Because WB and the woke millennials who work there HATE Superman. Superman is the embodiment of optimism, compassion, tradition, freedom and hope. All these traits are considered "lame" and detrimental to WB and the woke millennials that work there. What they want is for Superman to be Homelander. They want to make Superman into a villain and have their assortment of "quirky, fun, queer, outcast" anti-heroes take him out. Basically what this is is a "Fuck you" to their dads and other old white men who made these characters. After all, in the mind of a woke millennial, anything that was made by a white man (despite the fact that Superman's creators were Jewish) is fascists and must be destroy by queer ideology. It is also wish fulfillment for the woke millennial in that their queer anti-heroes take out the traditional white male hero.Referencing a few posts from earlier, I don’t get why people say you can’t make a good Superman game. Super easy pitch: you take Brainiac, have him break into the Fortress of Solitude while Superman is shrunk down inside the bottle city of Kandor, Brainiac steals the bottle and, once he realizes Superman is trapped inside, he sends in waves of disposable goons with Kryptonite weapons and maybe a few classic baddies (like Bizarro, Atomic Skull and Livewire) to fuck with the big blue boy scout. You’d have a whole city with easily-defined bounds that the player couldn’t leave, and enemies that could actually damage Superman and pose a threat. Why is this so hard for WB to figure out?
