My dad had to wait 2 yrs for an aneurysm surgery, lucky it didn't rupture or anything. I support universal healthcare, just won't work with this level of immigration. MAID is fine to me for terminal illness and really serious stuff but the government is retarded to extend it to the mentally ill this March with how crappy our mental health system is.

It didn't take that long for the consult and imaging but the actual surgery ended up taking a lot longer than they thought it would because there was a massive COVID backlog for procedures that all had to be done. The neurosurgeon only had access to an OR on certain days.

Two of the family doctors in the town where I live retired. Nobody replaced them. There just is no walk in clinic here. If you don't have a family doctor like a large majority of the people here, your only option is to go to the hospital.

Glad your dad made it out okay. I had to have a specific surgery when younger and a couple more on my teens but my family pulled through. It’s just a bunch of the loopholes and hurdles that are completely unnecessary in the USA that piss me off because it’s just so dumb.
