In his prestream today he claims his fans told him they're afraid of more drama and toxicity stemming from the documentary. Replace "his fans" with Phil and you have the reason why he quit.

He figured whichever way the documentary will present him, the amount of new detractors will massively outweigh the number of new paycucks.

I think the main issue is what he said about things being quiet and boring, and that there's nothing to really cap this off with.

"so... I was a big loser for 15+ years, never did shit, jerked off on camera once on accident, went bankrupt, and now I eat TV dinners with my fat wife and cats. tomorrow will probably be the same shit i always fucking do and nothing is going to change."

Unironically what did him in is trying to figure out how to make a DSPositive story about a story that is really not all that fucking positive. He's not proud of himself.

it is if you're trying to hurt DSP. It's not if you're trying to line up a series on Internet people.
I think he could make some sort of spin on really painting him as an actual internet villain and everyone else could be better than him. But thats me being incredibly optimistic. And hoping Mike has a care about Journalism

If Mike is trying to build a career out of what's essentially "documentary style journalism" (read: cocksucking and ballwashing for past-prime internet famous retards) then frankly nothing of any value was lost.

Anyone with any actual journalistic integrity is basically persona non grata these days anyway.

We also know from the Gundam interview that Mike is in contact with Scopely.
I guess it's probably a moot point now, but can anyone think of anything of interest that could have come of that?
We know pretty much without a shadow of doubt what Phil's WWE Champions account is, and have a rough estimate on how much money he's spent on it. What is there even to ask someone at Scopely?

DSP found out Clum was going to talk to Jaha. Literally. He explicitly brought up "old street fighter drama". Jaha made Dave shit his pants for a second time

Also @mikeclum, will DSP be reimbursing you for all your plane tickets and hotel room fees? lol we all know the answer
Clum had to have told him there's no way he could produce what Phail wanted with all the crap out there from Phail himself.

If Mike Clum's strategy is to be super nice to his documentary subjects and not release anything if they get cold feet, he will have to get a lot more intelligent about his chosen partners or this won't be the last time he's left out in the cold with nothing to show for months of work. I hope he hasn't spent much money on this for his sake, but I guess it's funnier if he did.

Honestly probably nothing, if not actual lies to help themselves. There's zero chance that company is going to "dox" a high paying customer for 0 gain. They also wouldn't confirm things like username max lengths and previous account names or geolocation or whatever. 100% might cum was looking to just get b roll about the game itself and how it works and who plays it around the globe. General PR for scopely is all.

I mean you could say the same for the entire site using that vein of logic. Absolutely no clue why this board is so hostile to Clum.

We have enough in depth "documentaries" on Phil. You will offer us nothing new or interesting. Phil will never ever let you into his home, you could offer him $50,000 and he still wouldn't let you in his door. It would expose too many of his lies, how fat his wife got, how he lives like a pig, and probably show off things that would get him in trouble with the IRS because we all know he has committed both tax and bankruptcy fraud.

Stay out of this autism void if you know what is good for you.
Damn, I called this shit (especially the fat wife part). If you paid that scamming fuck any money I hope you lost it all for being so stupid as to thinking this was going to work out in your favor.

If you're hoping he'll just do the docu without DSP, that's probably unlikely. He's so early into his work that if he starts doing pieces that are hostile, he'd lose access, which was the big selling point in his Boogie documentary. Basically, he has to make videos that the subjects think are fair in order for people featured in future work to feel safe with him in their space.

I don’t think he’s setting any sort of precedent if he went through with releasing the doc. He went in with good intentions, Phil played ball, and only because of Phil’s false presumptions is he now not interested.

I'm not sure what you mean about the entire site? KF doesn't kiss anyone's ass and it's basically been removed from the Clearnet for that offense.

I don't even dislike Mike, which is why I included "If" before my statement. I liked the Boogie doc.

I just don't think anyone trying to make a career out of fluff pieces for has-been morons is creating anything worth talking about.

I guess my logic is that Mike would eventually have to face the music of his coverage being seen as negative at some point, and if that alone is enough to kill his career, it isn't a career worth thinking about, at least in my opinion.

He shouldn't have talked to Itsagundam. His "I'm above it all" attitude is so fucking cringe
Nor should he have talked on stream to Rich. It's like Mike was going around doing a publicity tour on detractor channels months before the documentary was going to be released, which seemed really dumb and pointless. I didn't watch more than a few minutes of either, as Rich is a bore, and Gundam is almost as annoying and insufferable as Phil, but I'm assuming nothing of note came out of those streams other than perhaps a few tidbits of what Mike was planning. I know Mike claimed Phil was OK with him talking to 'tractors, but doing so publicly or even mentioning who he was talking to so far ahead of the documentary would only serve to bring us to the outcome we got (cancellation).
This may very well have been inevitable, but Mike was not really going about things in a particularly smart manner.

On the very first day that Phil confirmed a new documentary was in the making, his fans complained in the chat that it would only bring negative attention to him and them. He is genuinely delusional enough to even consider that his redemption as "Pashtive and Meaningful Content Creator" is just one inch away from reaching a neutral party that will bring down all 15 years of detractor content.

He did say this:
"Let's say I did this documentary and it went really well. All of a sudden, that's a fair and balanced way of looking at me, and all of a sudden, a bunch of new people are exposed to my content and come over to the channel, and our community grows, and it's better for the business and for everything. That could happen."

He is absolute delusional.

Maybe Mike underestimated how much of a soft skin Phil is? We're talking about a 41 year old dude that can go on a 1 hour rant if you criticize how he looks like he's melting.
