Mike should call his bluff and continue, leaving the door open to Phil to work with him while he interviews all of Phils connections and detractors.

You could make a unique and entertaining doc on DSP from clips, talking to detractors, Phils previous friends, Panda Lee and even his parents without Phil even being in it.

Phil would just lie anyway, we can predict what he would say. In reality he the boring one in all of this.

I think that Mike's direction is to try and get close access to the subjects instead of just doing a video about someone without their permission using clips.

Its odd that DSP says it would be filled with his past stuff that he says he doesn't want to be associated with anymore, which I kind of get, but if the whole point of the documentary was to show how much he's changed and how he's a more positive individual, I don't see how that would be a bad thing to include. Besides didn't Clum say in the Gundam interview that DSP would have total control and final say of over how the whole thing would go down? I don't know DSP is just lazy as fuck.

I think the only reason anyone bought it is because Clum already went to Phil's house. Phil hasn't let anyone in his house except to carry things.
The only time I can remember Phil letting people into his house were the shippers who assembled the bed; and the one proven time Leanna had friends over (while Phil hid in his office). The dude doesn't let outsiders in... the Internet tech doesn't count, as he's a very special case, since Phil can't have a plumber over for the bathroom or dishwasher.

I think Phil would U-turn his decision the moment he thought that he could lose control of the narrative. Everything he does is to control the narrative to keep his audience stupid.

He keeps his audience like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed on bull shit.

There's lots of documentaries about Phil that just rely on clips and lore, whatever. He can dismiss them easily as detractor content.

I don't know if Phil can dismiss a "real" documentory maker interviewing his ex-friends, ex-girlfriend and family. It would be damaging to him if we heard from Panda Lee herself that Phil was talking to her when she was 16/17 and Phil's story was a lie. All the narratives that's he's built over a decade could easily collapse. I think that fear would make Phil change his mind.

Phil outlined about 10 ways that this documentory could still continue, he's not shut the door. In reality he's probably realised that Mike is doing something he doesn't like or covering something he doesn't want covered.
