Very problematic that they cast a POC as Sauon "The Abhorred," a necromancer/negromancer lusting after a white woman who has rejected him.

For non-Tolkien nerds, the Witch-king's tower in Return of the King is Minas Morgul, which is Elvish for the Tower of Black Sorcery or Tower of Negromancy. And Sauron is sometimes identified as "the Necromancer," which may be a corruption of Negromancer. Although Tolkien probably did not intend a tie-in with The American Society of Magical Negros, the marketing opportunities are too rich to pass up and I expect to see lots of faux grassroots combinations of the two IPs on social media.

I don't think this is what Amazon's casting director had in mind when they asked their diversity hires to find them an actor with the 'Aryan look' to play their big bad evil guy. And though it strikes me as the kind of trolling Tolkien himself might've done to screw with Amazon if it were intentional, knowing his unsent draft letter to the Nazis when they inquired as to whether he was Aryan himself, I don't think Bezos' people are that thoughtful.

Not gonna lie niggers, I am officially at the "hyped for the trainwreck" stage of coping with this horseshit so Pajeet Sauron legitimately has made me chuckle for like 24 hours and I eagerly look forward to see how badly they fuck up this fuck up further so we get more shitpost fodder for the folders

So…does brown outweigh vagene in the hierarchy of Holy Oppression? It’s been established for literal years now that only huwhites can be villains, and now Sauron’s coming back as a pajeet poonigger with Apu’s accent. …does that mean the showrunners have accepted the “Guyladriel is AKTUALLY a villain” argument put forth by the show’s biggest critics?

Or does Poonigger Sauron having a twig and berries make him just as villainous as his cracker former self?

Either way, they’re still fucking retards: Sauron’s fair form was ethereal elven beauty even by elf standards.

Yes, and you're getting season 3 also, because that's the minimum number of seasons Amazon are contractually required to produce based on the rights deal they signed. How much they decide to spend on it is another matter, but my guess would be, a hell of a lot less then they spent on season one. After that, I wouldn't be surprised if the show is quietly cancelled.
