Someone actually published an IEEE paper on tranny programmers? Yes, and it claims that they go into STEM at a higher rate than everyone else (10.9% compared to 8.7% of college diplomas), Also, most claim they are self taught rather than formally educated. But, I wouldn't trust any of these numbers, because the author has an obvious conflict of interest-- are you seriously expecting me to believe this "Skye" is a real woman?
the barrier to publish in IEEE is incredibly low, it's not like Nature. they accept just about anything.

here is the """research""" that they do, btw
and their GitHub profile: https://github.com/SkyMocha

Tachiyomi, the open-source manga/webtoon/comic reader for Android, is officially dead due to threats from Kakao Entertainment.

What the hell did they threaten them with? I think it's more of a strategic rebrand than anything as a few of the Tachiyomi contributors are restarting the project without the original creator involved, but it's a massive move regardless. Tachiyomi and the extensions will continue to function for the near future. The main app is only going to get broken by an OS update years down the line, the extensions are far more temperamental but there's already active development on the new extensions repo so I'm not too worried about them. Godspeed to NotTachiyomi.

TachiyomiSy developer confirming that he's not quitting, and joining up with the new Tachiyomi project mentioned above.

Torrentfreak also wrote an article about this saga (which is now out of date) but it's still worth a read. If you haven't seen anything posted before, it's a good summary of everything that's happened before this closing announcement.
Anime is cartoons for perverts. Still though, the slants can go fuck themselves. In America, copyright infringement is a very specific thing. Everything else is fair game, if the slants don't like that boo hoo hoo, get fucked.

Shit sucks if they did this by hassling Korean devs though.

I've tried Rust a long time ago, and to be honest if I was conditioned and expected to learn this language purely because of a mental illness I'd 41% myself in a day.

Conclusion: Rust kills troons, not Kiwi Farms. Maybe the Blahaj Institute would be willing to publish my well thought out research.

One of the worst things in open source software is the rust cult and their insistence that all projects must be re-written in their clown language for "safety". But who, you may ask, is behind this push? What type of person would ever use rust?
The Rust community is an absolute nuthouse, but I really don't get how it came to be one. Mozilla's involvement is obviously responsible for the strangely high population of webshitters and the obnoxious evangelizing goes back to its equally obnoxious marketing, but where do the trannies and this "aggressively friendly" attitude come from?

The developer of TachiyomiAz, one of the major Tachiyomi forks that's been active for years, tweeted (archive) an email sent from Kakao's legal team to Tachiyomi. The fake Tachiyomi Twitter account I saw before has been bitching about people not appreciating them and calling the devs toxic, and the devs are understandably pissed about it seeing as that account is apparently responsible for escalating the situation.

I assume it's the email their staff mentioned a few days ago.

Also, this is a Tachiyomi contributor in the Keiyoushi Discord server blaming the fake Twitter account directly.
1705228986885.png

Same dude also runs a fake Facebook page, and it's just as liable to be confused with a legitimate one. You can't tell either of the accounts aren't affiliated unless you actually go to their profile and look, and Kakao clearly didn't bother. Amazing.

Editing this in, he KNOWS he's the reason Kakao doubled down and he's still impersonating them for clout.
Twitter thread starts here. Archives; 1, 2, 3, 4.
1705231053570.png
And here's a massive
thread of him pointing Kakao directly at every single offshoot of the project.

These Twitter DMs got posted on /a/, and "beerpsi" is one of the staff in the Keiyoushi discord, so I'm assuming they came from him. Not surprised that the fake Tachiyomi owner is ESL.

Anyway, the Tachiyomi successor has a name and a self-hosted Git repo now - Mihon.
Context: Coming to terms with the practice of 'tachiyomi' but not wanting to have all of their books flipped through, bookstores started designing books and magazines labeled ‘Mihon’ (ie. samples) for people who engage in ‘tachiyomi’.
"Tachiyomi", in Japan, refers to people standing in bookshops reading the books but not buying them. Appropriate names on both counts.

I can only assume that troons took over the Rust "community" because they couldn't capture the more fragmented "community" around c/cpp. It's perceived - or they evangelise it - as the language of the future, so controlling the direction of its developer community would be a high priority for the sort of narcissistic control freaks that tend to troon out.

The "aggressively friendly" part is standard troon MO. It's how they enforce conformity with their delusional ideology, by presenting any sort of disagreement or divergence from their established norms as "violence" and "hate". They extend their need for gender validation to every other aspect of their life, requiring the same level of "validation" for their shitcode as for their shit fashion sense. As a result, anyone who criticises the direction the language might be taking, if their criticism runs contrary to the opinions or validation requirements of the troons, can be pilloried out of the "community" in order to preserve troon egos.

It's a shame. Rust, by itself, is a fairly decent language. It's hardly the panacea the evangelists present it as, but Rust does present a solution for some memory safety issues. The other "solutions" it offers would be resolved by just changing the warning flags on your compiler and formalising management of your dependencies a little more.

tl;dr Troons ruin everything because they need to be validated.

I think Rust also ticks the autism and novelty boxes. Terminally online coding autists are drawn to less common languages with a gimmick and a newer form of C++ with memory safety built in ticks that box. It's also a lower level language which is something they seem to gravitate towards as well.

I got clickbaited by a tranny with a juicy post today (unrelated but lol at the AGDQ hashtag in his screen name, of course he's into speedrunning):

He didn't post any context so I went to his profile and found out he reposted a thread from some dainty theybie called Sage Griffin:

A "former communities advocate at the rust foundation", uh oh. So, what happened to our tech heroine?
The Rust Foundation listed a job with responsibilities that have a lot of overlap with my old job, except it's now explicitly a marketing position instead of someone holding them accountable.
Turns out it wasn't a budget issue or the position no longer being needed, it was them wanting blind loyalty instead of accountability. And they think we're stupid enough not to notice. The foundation doesn't respect you.

TBH the thing that upsets me the most about this is that they couldn't just be honest about any of this and let me go. They had to pull this whole "we're reducing you to one day a week which definitely isn't a layoff and this isn't anything about your performance" nonsense.

The way the foundation acts feels like the corporate equivalent of the effective altruism bs that tech bros spout. They care more about looking important so they can bring in more donations than about actually doing what's best for the project or community. Which pisses me off even more because I spent so much political capital on convincing folks that wasn't the case.

Also this feels like a good opportunity to remind folks that the foundation has a history of not considering trans folks affected by its actions and now has no trans representation at any level internally.

So sadly it wasn't some grand "all trans women got fired from the Rust Foundation", it was just one guy (who claims he was the last one, which I find a bit :optimistic:, but if so, good for them) who got shitcanned because his "job" was literally whining about teh community to the higher-ups.
Seems the Foundation would rather hire useful people who would actually work and help them grow and secure funds.
What a transphobic stance, do better Rust Foundation!

Yet another job that could only exist in a Trump economy. The irony, of course, is completely lost on this guy.

Translation from trannybabble: they want someone who actually does the work they're paid to do instead of bitching and complaining and sitting around like a pile of garbage being smelly and useless.

Wait, you're telling me the Rust Foundation actually paid to be subverted with socialist transgender ideology?
:story:

GitHub cofounder and former CEO Chris Wanstrath was banned from his own platform (archive) for 4 hours and then later on got reinstated. This was because of automation and the Trust and Safety team is "working to solve this issue" (archive).

Legit insane. Is there nobody at the wheel anymore? Why the fuck does GitHub have a "Trust & Safety" team anyway?
Somebody fucks with you: Ignore them.
Somebody fucks with your repo/organization: Ban them.

What more do you need?
