Implication and innuendo are useful tools for a writer. Especially for comics, story telling is generally better when you show instead of telling the reader through text.
If you ever checkout the Assigned Male comics, you'll notice that the author loves using walls of text to lecture the reader. It's a really shit series for that along with tranny brainrot.

Is it just a horror comedy like Zombieland? What is the genre, and who is your target audience? Teens, Kids, adults, Etc.

What do you plan to add to the zombie concept to make you different? For example, the Last of Us utilized its zombies through a parasitic fungal infection known as "Cordyceps". The Resident Evil franchise also has some zombie-like characters that are unique and a good bit memorable. One of the most important parts of crafting a story from a big concept is to have something that sets it apart as a whole. Diversity is cool and all, but a brain-infected fungus that's out of control with little research done on it is far more exciting and memorable.

Also, I'd like to point out: Why is the setting in high school? What do the characters being in high school add to the overall story and plot? Will they stay there and barricade themselves? How long will they be there? What is their goal, and how will each character achieve that goal? What will all these characters bring to the table, and what will be their strengths and weaknesses? "X character is academically smart." Okay, but what will that character do that the other 16-year-olds can/can't do? What's the dynamic of these characters? What sets them apart from each other other than the color of dress they wear?
