Phil is claiming he is losing thousands of dollars a month, eventually settling on a third of his income being gone and blaming Argentina for his misfortune.
At the start of the video Phil is explaining why he is really worried at the moment, saying he is coming down from December and things slowing down in January, specifically the ad revenue on youtube.
Superchats, tips, it's all great and coming in as usual, except the memberships obviously. DSPGaming has 1600 memberships right now, with 500 of them being legit. Last month it was apparently 800 with all the gifted subs going around. He says he was looking at his dashboard and it was showing 37% loss in membership revenue compared to last month. Thousands and thousands of dollars. This figure slowly turns into a third of his income on the channel, into total income.
Fucking amazing.

I don't know how gifted memberships work on youtube but what he is alluding to here is that when you have a channel subscription you can still receive a gifted sub and you won't be charged for that month if you get one.
So he is basically saying here that his complete paying member base will be wiped out and satured with gifted subs. If that's the case, that's pretty fucked up. Let's say his standard month is 500 paid subs and he got 500 subs in January. I don't know the exact numbers before the season of giving but I remember it being something along those lines as well and I'm ignoring the other tiers since gifted memberships should not affect these. A standard membership is 4 euros for me, I assume this is the same for dollars. (4 * 500) * 0,7 = 1400 dollars in memberships on DSPGaming post youtube cut. In the worst case scenario he is losing 1400 dollars each month assuming the gifted subs completely saturate all natural paying members AND prevent all legitimate gifted memberships that he would normally get. So that's already pretty far from thousands and thousands and even further from a third of his income. This fucking guy never ceases to amaze me how fucking sleazy he can be. And December is also now the new standard moving forward.

Is January even slow for Ad Revenue, because I know that is one thing he bitches about. I'm sure ad revenue fluctuates a little depending on the time of the year, but I can't see ad revenue slumping hard in December. I have to go on a limb here and assume that the November-December ad revenue is actually higher than average due to Thanksgiving and Christmas and goes back to normal in January.

Piggy of course sees this slump in January and has to assume no one is running ads or something in January.

Edit: I can't believe DSP mentioned Null today and how Null hates shit touchers. Phil went on a whole minitangent about how Null isn't a bad guy because he is against it but also doesn't like him that much for allowing it. Safe to assume some dent informed him about the goings on here if he wasn't lurking himself.

Maybe the whole documentary was canceled for a special spot on the next MATI stream.
