Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I've seen it happen when a Pal gets stuck (like my Incineram getting accidentally tossed onto the roof and then spamming picking up and dropping wood.) Transporting in general seems finicky in how it sometimes breaks for no apparent reason.
My next base is definitely getting two-high walls. The taller/bipedal Pals seem to really hate one-level high rooms, especially if you're picking them up and throwing them to give them assignments.
My wishlist for the game is some kind of baton/whistle/whatever that lets you point it at a Pal, point it at a work spot, and give the order without having to run up and mash F.
For some reason it seems like they try and deposit things into the back of a chest. If you have your storage up against a wall, that's probably why. Make sure it's spacious otherwise they have weird pathing issues that make them drop things to try and cancel their work.
That makes sense, I'll have to redesign my bases a little to accommodate for that.

Idk if its on purpose or what, but they planned for it. As soon as you can, get some Killamaris from the level 13 dungeons. Killamaris are absolute godchad floaters with an early level 2 in transporting and high catch rates. They'll get anywhere and they can do nothing other than transport, so even if they drop something they eventually pick it up again.

Pokemon has a market...and their market grows up while wanting more. Gamefreak does nothing to keep courting the older market and actively gives them the middle finger which is fine. But Gamefreak is about to learn that it's biggest competitor being Digimon for the last 2 decades has made it complacent.

It's always puzzled me how Game Freak has always kept their games extremely simple (not counting IV autism in early games) and not attempting to do something more in-depth to keep up with the demographic that made them big to begin with. Even though the games are aimed at kids and teens, the young generation of today are more savvy to how games work. When I was growing up, if you didn't know something in a game and didn't have either a strategy guide of some sort or a friend who knew what to do, you were shit out of luck. There's a ton of resources and guides on the internet and YouTube to learn gameplay mechanics, and game developers don't account for younger audiences who want a deeper gameplay experience.

As an anecdote, I have a 7 year old nephew who really enjoys Minecraft. When he showed me the stuff he had been working on when I was over for the holidays, it honestly kinda blew my mind. The kid has a whole world dedicated to redstone projects that ranged from simple contraptions to extremely elaborate setups, complete with logic gates, inverters, the works. It's just a form of entertainment for him, but I don't think he realizes just how much he understands about the basics of machine logic and circuitry. I hope he keeps his love of tinkering long enough to get into something useful as a technical skill instead of ending up a project of new-age college indoctrination later in life. Uncle Spider can only do so much to keep him based.

I find it funny that this game probably extremely low budget and has now netted them over 25 million dollars. I hope that convenience store kid gets a cut of this shit.

He's about to go from working at a 7-11 to owning a 7-11.

You can probably submit that to the “bugs and requests” section in the menu. May not actually do anything, but you never know.

It's like Hogwarts Legacy all over again. A very loud minority on social media threw a huge snit fit about a game, gave it tons of free publicity, and now it's incredibly popular and profitable. I guarantee a ton of people wouldn't have even heard of the game without these plagiarism accusations.

Did someone make a site to track streamers who play the "mons with guns" game, in the same manner? Have they started writing letters to Biden, Trudeau, Sunak, Macron, Kishida, Yoon, Lai, Albanese, Netanyahu, Modi, Putin, Zelensky, Xi, Kim, Maduro, Boric, Milei, and the like, to try to get their Governnments to ban the game outright?

I've been working on upgrading the material caches at my two bases right now, upgrading to metal chests and putting them in places where Pals won't get a case of brain worm and lose their shit.

One thing I noticed (unless my eyes are lying to me) is that there's no way to build a better gate, you're stuck with wood. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing since they still make for good a jerry-rigged wall.

I also had that "Fan Girl" raid pop up while I was working in my second base. At Lv. 17 those Lovanders are no joke and you should be afraid of 'em :cryblood:. Thankfully by sheer luck I crafted the item needed to use Tokotoko's Partner skill beforehand, Eggbomb Launcher wiped most of 'em out whilst I caught two that survived the blasts (that Medicine Production Lv. 2 skill helps).

I actually caught a couple during my dungeon runs and I have one working in my second base, I'll have to add one to my main base.

I started playing this game myself today and lost track of the time. It's been a while since I've looked at a clock and did a double take at how many hours had passed. I unlocked the ability to have two bases, I've collected a number of eggs I want to hatch (when I can get the ancient technology point assumably after a tower boss), and ended my day catching a gigantic yellow electric hedgehog. Palworld is incredibly fun.

You mean like the large wooden gate? You can unlock a stone version at 31 and the metal version at 42. That's in addition to the stone/metal defensive walls which are around those levels.

I feel like I'm really missing something with the medicine. I see them all listing different ailments they help with, but not HP, but I haven't seen any of those show up. Do they only happen to Pals who overwork with low SAN?

Yes, continued low SAN is pretty much the only way. And you won't get SAN that low unless you use a monitoring tower and crank it up to hard or max, since otherwise they just can't burn SAN fast enough before going to bed. Certain nocturnal pals have a chance to overwork enough to the point of injury/illness on normal because they won't automatically sleep at night so their SAN only recovers from hotsprings unless you skip nighttime by sleeping (forcefully recovers SAN).

You can also get the ancient tech points from killing the random bosses wandering around, like the Lv. 11 Chillet near the start.

Game is so based despite occasional jank. I found myself going "awwww!" when a Lamball hammers away and helps me at my bench or when a Foxparks cooks my food, and five minutes later fleeing from the Palworld Police Force because I whacked an NPC with a bat to see what happens. So many laughs, I love it.

Well I guess my eyes were lying to me, I didn't notice that, I only saw the defensive walls. Good to know.

I had a Cattiva that had suffered a major injury during a raid that progressed to a weakened state due to neglect. I had to bust my ass to make some High Grade Medical Supplies to cure it.

HP heals over time but the assumed lack of HP-healing items for both you and your Pals is baffling.

Have other people been cracking the whip? I've found that things are already so self-sufficient in most cases that I can't really think of making them work harder. I've got more wood than I'll ever use from one logging camp, lots of stone to build up a base and walls, and food is practically infinite with just two berry farms. The only bottleneck I have is ingots from the mining base and sulfur, mostly because I rarely spot boulders for the latter in the overworld. Usually have to go in caves for them (and coal, but I haven't gotten to high-quality metal, yet.)

No joke, literally two seconds before I was about to stop playing for the night, I got raided by three derpy blue dinos 10 levels higher than my strongest Pal who proceeded to burn down my entire three story house. I than spent 45 mins rebuilding it, only with stone this time.

I’m equal parts pissed and impressed. I’m also going to make that particular Pal go extinct from now on lol.
I'd tell you to go to the menu and back to the world to stop the raid and despawn the enemies, but I'm not sure if that's bulletproof since my Pals were buggy after that. They'd kept going in and out of combat in the blink of an eye and I don't know if the menu or the raid itself caused it. If that happens to you, placing an alarm bell and ringing it will get them back to working like normal.
So where did everyone build their first base? Not sure if spawns are random but an area near the start of the game had a huge ore deposit, a bunch of stone nodes and trees near it. It’s the ruins like area literally right as you start the game.

Have too say that even though it needs more work and I’d love to see more system fleshed out, this is a really fun game. Honestly even though I have game pass I might just buy the steam version.
I didn't know an ideal place, so I just built my base to the northeast of the Plateau of Beginnings statue, past where you can talk to someone sitting at a campfire.

That's pretty much a given, although there are some base-suitable spots that naturally spawn the boulders that give you ore.

My first base is actually pretty damn close to yours placement-wise the only difference is that it's in the southeast area with the ruins.

Lol that's actually one of my favorite parts of the game.

Though realistically, I bet they wanted HP healing to be a dedicated decision when building your team, and the easiest way to maximize value is to just not give any alternatives for healing lol.

Having the game turn into a battle of spamming consumable healing would probably be pretty tedious, too, so I'm glad they avoided that. I don't need any more 99 lifegem games. Though, speaking of Souls, I'm a little surprised they didn't crib the estus system. Seems like more and more games are doing that in order to provide healing, but keep it from being something you can do endlessly. Not that I'm really complaining. Ending a boss battle I was underleveled for with just 100hp left felt pretty satisfying.

Well, at the end of the day this is supposed to be a multiplayer game. I think the expectation of "healing" is to just be able to keep revive chaining your party when travelling as a pair or more.

Excuse my autism farming, but Palworld is the first game since BOTW that's given me any sort of wonder of adventure. I can spend hours in this game, just looking around the world, poking into odd corners, both to find collectables, but also just to see what the hell I find, and think about a backstory I know will never fucking happen. I know it's an unapologetic ARK rip-off, but after Ark drank the BLM purple drank, it's filling that hole quite nicely.
