this time if we're lucky, we might get an attempted murder this time
We got that this season, with Jimmy
I was about to reply about the highs of S2 but outside of Jimmys tard rage and Greg's naivety I couldn't think of anything else in S2 that could be considered a high.
Pretty much everything to do with Summer and Cole.

The majority of season 1's cast either knew of Sam or were outright fanboys like Sylvia and Vance. In Fact the people who knew nothing of Sam and MDE were largely uninteresting people like Mauro and Simmons.
The Simmons/Jon romance arc was fantastic.

I think I've just been grumpy for the past week of Fishtank but the ending sucked to me. Skipping over Frank in the curtain call (of sorts) was funny.

Maybe I have rose-tinted glasses but I don't feel like the highs of season 2 surpassed season 1's and its lows, which drug out for hours or days, were abysmal. When season 1 ended and everyone walked out the back door I thought, "Huh... now what?" and was kinda sad it was over. With season 2 I've counted the days for 2 weeks and was wanting them to hurry things along but didn't want to tune out since I was curious how they'd attempt to salvage this season and how it'd compare to season 1's save by Sam. Well they never really saved it and it was a boring day. I feel bad for Tay but honestly don't care that she lost, she was deliberately screwed over by production as far as I'm concerned. Brian showed up because Jet liked him and that's literally the only reason he's there which is a great reflection of what Jet is all about.

A terrible season that I think is more representative of what Fishtank is and will be than season 1 where they got incredibly lucky on top of having an incredible cast. I'll probably just pop in here and there for season 3 but can't see myself caring all too much anymore.

I didn't think Season 1 was very good. I thought it had potential though, I didn't watch the last 3 weeks of Season 1 as, after Jon left I didn't think there was anyone interesting left on the show. I just sort of followed along with the thread.

I had hope Season 2 would be a step up. I think 10 Fish was a better starting place than 8 for a 6 week run, and I think the cast was a lot stronger. I actually liked the ploy of not trying to avoid secret MDE fans, and instead convincing them they all were fill ins that had to keep their knowledge secret. The burn outs of the first week were a disappointment, but after that I think they got into a pretty good stable position.

However, Sam and Jet really fucked up managing this thing. They played favorites as opposed to producing good content, they took their weak pool of remaining fish and weeded out and worked against the ones that were entertaining. Sam flipping on kicking out TJ and having him kick Taylor broke the tank. As much as Jet catches the flak, Sam fucked up the Season. Because from that point on, the entire Season was seeing if they could take this retarded spaz and make a man out of him. They brought back Jimmy to act the villain and get knocked down by TJ as a massive fluff piece.(I still 1000% assert that was a set up, you are retarded if you thought Jimmy was there long term with two bodyguards around him all the time, and that Sam was really pissed off because "(Jimmy) was suppose to make the show good". If Sam was actually mad, it's because he was suppose to take a fall for TJ and he quit instead). After three weeks this had failed and their choice was to cut their losses and give the win to the popular Shinji or the actually competitive Tayleigh, or drag the TJ growth arc they had sunk the show with to the end.

Season 1 was Fake and Gay because they ended up at the halfway point with only one clear winner Josie, and got lucky that Letty and to a smaller degree Lance carried along a charade to make it seem like the Season 1 wasn't a flop. Season 2 was Fake and Gay because Sam and Jet marionetted around the eventual winner, and the actual people playing the game were suckered into suffering for half the run so that Sam and Jet could make Season 2 seem like it was an amazing story.

One is making the best out of a bad situation, and the other is making a bad situation out of the best they had. I don't like Pro Wrestling, and that is what this Season felt like, a big gay story pretending to be real. I'm out, maybe I'll follow along here to see how bad Season 3 is, but I'm not engaging with it from the start like I did Season 1 and 2. I only came back to watch the TJ/Shinji fight because it sounded like it was a complete train wreck and that's really all it was.

no. people made the argument that he didnt grow or change. i wasnt talking to you.
I can guarantee if you were to put him into a new house with new contestants and production staff, TJ would reset to his day one stimming.
His growth is just him becoming comfortable with his surroundings and his anxiety lessening.
He's had no meaningful growth and is still retarded.

I can't really fully compare this season to the first since I only watched the first week of the 1st season and couldn't watch it any longer due to a busy schedule, but damn S2 was the definition of a roller coaster ride. There was never a middle ground, it was either going up or down. The first 5 days was, and still is, the best days of this season. Everyone was engaging with one another, the fishes who were creating content were still present and there were arcs organically forming. As the days go by, the content slowly hit rock bottom then it surfaced back up again because of one fish, but the producers always got too greedy and got them either eliminated or kicked.

Sam said he wanted to show an example that another Josie would never happen again, but I think he only further cemented that the only strategy to win is to not give yourself too much attention. Every time a fish went into the limelight, they were either kicked or eliminated. People assumed Shinji was going to be the next Josie, but it was actually TJ. Ask yourself, how many content did TJ produce? And how many were influenced by TTS and the producers? The only organic content I could think of was when he was drunk the first time and slept like a Muslim praying to Allah. If they went about TJ in another way, a way that didn't force his growth or artificially creating an arc, like looking at the camera and admitting to the audience about the rule34 and promising to stop cooming, then TJ winning wouldn't have felt this sour when he beat Shinji.

If you really think about it, a lot of the problems stem from the producers themselves rather than the contestants. They got too greedy with jimmy, had a hate boner with Tay and messed up with Cole. The contestants were great, and if the producers played their cards right, it would've been way better than what we got.

I like season 2, and while it didn't capture the hype it had during the first few days, it was satisfying enough till the end. See you all in 6 months for season 3.

IMO the issue with the cast this season, besides Summer being insane, came from production's refusal to play ball with them, give them interesting challenges to do, lay down ground rules with regards to what can or can't be talked about, etc. Blaming the fish is like blaming the delivery boy for showing up at your door with the wrong order, he can't help it if he's given shit.

Dog-piling contestants during that mock-Synanon therapy was super retarded and half-brained when they could have simply done what they'd done last season, e.g. Nick Caminos lecturing Vance on how the show's in financial trouble because of him, Letty and Sylvia each being told the other is a problem, Letty being told Vance is eligible to win like $100k, etc. Look for character flaws, budding rivalries, etc, and play on them basically.

Of course that would require a modicum of planning and foresight, and we all know true, Neptune 95-abiding directors don't fuck wit dat white piypo shit wit no drip nigga bitty im fitted.

anyone saying TJ didnt grow is retarded

How can you not see he was putting it on to be like Josie from s1?

If it was genuine, he wouldn't have been able to drop it so quickly. Those are literal spastic movements that only the most disabled retards do, the kind that need 24 hour care and live in homes with other retards. You guys think you can go to a disabled care facility and cure all the retards by bullying them for a bit?

What actually happened is he came in acting like a spastic thinking it would be endearing and then either forgot to keep up the act or chose to stop it because it wasn't getting the same response like Josie's retard stimming did (which also stopped, btw). Only goes to show the depths of his cringe.
