So many people think that you just give some people land and boom it makes a middle class standard of living. And no matter how many times people make that mistake, it never stops being fucking funny to watch them do it again.
These people are called "Communists", and they do it all the time in every country that has the misfortune of getting an infestation of them. And every time the experiment and projected Utopia fails to materialize. Because they are all overly educated smooth brains who never got further along then "Land + Labor=Profit" in their economic theorizing. It never occurs to them that kicking productive "bourgeoise" farmers off their farms and redistributing it to a bunch of inner city "people of socio-economic difficulty", with a smattering of other overly educated smooth brains, would result in previously productive farms ceasing to function.

And then everyone starves. Clearly not real communism.

300 grand doesn't seem like a bad price for a bigish house and some land. Going to want to completely get rid of all the carpet in there tho
I think Bonnie would haggle down to 270 or so.
I genuinely would consider it if it was an hour further north, but then it wouldn’t be so cheap.

the fact that this is 300k shows something is very wrong with real estate

You can’t buy a 2 bed apartment in Denver or surrounding suburbs for 300k.
@Null is right, the cost of living in the states is insane. Housing especially “is a fuck” as Josie recently pointed out.
If you’re working class, any sort of service industry job, your choice is trailer park ($1000/mo park fees) or shitty apartment where you’ll be paying $3000/mo for rent and bills.
If you’re a professional, you need a half million dollar mortgage to get anywhere, full stop. That means dual incomes for most.
Christ knows how single parents manage - on top of that you’ve got school fees and the pressure of living somewhere “nice” to get a good school.

Can you just buy a piece of cheap piece of land and build, or park a trailer on it? This is America after all? Nope. Laws and codes and labour costs mean it will end up way more expensive than buying the aforementioned suburb shoeboxes.

That’s why the tranch seemed like a goer in the first place, if your other option is renting a basement or literally never moving out.

See also Josie and co trying to camp in the Colorado mountains in the winter. However much we laugh at them, there’s a reason so many people are homeless in the most powerful first world nation.

It would make a nice vacation home for someone who has the money to fix it up and make improvements. As a "place to live" fuck no, unless you have a Starlink and are confident in remote working. Or are a local ranch hand.

Jesus fucking Christ the stains

the fact that they seem to have carpet in the bathroom for some reason and the stains all seem to be towards the front end of the toilet lead me to believe they all sat down to pee and it all just went all over the floor every time. its also possible the toilet has a leak.

either way carpeting in a bathroom is insane and i can only imagine the nightmares you will find when you take it up. not to mention the daily hauntings by the army of furious alpaca spirits demanding revenge.

all that aside for what it is its a nice place that needs a fair amount of work. also might be worth it to find the mass graves and properly mark them or else you risk finding random skeletons any time you try to dig a hole outside.

Look what’s back on the market… price has been re-evaluated a lot lower, but it’s still appreciated a good bit.

Paul has done a hell of a job clearing up, it has to be said. “Owner is motivated to sell”.

Nostalgia time!

If I was a millionaire retard instead of being just a retard, I'd buy it and host kiwifarm's servers for free.
Let's do a GoFundMe for @Null to make a TTD ranch.

Hammer City didn't even have land, that was a lie. They just used someone else's land for their Hammer City photo op without permission and got the cops called on them.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that part of the grift (lol).

I was more thinking of how delusional they were in calling rocky scrubland "RICH LAND" and thinking they'd be able to grow anything there at all (though in retrospect it seems pretty obvious that Gazi planned on taking the money and running from the start).

It'll go down. It's not worth $300k even if it didn't need several tens of thousands of dollars in repairs.

Personally I think Sam Hyde should buy it or maybe even just rent it out for the next season of Fishtank. The place being a bit of dilapidated shithole doesn't matter as much and is perhaps even a bit of a draw. I think the history of the placed can be milked for plenty of content. Don't underestimate the value of an alpaca archeology challenge.
