Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

The issue with anitubers is that they are just uninteresting. Ironically enough they rarely push degeneracy too far (probably already learned not to share their loli/shota views), and they always do the blandest political takes. The only reasons anyone knows the two is that Digibro is a pedo and Marzgurl had a meltdown after accidentally making a docu on an alleged rapist.
Personally I hate how normie most of their content is. No Chibi, I'm not interested in hearing about One Piece for the 5 millionth time, not unless you actually put effort in. That and recycling 10 year old memes

Sounds like the usual "if it's not gay oriented fanservice/relationship then it's bad". Fat women/trannies with bad takes is just about the norm

SJW Weebs sure are disgusted by how important cutie honey is to the magical girl genre and Anime history in general. Capitalism is a bad rant. Men are horny for cutie Honey bad. Women are gay because cutie honey is good. Fan service is bad. Go Nagai is super progressive but also a sexist cis male at the same time. Tranny avatar. Eryncerise is too stupid to pick up the Catholic Honey Catholic school setting, poking fun of the naughty Catholic school girl stereotype. Mad that one of the lesbian teachers is a Hitler joke. Negative stereotyping all criminals and transgender people are serial rapists. Eryncerise is a fat cosplayer who goes on Twitter and rants about gun control and tranny shit. Probably a untapped lulzcow in more ways than one.
Oh yeah, this chick. I watched some of her videos since she was doing a magical girl retrospective series I'm interested in, but she really can't keep her politics out of it. I don't think she made it to Cutey Honey yet when I stopped watching her stuff, especially since I knew she'd have issues with it, and I'm also sick of hearing how "qweer" Utena is that I knew she'd go on about.

Did not know she was actually that fat, though. She sounded thin to me lol.

Sworgrader is getting pretty interesting. They've established a multiverse gimmick, and one of the less well-known (but very interesting) Braves is going to be in it:

Read Getter Robo, its TTGL's direct inspiration and it's short as shit (60 chapters for the entire series).
The OVAs are also short too.

Giant Robo is also fucking awesome but less to do with TTGL.

GaoGaiGar is cool too.
GaoGaiGar is EXCELLENT. It's very clinical in its approach, so all that detail makes it very cool. It's also optimistic and uplifting because it's not actually about scorched-earth violence and becoming the best at something; it's more about rescuing and reforming the enemy and having fun with technology. Betterman takes place in the GGG universe, but it's basically a dark version of GGG -- it's important to watch, though, because it appears in GGG FINAL and the sequel manga. Webdiver is similar to GaoGaiGar in that the villains, save for the pure evil big bad, are all brainwashed good guys who have to be rescued. The other Brave series, especially Da Garn, J-Decker, and Goldran, are also worth watching -- I'd suggest Exkaiser and Fighbird too just for their influence on Japanese animation, but they're the type where you can watch the first few episodes, the last few episodes, and any random episodes in between and not miss much. GEAR Fighter Dendoh is also worth watching in full because, much like GaoGaiGar, it has high levels of realism and a lot of interesting character dynamics.

Gurren Lagann is very much in the style of all the 2000s Go Nagai mecha anime. Aside from Getter Robo, the ones that are especially notable are Gaiking 2005 (that's basically an honourary Brave show) and Kotetsushin Jeeg; these two in particular have very cool, WAY over-the-top battles. The Liger manga from the 80s is also good. Xabungle is another anime that had a great influence on Gurren Lagann; however, it focuses more on character development and worldbuilding than action. It proves that goofy Tomino is great Tomino. I really like its mechanical designs that blend analogue and futuristic technology, as well as the mystery of the Innocent and the characters (especially Jiron and Elchi). Overman King Gainer, which I haven't seen yet, is supposed to be similar to Xabungle and Gurren Lagann, so it's going to be worth watching.

I think Eryncerise has a better chance of being a major cow compared to the rest of the anitube community because she is a fat bitch that delusional and confused men or dykes pay no attention to her despite the THICC meme popularized by chubby girls. She is the kind of fat Karen that bitter American black men refuse to pick her up during TGIFF closing hours, like the other fat white women.

Just digging through her photos and tweets online. Finding a goldmine. Not only is she hovering hands around skinny female cosplayers. They all look uncomfortable or disgusted with her. I have a feeling she has poor personal hygiene. I might investigate Eryncerise further later. I recommend others here do the same.

There are so many good unknown anime coming every year and those anitubers always have garbage nromie taste and will only speak on something unique after it blows up online.

Utena legit killed more people than any edgy/violent anime ever, probably combined.

Also I want to say that the true grandfather of modern anime is Go Nagai. Idiots like to say Miyazaki because they just want anime to be Japanese Disney, but Nagai made anime to be what it is today - badass heroes, smut and robots.

Not just new stuff but old stuff too. I want a solid, 30 minute deep dive on Crest of the Stars. It has some of the best space battles I'm anime, period. No one will fucking do one because it's just a cult classic that isn't even on blu ray, only dvd.

I had her confused with Dawn Huestis of the Anime Nostalgia podcast. This chick could be her doppelganger, since Dawn also can't shut up about anime being kuh-weer, throwing politics into her reviews and she also does the skinny voice to compensate for her fat body.

i am 80% certain the term is meant to describe thin women with concentrated fat in their rump, thighs, and breasts
What I wanted to say, like curvy, it's not being a blob but having your body well defined in the important areas as opposed to the skinny look. Nowadays a woman describing herself as curvy means she can be easily rolled down a hill.

Oh wow, that's cringy and sad. Especially as the people with her have no idea who the fuck she is. I don't get how those people don't just diet and get it over with. I don't know if it's cow worthy but it is meme worthy like that Demon Slayer cosplayer

I've gotten to the Christmas episode of Chrono. Also when I started paying attention because this show. Yes I zoned out for 11 episodes. This show is very 2003. Also I forgot Christmas episodes existed because modern anime barely does a honest to god Christmas episodes anymore. I miss them.

The new episode of Urusei Yatsura is strong with thr NTR vibe. Good episode, plenty of fun gags.

We can blame isekai. Christmas episodes were common when anime when nearly entirely in modern day Japan.

Probably right. The thing is despite the show being a 5, maybe 6, out of 10, I really liked the Christmas episode because it felt like they gave a shit, and it even felt like the dub was caring a bit more than usual. Things were different 20 years ago man.

It's already seven years old so I'm not sure if it still counts as "modern" but I adore the Gabriel DropOut Christmas episode with Vignette trying to hold the perfect Christmas party (despite her being a demon) without letting Jesus-hating Satanichia (or apathetic Gabriel) ruin her festive spirit. (It's Gabriel DropOut episode 9 and the Christmas part is only the first half of the episode with the remainder being a visit to a temple for New Years' and then an epilogue with the girls going to the gates of Heaven or Hell to visit family, which was setting up the next episode.)

I'll have to check that out, haven't heard of it. Really anymore it feels Christmas episodes are relegated to SoL or romcom shows. Even then, in comparison to this otherwise mediocre show, the last "Christmas episode" if you can call it that, that i actually cared about was the Love is War movie. I wouldn't mind if they came back in more popular shows and actually matter, I'd be pretty happy actually.

Meanwhile they ignore the fact that Honey is a paragon of virtue and is absurdly caring and strong, almost motherly like a good woman should be. It's not her fault she's well-endowed and happens to fall out of her clothes sometimes... fat pigs need to be more understanding of that.

Alright asking for a recommendation for a show that A) has more then 30-35 episodes in total and B) came out within the last 10ish years.

Realized awhile ago that I kinda miss when I first started watching anime and I would just focus in on one show for dozens of episodes instead of being spread out between 5 or 6 different shows every seasons and while there are some old hundred plus episode series I'll probably do this with, I feel like I need to work up to that again since it's been a damn long time since I watched something that ran for more then 24 episodes straight and I kind of want to see if anyone can name some recent series that have a good number of episodes to them.

Ushio & Tora is an influential '90s manga that got 39 episodes almost 10 years ago that went unloved in the West for some reason.

Definitely worth your time.
Unfortunately Ushio & Tora I think was the last show over 24 episodes I watched which I guess goes to show how little anime get more then 3 cours nowadays or how the ones that do are barely talked about. But its definitely worth a rewatch or reread.
