General Wrestling Discussion

I liked the opener and main event of Dynamite. Didn't care for the multi-man tags or women's match in the middle and I don't think the ROH titles should be on AEW TV. It makes it look like they have way too many titles.

I think they are setting up Swerve to take the title off Joe sometime down the road and have a big babyface run. I think the point of putting Joe against Hook was to have him kill a beloved undercard babyface to establish him as a clear heel, so Swerve will be the clear face when he takes the title off him. It's not a bad plan if that's what they're doing. Swerve is really over and people clearly want to cheer him.

Like with a couple people have said, the opening of last night's Dynamite's main event was very decent. Everything else is just complete dogshit, and this is like any other AEW event. It's just full of wasted potential.

Not sure why they're pushing Private Party again though I get not pushing Top Flight for awhile given how many injuries the brothers have had.

I really dug how Penta used his master knowledge of gesture spamming to recognize the importance of keeping OC from getting his hands in his pockets, then when Kommander didn't stop him Penta shrugged like "welp, I tried"

Any updates on Seff?
Probably begging to be allowed to pull a Shawn Michaels and just vacate the Raw title than drop it to Punk, especially since I'm sure the network has realized by now that Seth has a habit of intentionally injuring opponents he doesn't like and don't want him vindictively crippling Punk.

It's where the smart move would have been to just fucking have Jinder beat Seth flawless vicrtory style for the belt and then send Seth off on a stretcher to fuck off and have Jinder drop the belt to Punk at Mania. Jinder won't cripple Punk for the evilulz and more to the point, it's a david vs goliath match that would help Punk out in terms of putting him against a natural heel who just wants to beat up people.

If Seth crippled old man Punk he'd instantly be my favorite wrestler.

Okada is officially gone from NJPW.

I would honestly be much more interested in a WWE Okada than I would be in an AEW Okada, but I'm sure it probably won't happen.

On one hand, fuck Tony. Cut him off. At least if guys were going to WWE I'd never see them again, the whole "I'll dangle Will/Kenny/Mox/Bryan in front of your face so half the big event cards are AEW guys who can't lose!" shit Tony does sucks

On the other hand, I feel like this might be good in the long term. Now that NJPW can't just rely on Okada it'll be interesting to see who they push to the top spot, if they speed up the booking of the Reiwa 3 + Yuya, what they do with Chaos.

It's a shame though. If Tony had taken Okada back in 2020 when he was busted and dragging out matches to 40 minutes with the Money Clip I would be happy but I'm actually starting to enjoy Okada and his "fuck these YLs" era.

He'd be a bigger babyface to the IWC than Jack Perry. Luckily Phil isn't allowed to jump the barricade in the WWE so he'll be fine until he has to wrestling someone before he get's an injury. January is a good time for them
