The problem here is that you're expecting normalfags to read beyond the headline and not latch onto the animal abuse angle.
Nobody cares about the normies. It's funny that they're getting riled up about it. It's just the media making up a fake story to get clicks.

The problem are the people in this thread, who know about the show, and know about Sam, acting outraged by this blatantly fake non-event.

yeah haha they would neeever abuse those chickens haha they just threw plates at them and gave them smelling salts for pranks haha

I 100% believe the crew are lazy and dumb enough to just leave the chickens out on the highway after the show. They were already dumb enough to buy them in the first place and expect them to be entertaining instead of being scared and confused after being forced into a new environment.

Plenty of people do this shit when the animals they adopted suddenly aren't fun anymore, and the crew has already given us enough evidence of their stupidity and IMO cruelty. I'm not saying they're completely heartless or big bad animal abusers, but their treatment of the birds is more than enough proof that they don't care much for the chicken's comfort and well being in the house, so why would they care about what happens to them out on the highway?

More info and a video of the chickens on their Facebook page. The crew had no plans for these chickens and were just going to give them back to the slaughter house before someone made a complaint to this rescue group. Fuck the crew, but I already said that when they were throwing shit at the chickens and making them inhale smelling salts. https://www.facebook.com/westplaceanimalsanctuary/
There's also an Instagram reel version for people who don't want to log in to Facebook:

The description seems the same.

To Sam's credit, he did stop Tay from giving them smelling salts, so he at least understands what is and isn't acceptable for animals used on screen. Ben & Jet however, do not, and given how haphazardly this season was slapped together I'm sadly not shocked they had no concrete plans for the chickens once they were done with them. LiabilityTank may be meme from sneedchat, but this bonehead move has now hit the MSM (albeit local news), opening them up to potential scrutiny from something far worse than internet autists, state regulatory bodies. The dumbfucks Sam has surrounded himself with seemingly have no forethought and are going to drag him back down to where he was six years ago. I genuinely hope that doesn't happen, I hope they learn from these mistakes, but if Sam doesn't put his foot down and start acting like a business owner, instead of a friend, he's gonna get fucked again.

Now that I can see them in bright daylight, I can see they're a mix of Red Stars with possibly 2-3 Buff Orpingtons thrown in. All laying breeds. Likely production got them since they're no longer economical layers and were going to the rendering plant to be turned into nuggies and tendies and other reconstituted chicken product, as they're too old and not the right breed to be used as broilers.

Yup, people already are tagging local media in the instagram reel. Also state regulatory bodies are staffed and run by internet autists who decided to stop doing it for free. It really is an autist's dream job.

Sam Hyde saved those chickens from the slaughterhouse. They would have been dead without him. Sam Hyde: animal rights activist!!
A lot of people use purely or almost purely suffering-based ethics for non-human animals. They don't care about the number of animals alive, they only care about reducing the suffering.

moralfagging for chickens and still not a single post about trish getting slapped in the face lol. truly no one liked that girl.
I still haven't seen any clip of this yet.

I probably still wouldn't care though, not because I dislike Trish, but because I know she's friends with the crew and this was something cleared with her before it happened.

What is the fake story here? I'm not sure exactly what you are accusing them of being wrong about.

Rhode Island news station WJAR is reporting:
"an online reality show called Fishtank released the chickens in the house and allegedly intended on abusing them for content."

Descriptions in the thread of the amazing content they got out from the chickens' interactions with sub-chicken ogre Frank Hassle:
I'm sorry but how is watching Frank throw plates at chickens and then making them smell smelling salts entertainment? I get chickens are considered dumb farm animals to most but this is still mean and psychotic.
He's trying to get the chickens to act out and do stuff since all they're doing is huddling up in a corner (obviously because the poor birds are scared). He thought it was funny that the smelling salts made them temporarily act up. I really can't watch people be mean to animals.

: wow : Advancing culture : wow : Memorize this if you are an artist guy : wow :

chickens are also exceedingly fragile animals. i've seen 20+ chickens get so spooked by a coyote that they gave themselves heart attacks and died on the spot one after another, and I'm sure most people who have worked on farms have seen similar. they're lucky frank didn't end up scaring a few of them to death.

It's bait to make it seem like the chickens were going to be abandoned. They're writing it as if the chickens were rescued.
Then your problem is with the animal shelter dude, the news station is literally just repeating what the shelter said in the video and in the description so I'm not sure why you are pinning it on them.

Excerpts from what the shelter said which has already been posted:
⚠️RESCUE ALERT: Reality Gone Wrong⚠️ Today, West Place rescued 10 chickens from the set of a reality show. The internet program is live streamed 24/7 from a derelict home in Rhode Island, and two days ago they thought it would be "funny" to release 10 chickens inside the house.
First, we received an email complaint, then one of the show's more level-headed staffers contacted us directly confirming there was no plan for the chickens and no forethought. Sadly, this is the "reality" of many rescues and we arrived to find the birds in the garage surrounded by piles of carboard boxes.
