And that's the thing, animation from both the 90s and 2000s at least have distinctive looks and stories different from other animated properties. The 2010s onward is just the same shit, no matter if it's an adult sitcom, an action series or something for children.

To divert for a sec, does anyone else remember this?

An early 2000s animated children's horror classic (if it was your cup of tea) with adventures comparable to what Gravity Falls, starting our favorite at the time child actor, Frankie Muniz, better known as Malcolm from MiTM, going on adventures with his two best friends, generic goth girl nº 42 and flamboyant Ed with sunglasses from EE&E, exploring the mysteries and occult secrets of the town they reside in.

By memory it wasn't that good but was very unique, the main characters were fairly unlikable in the beginning but grew on you, the art was at best sub-par for what was around at the time, and the stories tried a bit too hard to separate it from other "child-horror", like an episode about a haunted jock-strap - But to its credit, like a lot of the other horror shows, it was legit scary or eary, when it wanted to be, and the art style helped that a lot.

This is a fucking classic and I won’t allow anyone to speak poorly of it.

Disney TVA from the late-90s through early-2010s had way more hidden gems than either Nick or CN and yet it's a shame that nobody has given them as much credit, and The Weekenders, Dave the Barbarian, Brandy & Mr. Whsikers and Buzz on Maggie were surprise gems.

Did you know that the animatic pilot that leaked last year (that >>141733639 linked to) is actually a revision of the original, fully-animated pilot? After going through all the trouble (and money) of producing a full pilot, neither test audiences nor Craig McCracken were happy with the result, so Disney asked Craig to re-do the whole thing as an animatic, so he extensively re-wrote and re-boarded the episode. The animatic pilot was so different from the animated one that only a couple lines of dialogue from the voice actors could be recycled, which is why Craig voiced most (but not all) of the lines himself.
