Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

What made him stop anyway? Is it like nick's excuse? "They stopped giving good criticism"? :story:

He lost his support system and he was no longer able to do the things here that he used to do. It stopped being fun for him. Their attitude off-site these days in that circle is "that thread is still around?" and "why doesn't someone get rid of that thread". I'm sure part of their strategy is to ignore the thread into oblivion.
Its strange how his support system completely lost interest in the farms at nearly the same time he did. But completely coincidental.
Nick was different. Everything became worse for Nick because Nick reacted to his thread on a nearly daily basis. The new danger for EVS is that his association with Juju and Vito starts putting him on the radar of a bigger audience. His feud with Eric July has already made him look really stupid and being buddies with Vito will only make it worse.

Malin ran into similiar problems as he was only willing to pay 2002-era entry level page rates to work on his comic, then was caught off guard when the contractors left his business on the backburner to take better paying work elsewhere.
Oh I kinda remember catching some of this on a random stream. I think malin was bragging about how much of a ruthless slave driver he is with the people he hires. Kind of odd but he was spinning it as him being smart with his money.
I see EVS and Rippa are now making dueling videos about ISOM being traced.
To Eric’s credit or discredit if you will, he’s not denying it…

Is it a serious thing in the comics audience? They frown on it hard? I think tracing as a shortcut is prevalent even in the manga/manhwa/manhua and I personally do not care if they trace as long the style is kept consistent and I did not get disturbed on first read through.

EVS's audience on twitter seems much more eager to bark on twitter but I can't really tell if it's actually doing something. It's hard to see the actual damage EVS is doing to himself right now I guess cause all I'm seeing is just twitter fighting.

My favorite part was how he justified it by saying the shit wages they accept from him will pay off when they make a name for themselves in the industry (that they will be blacklisted from for accepting work from Malin).

Not really. 3D model reference has been a staple in comics at nearly all levels for nearly 20 years. When it's done right nobody even notices. The actual problem is that Isom's art sucks moreso than the specifics on how the sucky art was made.

Its not a serious thing in the art community itself. Neal Adams (the artist) himself defended tracing as a technique at one point and he was as good an artist as there is. And today its more than simple tracing. Its digital tools, AI and a whole lot of things that either create images or do something better than pencil tracing.

Ethan Van Sciver is the last person to complain about this sort of thing. His human faces and human bodies always look like he is getting "help" from something beyond physical art tools.

Tracing and digital art tools can be used in bad ways which leads to bad looking art with style clashes and perspective problems and so on. But there are so many people using digital tools these days that I don't know how anyone can make a moral stand that pencil and board scratch art is the only thing allowed.

Ethan is just grasping at straws for anything to attack Eric July with that sticks. This will not work anymore than the debate worked or defending the honor of his retarded daughter or saving artists from being made homeless without Christmas did.

Ethan needs to exit the feud and cut ties with Dax/Vito. I would guess that people want to tell him that, but are scared about being labeled traitors now. I wonder how long he can keep these Eric July "struggle session" streams going. His audience doesn't like them and its starting to smell like Nick did when he started doing stream after stream about himself to a point where his audience turned on him.

Yeah. Isom's art is just horrible. But the shit art, shit coloring and shit digital sfx on display in Cyberfrog make it the greatest comics art ever made.

Honestly, I think most artists trace once they get their style downpat as the years go by.
Yeah, I was following a jp artist on twitter and when he started posting his process, it turns out he completely uses 3d model for his pictures and the pic came out feeling significantly different from the 3d mannequins. His flesh contours are more fluid but the angle and pose are exactly the same. Some commenters was shocked that he used mannequins but the artist just says that he's "too old to waste time" or something, auto translate wasn't being very clear and there was no real push back after.

I do a bit of drawing as a hobby too (see my traced bugs bunny master piece on nick's thread) and have also trace sketched other people's art to learn anatomy+angles but have also seen people do call out posts on twitter about people using other's art pose so I actually have no idea what the general consensus is. My guess is as long you don't get caught...

Tracing callouts are a proud comic book tradition. If it's someone well-liked in the space, then tracing is a standard industry practice. If it's someone not liked, it's an insult to artists everywhere.

Anyway, I saw Alex Ross mentioned and I remembered this video he did for Fantastic Four Full Circle where he describes how he made his own FF sculpts so he can reference them more easily.

L-M-A-O, PAY your Artist Flash. No 40% deals. Meanwhile Ethan, MAKE me a free thumbnail Pay Piggies! LMAO

The "official" reason is he can't recover his password.

The "unofficial" reason is probably closer to what you just speculated.

Realistically, I think if he came back now, he'd be mocked into oblivion for sucking Vito's pedo-pee pee, as Vito sucks Dax's pee-pee, and Rekieta stands in the corner holding the snack tray. Null might even grace us with his presence again so he could make good on his promise to call anyone propping up Vito's comic a dumb niggerfaggot.

Over the years, I think the CG thread was pretty fair to Ethan, even as it was critical, but this shit that's going on now is something altogether different. He's completely lost the plot. I don't think he can really spin it. What's different between now and early 2023, is that now people on the Farms outside this thread know of him (through the Rekieta, Dax, and Vito threads) and have a very negative impression.

Again, all of this kicked off because Dick Masterson's pet pedo got his fee fees hurt. It's amazing.

He's been actively looking for communities that don't know how much of a loser he is, like the OnA forums.
I'm sure it's completely coincidental that the OnA forums are known for neghole pozzing. Something that hasn't endeared them to Null, and vice versa.

Lest that seem unfair, EVS seems to endorse the shit Riley pulled. It's not a good look.

EVS is connected to tomlinson?
Tangentially. I think it came about through JDA's legal tangles with Fatrick and the SFWA. Might be wrong on that point though.

It is the gold standard of giantess fetish comics, thanks in no small part from your help Manning in trolling Frog to promote it.
Oh sure! Blame me! I explicitly told him it looked like ridiculous fetish shit. It's not MY fault he thought I was employing reverse psychology. GAWD! :story:

I remember him taking digs at Renie working digitally, his reasoning being that she was missing out on selling pages of original art as a revenue stream.
In reality, he's probably just a little miffed that she can churn out work far faster than he can and he therefore feels this is somehow "cheating". His purist stance apparently does not apply to letterers or deaf colorists. Digital is fine for those guys.

If Ethan wasn't such a fat boomer faggot, he might realize working digitally could save him a ton of time and money in the long run. A Wacom Cintiq doesn't really cost a lot these days (I got the 22" model for around $1200) and graphics programs aren't that expensive at all. The costs are minimal for a man of his means.
Of course that means he'd have to spend a couple hours a few days a week learning how to use new tools instead of constantly drama streaming about his Negro Nemesis.
If it's a choice between superchat money and working to expand his skill set, I think we know what Big E will choose 10 times out of 10.

It kind of depends on how absolutist you want to be about what constitutes tracing. Photobashing is fairly ubiquitous in professional circles and any artist who claims to have drawn highly detailed realistic crowd or city scenes purely from imagination without heavy use of reference is a thrice-damned liar.

Digital assets and photography are great tools, we have come a long way from having to autistically pose manequins, old rolls of toilet paper and what ever else we have lying around the house on the work table to get things right.
If Ethan wasn't such a fat boomer faggot, he might realize working digitally could save him a ton of time and money in the long run.
Ethan is not slow because he works with traditional media, he is slow because he is a three hundred pound hog that still thinks that it is a suckling. Working with physical tools never slowed down guys like Gary Kwapisz.

Meanwhile in the land of the orange Koaler. Not even a retard like me believed Liam worked for Indiegogo. it seems IGG may not be happy about his pretending to be their employee. This screen shot was forwarded to me.

His campaigns are now closed. I have no idea if its related to him pretending to be an IGG employee, but boy howdy it would be funny if so. 2024 has only just begun. I don't think my sides can take much more of this chaos. :story:

EVS is connected to tomlinson? I may have only started regularly browsing here because of rekieta but I didn't know this is actually a cinematic universe :story:
There are so many characters in the ReeVS extended universe. Here's a fun one for you. Who is the failed clone: Ethan or Patrick.
Sir I'll have you know that DAMEGANG 3 is already heading towards production. At 256 pages of wholly original work produced on time and at competitive rates and by those metrics the DAMEGANG franchise has surpassed both Cyberfrog and Isom. It is the gold standard of giantess fetish comics, thanks in no small part from your help Manning in trolling Frog to promote it.
The legend never dies. I'm glad to see you're still active Dongs!

I just like EVS didn't consider these negative points against ISOM until he decided Eric was his enemy. Funny how that works.
Oh, that's not even the most ridiculous thing.

Let's dig through the archives, shall we?

Back in March of 2022 he said this:

Yeah, he's doing one. He showed me.

No, I'm not going to promote it.
There's nothing in it for me. I don't like Vito, and neither does anyone else in my chat. He'd have a hard time selling on my program, and I know it wouldn't be reciprocated for my next project on his show anyhow.
"He" meaning Vito.

That changed dramatically as soon as July started outshining Ethan, and Dax decided to obsessively try and destroy July on behalf of his pet pedo (his second one, after Digibro). A stomach churning marriage of convenience was born.

But wait, it gets better:

I'll be promoting TUG's 3rd Umbrella book, RIPPAVERSE and Yellow Flash's comic, because they're all easy sellers, and they've all agreed to promote me to their larger audiences in return.
Today, TUG is MIA due to his divorce drama, Rippaverse is his greatest nemesis, and YF recently told him to eat a dick. :story:

Liam Grey did a skitzostream last night. There is an elaborate conspiracy trying to discover his supersecret physical location via purchasing transformer toys from him through ebay. But the conspiracy underestimate's Liam's brilliance. He has been traveling all over Australia to many different cities across the whole of Australia hours from where he lives to fulfill his ebay sales. He was very pleased with himself about how brilliant he was.

Liam claimed to have closed all his campaigns on IGG recently as part of a planned "reorganization" of his presence on IGG. He was seemingly talking about creating a storefront for all his campaigns under one campaign.

Liam also claimed to have sent his resume to Mike Judge after he heard Judge is organizing a new animation studio. He was also in a rage over Smiller for some reason.

He ended the stream by claiming to take a call from the police and then leaving saying he now had things to do.

I had not paid attention to him for months. But he seems as crazy as ever and still addicted to making up stories about himself. The stream seemed to show him back to all the unhealthy behaviors of the past.

He might be telling the truth about closing the campaigns on IGG or he might not. Time will tell I guess.

That's -$1,180,007 in the RED.
Ethan has claimed that he is $200,000 in the red for the toys. He blamed Az for not promoting him.
Malin ran into similiar problems as he was only willing to pay 2002-era entry level page rates to work on his comic, then was caught off guard when the contractors left his business on the backburner to take better paying work elsewhere. To help Coach out Frog launched and marketed Black Riding Hood as a now invisible add-on to the CG hat merch crowdfund, written and drawn by Malin about werewolves in Detroit and sold on its bold and uncompromising use of the word 'nigga'.
It's hilarious what Malin has said over the years about how all of these guys should work for free or extremely low wages considering that he has admitted that when he finally got his 'break' in comics he was working for no money while his nurse wife paid his way the whole time. They have no kids and he was able to move away and leave her at home to work for the both of them. He has an unrealistic view of what's possible for most of the guys he's schooling. I have to disagree on the second part though. Ethan was adamant that he would not be doing an uncensored version of that book, until he launched the CG gear crowdfund and it was (under)performing so embarrassingly that he made the sudden decision to add 'The Malin Cut' to the campaign to boost the numbers. The campaign then got a massive spike and didn't look like a complete failure... Malin saved Ethan in that case IMO.
Yeah, and now they attacked some of the boys that she streams with (narwhal, vaugh). It's like they thought she was their hoe. It's crazy. They are used to having that kind of relationship with mandy, anna and the likes...
Renie is actually a great artist with huge potential. She didn't know there was a price for the promotion they gave her at the beginning when she showed up in CG streams (Ethan did help her, that's true. But she also helped as well, even when they were humiliating her and stuff).
I'm a bit late on the Renie treatment discussion, but I found some twitter clips that include a Renie / Shane interaction that went so off the rails that Yanzi asked Jon to private the stream.
There were eleven clips, so I spliced some together. I didn't see the actual stream, but apparently it's from Dec 2022.

Liam has been busy lately. On some Darkgift stream I didn't watch he claimed to be a moderator at IndieGoGo and that it was he who had been shadowbanning Comicsgate campaigns. However Liam is not an unmerciful janny; if the people of Comicsgate show deference and gratitude he might be persuaded to lift the shadowbans. Lately he's been calling for Shane Davis to send him streamyard links so the two of them can plot out how Liam will lift the block. This revelation has had mixed reception in the slum community, with most thinking Liam is playing them for retards and others calling for orange blood for these unrepentant crimes against the CG community.

Mike earned Liam's ire for saying that the writing credit for the children's book "Slimed" published by Scholastic was written by another Liam Gray, as well as opining on Liam's pre-marital sex life with the missus as sinful. Smiller/Liam relations have always had a love-hate dynamic but never moreso than now.

Tonight they were canceling her, but didn't show anything that she said in that ptp's group, which was also stupid. The chat (most incels) were all talking shit about Renie without even having any proof that she said anything evil about the cult... I mean, about them. They also tried to cancel Kelsey but he showed up in the chat and told them to show the messages and they kept quiet, awkward af. So this might be all a big hoax, maybe only ptp and some chat guys were talking shit.
Then anna shared on twitter Kelsey's message that made her so upset:

Unless she considers herself an evil cvnt, that wasn't directed at her lol oh well.

Anyway, CG in the past 2 years: 4 books, 891 dramas.
There were two streams, a long ways back. One that I think was on Shane's chanel, the other on Renie's. I didn't see the first one, but I did catch the second.

Both appear to have been memory holed. If I get bored later I might look for clips/mirrors. I can't remember when they were though. I only remember they were while I was in my previous home, which means prior to Jan of 2023.

In the first, from what I hear, Shane got stupid drunk, and it turned into some sort of trainwreck. I have no specifics.

I saw the second on one Renie's channel. It was long ago, and I'm pretty sure I caught it after coming home from the bar so it's all fuzzy, but here's what I recall:

Renie stated at the start of it that she was starting a stream to give people a place to go instead of watching Shane. She, and the chat, were both of the opinion that Shane was making an ass of himself somehow, and that they didn't want people to look. Apparently somebody gaslighted her into believing that people would just leave an ongoing trainwreck to watch her draw.

I remember people mentioning that DM's had been sent to everybody that could be reached, including EVS, to try to get Yanzi to go down and turn Shane's computer off.

After a bit, for reasons beyond reason, Renie invited Shane onto the stream where he began to act like a bitch. He was still drunk, but past the happy/wild stage, and fully into "Oh, woe is me!' mode. He kept rambling a bunch of shit about women keeping men down, and accusing Renie of being a traitor for streaming while he was still streaming.

At some point EVS also came on (I don't remember who came on first) and tried to talk Shane down.

I hope those streams have been archived somewhere, because I think they were a pretty big part of why Renie and company started to drift away.
