA for our new furball friend sounds wrong. not the kind that you can tolerate it because its not good or bad. the type of wrong that makes you question what the fuck they were thinking.
Well, I like most of the English cast, but unfortunately that one Troon is distracting. Also English is my native language, but that’s obvious, so I much prefer to play games in English. I am debating though whether I should stick to English or switch to Japanese, but I’m sure the Troon won’t show up in any expansions after dawntrail so I might just deal with the cringe for now.

I wasn't even aware of the VA stuff ahead of time. One line from Wuk and I immediately thought, "this is tranny frog voice". It's funny listening to other people who don't already know contort themselves into knots going, "there's something.... weird. About the quality of the microphone?"
The troon menace has such dominance that anyone who knows it's a troon is pointedly not saying anything, and anyone who isn't aware is coming up with all sorts of reasons why the voice might sound weird to them; it can't possibly be because it's a man. Guys. It sounds weird to you because you're easily clocking a troon. It's not that complicated.

Technically speaking, by that troon's own logic, he shouldn't even be voicing a BIOLOGICALLY FEMALE character and should only be exclusively voicing other MtF characters.
I'm sure he wants to sit on his high horse and pretend like he didn't give Bridget's voice actress shit because she was a biological female voicing a "trans" character and that he wasn't part of that extremely retarded movement pushing for VAs to only voice characters they represent in reality, i.e. black characters can only be voiced by black VAs.
Of course I shouldn't be surprised at all that a MtF troon wants to stand there and mansplain to biological women what we are allowed and not allowed to do. Those motherfuckers are some of the most misogynistic pieces of shit on this planet and I will die on that hill.
I would have more sympathy towards a MtF if they were just a normal person who wanted to live their life. But because it has to be some virtue signaling numpty, now I have to hear his cringe voice for an entire expansion.
I got kicked from the copied factory so I’m a bit mati. It’s because I was using lb’s, and when I asked what an lb was, rather than explaining I got kicked. So that’s a lot of fun. I had to look it up to figure out that it’s a limit break.

I just want more mobs to be more than just fodder. There aren't many that do anything more than "Attack, cone/circle AOE, repeat". Early on I am fine with it, but you'd think the higher levels that the mobs would get more interesting, but they don't. More that stun, or specifically target certain classes. Ones that have a mini tankbuster that can really hurt a Tank if they aren't paying attention, maybe even more patterns of attack. Wildstar back when I played it had mobs like this to an extent and it was great.
