Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I think FROG is actually very able to sell. Let's give him his due. His problem is DELIVERING DELIVERING DELIVERING because like you say, too much work for the likes of EVS.
That's fair, I can agree with this. EVS has talent as an artist, more than Eric, I won't begrudge him that. Sadly most of that is useless if you have no good business sense. It is like Tesla vs Edison. Sure Tesla was a smarter guy but he was a total retard at financials which let edison pull the rug from under him.

You can say that Isom isn't good or that its average or whatever. But if the same standard is applied back at comicsgate, the majority of whats been published is worse than Isom and the best done by comicsgate is no better than Isom.
This is exactly right. Never forget that Ethan Van Sciver actively pushed garbage like Wart the Wizard, Englewood, and introduced the world to creative powerhouses like Matt Wenger and Adam Post. All of which make ISOM look like The Dark Knight Returns.

He doesn't give a single fuck if his audience buys absolute garbage tier disposable bullshit, he just doesn't want them to buy more of it than they would his years late but meticulously drawn disposable bullshit.

Yeah, but don't forget that eventually Edison had his own fuck up when he backed DC over George Westinghouse's far superior AC in the current wars.

I think he's making a similar mistake here in throwing in with Dax and Vito. If he were smart, he'd try to work with July, instead of against him. Or, failing that, at least shut the fuck up. Right now he looks like a tool.

Hell, if I remember my history right, Edison played dirty tricks on Westinghouse too.

You forget Billy Nunez's Damegang.

I haven't. It lives in my nightmares still.

jeebus christ, why did EVS think that making action figures of his shitty ip is a good business plan?
He came up in comics during a time when action figures of superheroes were flying off the shelves.

years of being told that the "real money" is in "merchandising" has convinced him that if he just makes a toy line, he'll be rich.

No.

Those are single piece PVC toys, with no moveable parts.

I used to have one.
How is the tail in different places in these separate listings?

What made him stop anyway? Is it like nick's excuse? "They stopped giving good criticism"? :story:
Evan was getting trolled by Twitter is Cancer, and Bigdaddy (9th Legion Centurion02) and then the Keffals kerfuffle took the site off the clear net. don't know other than this safe space is not so safe for @FROG anymore being its just criticism bro, Evan can't you take criticism?

The faggot conveniently ran off around the same time people started posting the embarrassing Cyberfrog 3 numbers.
He's been actively looking for communities that don't know how much of a loser he is, like the OnA forums. Like @Seanut Arbuckle mentioned, there's people that only know him from posting about Fatrick. A whole new crowd to scam sell quality books to!

"“I wanted to do this because CYBERFROG was practically designed to be a toy line” explains Van Sciver. “I had a deal with PLAYMATES TOYS back in the 1990’s, and they made a prototype that matched the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line they were famous for producing. But alas, that deal fell through. The “Japanese Contingent” of PLAYMATES fired everyone in the Los Angeles office, or so I was told. And so the action figures never came to be.’"

I think in the end that the deal didn't make sense for Playmates. And that it was done as a sort of contingency plan if they lost the rights to something else. Someone could have taken Cyberfrog and turned it into a discount TMNT clone, but it would have required a bigger investment than just a toy prototype. It would have required at the very least an animated show.
so its true..... Comicsgate is filled with arrested development man children who is still stuck in the 90s and thinks that the 90s extreme comics were the best era for comics.

holy shit, toys are expensive expenditure/investment. why did EVS think he can recoup or even earn profit selling his basically irrelevant comic IP as toys with a low price? even garage kit makers and other small time toy makers charges high price for their toys just to break even.

Sir I'll have you know that DAMEGANG 3 is already heading towards production. At 256 pages of wholly original work produced on time and at competitive rates and by those metrics the DAMEGANG franchise has surpassed both Cyberfrog and Isom. It is the gold standard of giantess fetish comics, thanks in no small part from your help Manning in trolling Frog to promote it.

Also how many in CG are 6 digit crowd funders? I've seen the CG king stream thumbnails and there's usually like 7-9 people...are they all 6 digit crowdfunders?

Comicsgate had 7 creators raise over six figures in 2023, a significant drop from the 16 that did so in 2022. I was going to write a full report on it but got stuck slogging through a full explanation on who Parnell is, the Dungeoneers and the McCarthyist hearings on Uncomicsgate activities. I'll just leave it at while Frog was busy at work trying to rehabilitate Dick Masterson and Vito and torching every connection above, Malin was busy blasting first the struggling creators and then the most diehard CGers willing to fly across the world to go to what amounted to yet another sleazy pub crawl with Paypiggons. With both the base for grassroot support and larger platforms willing to patronize CG creators torched beyond recognition, it's difficult to see where Frog and his "core" CG group will be able to fall back on.

Economically 2023 could be described as a "devastating" year for CG, with even the inclusion of Cyberfrog 3 not being able to offset the across the board losses by the majority of Comicsgaters. Meyer got up to a bunch of various schemes to get his audience to promote his book so he didn't have to, all of which failed and culiminated in Jawbreakers: Contigency raising an igonominous $62,790. He would have raised less if Chuck Dixon wasn't touring FNT promoting Rambo: Last Blood out of either kindness or an undisclosed proft split. Shane Davis spent the year promoting a reprint of Axcend, a creator-owned miniseries made back when Shane was an SJW based on the provocative premise of what if a self-insert of Shane was an epic gamer, centered around themes of toxic masculinity and homophobia.

TUG last anyone checked has been occupied with a divorce with his deranged wife Lola. Since Lola was in charge of logistics as well as cuckolding at TugCo, this leaves Mailbox Matt's business ventures dead in the water as he is occupied involving the police with restraining orders and busies himself installing security cameras about his homestead. Yellowflash was supposed to launch this year (as well as the several previous years) but didn't think to pay his artist something in advance so he could continue to work on the book uninterrupted. Also he left CG. Malin ran into similiar problems as he was only willing to pay 2002-era entry level page rates to work on his comic, then was caught off guard when the contractors left his business on the backburner to take better paying work elsewhere. To help Coach out Frog launched and marketed Black Riding Hood as a now invisible add-on to the CG hat merch crowdfund, written and drawn by Malin about werewolves in Detroit and sold on its bold and uncompromising use of the word 'nigga'. Malin was sure to use his spot on Frog's back (next to Dale Keowne) to pay it forward, lobbing bombs at other Comicsgaters struggling to get books funded. Irene Strychalski, Kelsey Shannon and Narwhal took their business to FundMyComic, the CG crowdfund platform formed after years of youtube noise about being shadowbanned on IndieGoGo which proved to be very costly. Frog in contrast did quite well given the doomsaying going on right now in the thread; in addition to Cyberfrog 3 he had 7 concurrent campaigns running over 2023. It was still nowhere near the peak $2.1M he raised in 2020.

How does it work when most those crowd funds have been active for 3 + years? I love you dongs, as you lick @FROG Skin
On paper he is the cleanest dirty shirt in the laundry bin, however the drop in sales, and the unfulfilled back log, the toys in no way does your graph show EVS's true financial situation, it can't be great with the amount of clownish sperging he has done for the last week on his (Trash Cast) super Rage Berry harvesting.

I take the spreadsheet I have of campaign totals at Jan 1st 2023 and compare them to Jan 1st 2024. I love you too.
