I’m not into survival games at all, but I’ve been getting really into this one. I think the fact that your Pals will just do a lot of resource gathering stuff and everything automatically really helps a lot with the enjoyment. Takes away a lot of what would be grinding by having the Pals do it instead.

Most raids spawn unable to reach you if you build your base anywhere elevated. I'm building on the mountain with all the willow trees and nothing has spawned anywhere they can reach me.

Their proof for generative AI being used to make this game is that the director thinks AI is interesting. Thats it. He doesn't bleat out "AI bad" constantly. If they had proof, Steam would be interested due to their policies on AI generation but they dont, they just say it, the next troon assumes its true and repeats it hoping someone will jump in with the evidence when they get pushback

Also Nintendo don’t make the Pokémon games, Game Freak does. Nintendo pretty much just acts a publisher for the games with some control over aspects of the franchise but the games themselves are 100% on Game Freak and the Pokémon Company. I actually believe there is not a single Pokémon game, even spin-off, actually made by Nintendo or a studio they own. Fuck Namco Bandai has had more control over some Pokémon games than Nintendo themselves lol.

Nintendo Japan (aka the main company, not the dicksuckers at NoA) is actually pretty chill and I'm 100% certain that they would showcase Palworld (if it was ever ported) on the official blog just like it's been the case for many third-parties including indies. A port is not going to happen until the Switch successor comes out, as the dev team is certainly not experienced enough to optimize on lower-end ARM hardware machines and with Unreal Engine no less.

It would be pretty funny to see the virtue-signaling morons having the biggest mindbreak of their lives once a port comes to the Nintendo console though.
I also suspect these same idiots don't know much of Japanese game development (besides Nintendo, Capcom and Squeenix) hence why they can't understand how a game project can have a shoestring budget but still makes bank nonetheless (by simply being fun to play). My favorite game franchise, Earth Defense Force by D3 Publisher & Sandslot, fits that bill.

I kept having to scroll up to check the title of the game and to see who the developer was. I was looking at some of the pictures on Steam and thinking these Pal things look really familiar. If this game gets really huge and gets attention the Nintendo lawyers are going to pounce. lol

Gabe doesn't care what you say in games. PC's and Steam aren't peasant boxes with their censorship faggotry. As long as you don't say it on Steam you are safe. Being PC master race is about more than playing games on all ultra settings at 4k and 60fps.

Why is there no disability representation in this game?​

I'm autistic with ADHD and I want to know why this game has no representation for the disabled community (of which many play this game) It's making me really upset to see how ableist this game is. Refunded.

Edit: A lot of replies here so I'll just reiterate, I'm not trying to be a spokesperson for the disabled community. I genuinely think more representation would be a generally appreciated change in future updates and I hope to see it (If I ever choose to return).

I've never encountered a more intolerant and regressive community in my entire life than the one I experienced during an hour of gameplay on a multiplayer server. Some individuals find it amusing to express hostility towards others simply because of our differences, diverging from their narrow-minded perception of the world. It's appalling that, in 2024, people within the game had the audacity to insult me using trans slurs and homophobic profanity. It's high time for a reality check. The behavior exhibited towards others is egregiously outdated, especially considering the fresh start of the new year.

I took the initiative to call upon the moderators multiple times, patiently waiting for over 20 minutes, only to be met with inaction. Consequently, I uninstalled the game due to its failure to moderate such repugnant conduct. I even reported the offenders' Steam profiles for the offensive remarks directed at me in-game, yet no action has been taken. It's disheartening to think that playing this open-world survival game held the promise of something special, only to be met with such disbelief at the extent of the issue. This game and its allowance of unchecked negative activity should be condemned and addressed promptly.

I have no idea why everyone keeps saying this game is going to get C&D'd or have legal action taken on it just because some of the creatures almost look like Pokemon. The companies involved have had well over a year to respond to the game's release, during which trailers showcased Pals that haven't changed in design at all. Hell, this company's mascot, Anubis, is clearly a Lucario reskin and he's existed for much longer than Palworld has.

So from what I’m seeing on Twitter, once you take out all the extreme biases, is that the developers too some Pokemon 3D models and essentially traced/referenced them to build their own 3D models from scratch. The way the polygons are put together is different than how Pokemon does it and too complex to be “cut/paste” two Pokemon together. They essentially took a 3D model of a Pokemon apart and used it as a reference to build their own in a different way.

TLDR it’s not AI or copy/paste, it’s heavily referencing while working your ass off to build it themselves.

Even as a Pokemon pay pig, I mean, player I find something perversely amusing about how my fellow spergs are chimping out on this game. It's not like there have been similar (albeit distinct) series like Digimon and Monster Rancher during the initial round of Pokemania in 1999/2000. Hell, there was a more blatant ripoff called Robopon on the Game Boy Color. Pokemon is a $100 billion multimedia franchise and the only way Palworld will be a threat to their hegemony is if this new contender has similar success in anime, film, or merchandising. I don't know if it will grow that big, but I could see it sticking around like Digimon.

I'm a big Pokefag and I genuinely don't understand the pure salt coming from the community about this game. I haven't played it yet, but I've been watching a friend play it and there's a ton I can see that I genuinely fucking wish I could see in an actual Pokémon game (Pals having more utility than 1 on 1 battles, a mount being for more than just transport ect). The seething is some top fucking kino though. It's a pokeclone that actually has something decent to offer instead of being pure dogshit, be mad at Gamefreak for being so incompetent that some nobodies can come in and do a better job, not the underdogs actually doing something cool.
