So what is this, some stupid Latin America or Africa DLC for nations/theaters that had absolutely nothing to do with the war?
How can you not be familiar with the Brazilian Expeditionary Force?

Sabaton even did a song about them!

As to the war, Brazil was actually vital on account of the raw materials it provided to the Allied cause, including rubber, and after Hitler took offense at them being neutral in favor of the Allies order the Kriegsmarine to start sinking Brazilian ships absent a formal declaration of war, and after that the Brazilian forces would distinguish themselves in Italy.

Politically the country was also a bit of a mess, and Paradox loves political messes.

I don't really mind the dlc focusing on South America. For an alt history game it makes sense to add some contect for the continent that basically did nothing so far be it on historical or non-historical focuses and just wasted PC memory. Being far from the main front South America could be a fun sandbox for alt history conquest that can be played by most players without requiring retarded focus trees like Swiss one or other smaller contries ones that paradox has recently added.

However, knowing jews in paradox, a DLC that should cover all countries from Central America to Argentina will most likely cover a third of them at best so they can squeze two or three more DLCs from this region.

Not only is the price going up, they are also gonna remove the option to buy 6 months at once, only 1 and 3 months allowed.
Paradox attempting to jew even more money out of the fanbase? I'm shocked, shocked I tells ya (this is why I constantly advocate for CreamAPI and/or straight piracy and then simply buying anything you think is worth it when it's on sale etc)

I don't mind them adding alt history, I've even defended the dogshit Return of the Kaiser Germany path. However I do mind them adding stupid alt history like this when the actual history, especially for the majors is fucking dogshit. Fix the base historical game and then add all the retarded alt stuff you want.

Also since it's that time of year where I basically have to stay indoors for several weeks on account of my fucked up chest not playing nice with cold weather I've been playing a ton of Paradox stuff.

I have to admit I was kinda wrong about the HoI4 market. It's actually somewhat useful, especially because the AI has no problems wildly overpaying for dogshit inter-war equipment, which lets you get a nice buff to your starting economy.

Finally tried the long awaited, much touted, reworked Germany in Kaiserreich and it's fucking awful. Remember how everyone complained about Black Monday basically just being "click focuses until gone"? Well they replaced it with a custom card game thing, which is just "click decisions until gone". Such change, much wow.
There's also a massive pain in the ass where you're trying to balance the Black Monday thing, your political situation and some fucking countrywide strikes all at the same time, which just becomes tedious.
One thing I did find somewhat interesting is they added some scripted triggers. If the war against Russia drags on long enough (I got it in '42 but IDK if it's time based, or linked to how much territory you have) you can white peace out in exchange for your Eastern puppets getting some territory, and resource rights to the Caucus oil deposits. There's also another one where if the US goes CSA, but you drive the syndies off the continent you can offer peace to the rest of the internationale rather than having to cross the Atlantic.

This could be useful if you get into a desperate situation. At one point I was fighting The Moscow Accord, The 3rd Internationale, The Co-Prosperity Sphere and the whatever the fuck faction syndie India creates. Outside of that extreme I'm not sure how useful it'd be since, while there is some post war content only available after the Weltkrieg ends (and the game seems to consider the maindland internationale and Russia to be the Weltkrieg, so taking both decisions does unlock it), it also locks you out of some of the focuses anyway.

Finally got a chance to play Luciande in Anbennar, which I'd been looking forward to for a while because vampire adventures who tell the masquerade to go fuck itself FTW However the tree was massively disappointing. The economy side is basically just "slaves, slaves and more slaves" which is okay, but nothing great. However the political side is where it goes off the rails. Unless I somehow missed/forgot a bunch of lore exposition most of the stuff that happens doesn't make any sense, and the ending is the most underwhelming shit ever considering. The one interesting "oh fuck" moment heppens partway through and results in this:
Coalition Map.pngCoalition War.png
Even then once you get over the intitial holy fuck what just happened moment, you realise it's a giant nothingburger anyway since there's literally fuck all you can actively do about it.

Also am I the only one who somehow missed that Stellaris Nexus went into Early Access a month ago? I feel like there was no news about it at all from the announcemnt trailer to the launch. Currently playing my way through the 4 current story missions (there's more on the way at some point), to see how it is, will give a review if people are interested.

A cobra vai fumar!

About time Brazil got represented on Hoi4, it has a lot of potential for gameplay and makes for a great multiplayer slot. The problem will be having the devs actually get the nitty gritty right. A big problem with HoI4 has been that they tend to focus on AH paths a bit too much while leaving the historical ones a bit underdeveloped, or making it so the AH paths have to be way too AH and not really opening up for mild divergences. Like how the USA despite having the complete meme commie and fascist paths doesn't really allow you to play the much more likely paths of neutrality until the hand is forced, or how they ignore the massive fuckery that went on the 1936 and 1940 elections of British, Soviet and German fuckery on the country that I mentioned a few pages back where we know today from declassified memos and docs there was interference to put Alf Landon on the GOP ballot to make sure that in terms of foreign policy the USA would not have any change.

The USSR alt-hist paths are actually some of the best imo, because the many flavors of commie fighting for power is a decent AH push showing off the actual state of how messy politics are. Same with the return of the Whites and how you are forced to either cheese the fuck out of the game or agree to sell yourself to foreign supporters.

Apparently this DLC was done in collaboration with a well known modder, but fuck that price point. They already nickel and dime players on actual DLC, I'm sure as shit not paying extra to make any characters, let alone niggers, look slightly fancier.

Sand niggers are still niggers, nigger.

Also the announcement they teased for HoI 4 just dropped. Not a proper DLC, but a country pack focused on South America:

Currently priced at £12.79, for 3 focus trees and some new art most will never see or care about? Lol. LMAO even
I'm kinda glad there is no new gameplay gimmick this time that will mess up the mods.

Damn I am conflicted as fuck.

On one hand it is pretty good. They got a actual brazilian, or someone who can pull off a very good brazilian accented english for the trailer, and from what they have shown of historical Brazil they have done a lot of very good research on us and the political climate of the region. I am almost certain they will do a decent job at showing off how weird and unique the AIB was and the commie focus will likely feature Olga as a advisor.

But 15 USD is a pretty steep price, 12USD would have been a much better ask IMO. 5USD the nation feels a bit steep, 4USD was enough.

I might leave actually buying it for a sale and instead play it via the Smoke or Cream thing that has been suggested on this thread before. I will be looking into it anyway now that Paradox has decided to ignore the Laffer Curve like many a greedy fucker and raised the price of the subscription beyond what I am willing to pay.

Paraguay and Uruguay:
Minor content as well as new releasable nations
what? do they mean releasable in Paraguay and Uruguay or releasables in South America? Judging by the "regionalism" in Brazil the latter might be the case (in that case maybe they should add some releasables to Mexico as well)
My main gripe is that they removed the rp-factor (giving new puppets non-core land in the peace treaty etc.) so I'm not that excited about the new releasables)
