I will admit being a weeb is related to my anti-censorship views, but specifically because I became of age and aware of what censorship was right in the middle of both the vidya/school shootings moral panic and anime starting to become widely popular in the US and causing a moral panic accordingly. There were people insisting shit as G-rated as Pokémon was evil and satanic and anime that aired on Toonami had to have all kinds of ridiculous edits (like Sailor Uranus and Neptune infamously becoming kissing cousins b/c gay shit wasn't allowed).

Going back further, you have shit like the Comics Code, Hays Code, and Satanic Panic (that never actually completely went away amongst fundies and was revived somewhat with shit like Harry Potter and anime). Even though you would think most people would be able to tell the difference between what is obscene vs something with artistic merit, history has shown there are people who don't and will scream bloody murder and try to censor even the most innocuous shit.

It's a complex issue with a lot of history just within the past century, including relatively recently (the late 90s-early 00s still feels fairly recent to me, though I'm also an old fart).

You're right, but that doesn't mean there wasn't still a period of time Wonder Woman's boobs wasn't still treated like it was obscene and legally banned. That's what the Comics Code was. It was a period of time IIRC from the 50-70s where what you could do in comics was heavily restricted to the point of insanity because someone in power seriously thought Wonder Woman having cleavage was obscenity.

That's what I mean with what legally counts as pornography/obscenity being something notoriously tricky from a legal standpoint. There are people in the past that seriously thought that included Wonder Woman having cleavage and used it to heavily censor comics for decades.

I would hope anyone with half a brain would realize Wonder Woman's cleavage isn't obscene, unfortunately we know from history there are people who think otherwise who sometimes get power to control what can and cant be published.

The world should not be designed to tard wrangle parents to lazy/stupid to do their fucking job. This wasn't even about banning porn, it was ridiculous censorship that most people would consider laughable today due to a moral panic. Unfortunately, moral panics still happen.

If you want the world to protect kids, the first step is banning child marriage, regulating homeschooling, and massively overhauling and beefing up CPS and the foster care system. The people most likely to hurt kids are their parents and others close to them, and the complete lack of regulations for homeschooling in the US has lead to horrific child abuse and even murder (including murders that weren't discovered until years after the fact, usually because the parents killed another kid or hurt it badly enough to end up in the hospital).

- Defending, omitting or minimizing problems on their side of the spectrum. Both sides are guilty of it. When you talk about pedophiles among priests, pastors and other religious and conservative figures - I agree, there are and it's awful. - Promoting and forcing one's lifestyle as the only way to happy and productive life. Haven't seen it from you, so kudos, but the left in general does it a lot. There's scientific reasoning behind considering abortion murder though. It's indisputably a human life, but her and other pro-aborts instead use unscientific dehumanization tactics, like incorrectly referring to said life as a "parasite" (doesn't meet the scientific definition) or "clump of cells" (technically accurate, but that's all humans ever are from day 1, even after death).

So, it's more an issue of the opposition being ignorant/disingenuous than a flaw with the claim, best I can tell.
