I'm way behind on this thread and people's thoughts on this controversy, but what do people think about Spencer as a person? My raw, initial, thoughts on her (and feel free to rate me dumb or disagree if you think I'm wrong) was that her behavior at a glance seemed brutally off. The way she talked about "survivors" or "surviving" in this righteously indignant way towards Muta or others struck me as being fake. Like that anger was being almost fabricated and manufactured in her mind so she can emotionally manipulate. Does she suffer from BPD or autism or something? Because something about this woman seems brutally off setting aside her appearance.

Going off what we know about her role in all of this, I personally see her as unreliable at best, and suspicious at worst. Don't get me wrong, if she was abused by CJD, that's horrible, but several aspects of her story don't seem to line up (i.e. the miscarriages, the fact that in spite of her receiving money from a member of the cult in Australia to travel across state lines, there is no visible evidence to say such a transaction ever occurred, etc.), as well as the fact that she was supposedly tasked with recruiting new members of the cult that would go on to be victimised.

If CJD did do this, Max and Spencer have scuppered any chances of a proper legal investigation succeeding, and if he didn't, then they've defamed him for months. If the former is true, not only is Max giving fraudulently-obtained money to someone whose recount of the events is unreliable, but he's giving money to CJD's enforcer, who directly led to more people being hurt.

I agree that there should have been far more scrutiny involved before cosigning this shit, though I do understand how people tend to get swept up in these "fake it till you make it" schemes run by seemingly influential fraudsters (like with the folks behind Theranos, WeWork, FTX, etc): Obviously Max isn't running a massive tech company with a high valuation, though he did carry the notoriety of getting not only the attention of large creators, but also the attention of YouTube's higher ups as well. People are generally willing to believe somebody telling a gruesome story in elaborate detail about how underage victims are being targeted, and the perpetrators are being dealt with in some way.

Again, serious claims definitely should be double-checked when presented as fact, but you really have to be an egotistical maniac to straight up lie to both your friends and audience about getting an alleged predator arrested, only to later admit that he most likely got away. I've been reading this thread too and I don't really know what to think.

On one hand I see max's dating history and feel inclined to think this is just another instance of him being a sex pest preying on mentally unwell women again to feed his dumb savior complex, but then I see her speaking out of her ass spewing the most incriminating deplorable diabolical shit known to man and I wonder if they're both just niggers.
