Should Patients Be Allowed to Die From Anorexia?

I'm a firm believer that anyone should be allowed to die in their own terms, provided they aren't harming anyone else and aren't severely inconveniencing people (messy cleanup, etc). Eugenia just needs to stop putting herself online if she's going to allow herself to die this way.

I don't know if it has been posted yet but the only in-depth video I've seen of this girl is this. It's in French and there's only auto-translate subtitles available.
Aline goes in in an in-depth defense of Eugenia, including the discord mod incident. She argue that any comments made about her weight only worsen her anorexia. As well that being in denial of her condition is a symptom of anorexia and can't be blamed on her. She goes on a tangent that Eugenia was already in the process of getting help when her friends barged in. With that in mind, she also say that Eugenia need her youtube career as an escape because she's so lonely in real life. I disagree. Internet has been nothing but harmful to her and a twitch chat is no substitute for real friends.

Why would she use filters to look less anorexic, particularly in the face? I would assume she'd want the whole world to see her as the skinniest queen to have ever existed (we all know who takes the crown on that) but the filters do make her face and neck look more plump. Does she use filters to look "healthier" so that she gets to stay on online platforms?

I don't know about EC, but (almost) all sorts of people use all sorts of filters, needlessly, all the time, it's general social medja lunacy.

I think it's more hiding her ever-worsening makeup skills and to not look grey.

Maybe its also a fear of facial wrinkles. Usually anas are obsessed with youth, and once a person's face gets thin enough the skin is taut but weirdly folds on itself and ages the person because it looks like deep set wrinkles. Im going to guess the filter also is to smooth her face out, which might be a higher priority than her face looking as thin as possible once it hits that weird suddenly 70 years old look. But idk, just speculating. Shits unnerving.

EC is the kind of person who is desperately trying to cling to her youth. She wants to look skinny, not old, so my guess is that she's using a filter to hide the fact that her face is starting to look aged.

Should Patients Be Allowed to Die From Anorexia?

Treatment wasn’t helping her anorexia, so doctors allowed her to stop — no matter the consequences. But is a “palliative” approach to mental illness really ethical?
I've seen things about this before. I'm not really sure, because it seems like some ED cases are essentially terminal but you don't want to open up euthanasia to the mentally ill like Canada is this March and have someone with a treatable illness be killed by the state. There is a Dutch documentary on Youtube about palliative care for a teen girl with anorexia that's really good. Imagine if Eugenia was in hospice and did kawaii hospice vlogs lol.

I don't agree with this. What a smug, self-righteous cunt. She's so pleased with her efforts to hamper the career of a mentally ill woman.

I hate this idea that anorexics (and any young female who happens to be underweight for any other reason) should never be seen to exist, lest they give little girls the ana.

First of all, it's bullshit. The causes of anorexia are complex and almost always involve prior mental health conditions, and in about half of cases, having autism and/or having suffered CSA. It's not caused by catching a glimpse of a skelly. That's just an excuse to hate on thin women. The only people influenced by Eugenia's appearance would be the small number of girls who are also already severely anorexic.

Secondly, Eugenia is not responsible for anybody else's choices or mental health. She's not spreading misinformation or trying to convince anybody to follow her lead. She's simply existing in public. Anorexics should not be restricted from public life, from freedom of expression, or from public representation, simply because other people are so outraged by the mere sight of them. They should be able to go about their business like anybody else.

Third, I think that children should actually be exposed to the real world and to the fact that severe mental illnesses like anorexia exist. It aids in understanding. It ought to be up to parents to monitor their own kids' internet use, and is for them to determine whether they are too immature or unstable to have knowledge of such things.

Eugenia is 29 years old and has no higher education, and no work experience to speak of. She missed her last few years of public school life, has been very isolated for a long time, and still lives with her strange family. She is physically weak and severely mentally ill. It may not be the most prodigious career, but being an online Z-lister is the only career that Eugenia is even capable of. Her online presence is also her main connection with the outside world. It probably feels like the only positive in her life and the only productive thing she ever does.

Taking that away from her is cruel and harmful (yes, Eugenia's life path has not helped her or her condition, at all. But that ship sailed a decade ago). It doesn't benefit anybody - not her, not her viewers, and not anorexics. It's just an excuse to feel morally superior for this sanctimonious twat. Let's see her trying to restrict the content of fat activists, who purposefully spread misinformation and proselytize to others.

I agree, there's definitely malignant pieces of shit like Ashley that send people food she knows will make them relapse but just existing as an underweight person is not hurting anyone. Underweight people exist for all reasons... maybe they have COPD, cancer or some other health issue and simply do not have an appetite.

Can't reply to Adrenochrome Dreams, but I wanted to say that I agree that she should be allowed to exist on the Internet, but I don't see an issue with age restricting the content. I think about it in the same way that most graphic imagery is age restricted such as suicide, self harm, gore, and in some cases even severe mental outbursts. In the end, it doesn't do much in terms of accessing the content because it's a pretty easy block to get past, but it would at least show that social media platforms are at least attempting to be balanced with the censorships that they do apply. Anorexia is suicide, albeit a slow and agonizing suicide, but suicide nonetheless. Most criticism has nothing to do with how she looks, but rather her attitude about her appearance. For example, the YT user Parispoptart is in the depths of her Anorexia, but her content focuses on trying to overcome it and even though it's clear she's not making much headway, she's acknowledged her issues and is showing that she's trying to beat it. EC, on the other hand, shamelessly flaunts it and while none of us can see inside her mind and understand exactly why she does what she does, it just seems wrong that platforms openly allow unvetted access to footage of someone slowly killing themselves.

Tldr; she should be allowed to continue her career in whatever way makes her comfortable, but there should, at the very least, be limits to how easily accessible her content is. I would say the same about anyone who's normalizing an unhealthy lifestyle.

Eugenia is a part of an internet freakshow. She's the "world's thinnest woman exhibit" next to the "world's fattest woman". The fucked up part is that she doesn't understand that and won't without intervention. YouTube or tiktok accounts are just enabling her to profit off her delusions which are causing permanent damage.

Does she have a right to do that? By my principle yes, because I see the bigger picture. But does she have the ability to make decisions that are fully informed? No. She's not sane. She should be institutionalized. If she wants to kill herself she shouldn't draw it out. If she doesn't, then why is she doing what she's doing? If people want to kill themselves, social media websites dont have to host it if they dont want to. In my opinion her enablers are part of the problem and disconnecting her from them is actually good, because her facade cant exist without it.

I personally find her whole thing disgusting. Everyone around her, and herself just lets this nonsense happen like nothing can be done.
