They don't seem to understand that Tay was literally the least bitchy person in the tank as far as female contestants went and was moved to almost tears at the thought of fucking people over. Even the literal final day of the show when TJ confronted her over the chips being stolen she was about to burst into tears mid conversation since she knew she had fucked TJ over in such a catastrophic way.
It’s important to keep in mind that being “the least bitchy” or unwilling to screw people over isn’t exactly a good thing in Fishtank. Worse than being a confrontational asshole is being a non confrontational Fish who willingly gets walked over from time to time.
Same goes for humiliating oneself. If you do that too often and without much of a reason it comes off as strictly pathetic. Pushback from fish is ok, it’s pushback to the point of locking yourself in a room refusing to do challenges that’s annoying. I view Tay as more of the former. She licked Frank’s boots, without questions and willingly gave him her panties. That comes off as desperate more than anything. Not to mention all the fake Nazi shit. For a large portion of the show she was very non confrontational and a background fish. The only major time she confronted somebody before the final four was during panty-gate, and that came off more as a confrontation in the most annoying fence riding way possible.
In many ways, I view TJ and Tayleigh as creators of content for the wrong reasons. TJ humiliated and degraded himself because he was very retarded, lack of mental capacity = less inhibitions. He threw himself into boxing matches where he knew he would lose and shaved his head because he was truly that stupid. That’s why he did so well during the swamp Olympics. He was very malleable in that sense. Tayleigh created content mostly out of desperation and with a “look at me lol so edgy and random” attitude. Both of these types of content seem stale and artificial to a certain degree.
It should also be noted that TJ and Tayleigh, like all the remaining fish after Jimmy’s elimination, rarely created content without some guidance by production to do so. Their content was never strictly lasting nor was it connected, and it stuck with the theme of the latter half of season two just being and ocean of nontent filled with brief islands of content popping up only to disappear under the waves shortly after.
Tayleigh was in my opinion the fish who made the most content on her own after Jimmy’s elimination, but I do not think that makes her a content driver. She was the best of the worst. She was a mid fish at best, but because the other three were just as bad if not worse, she stood out.
Edit: it should be noted that polls from 4chan, especially from the first few days, aren’t that great. For example, I’m sure Tayleigh’s ranking dropped during pantygate. I’m also sure TJ’s rises during his underdog arc after he got his ass beat by Sam because people liked that artificial plot line. Most Fishtank viewers are quick to change their votes when something interesting happens to a certain fish.
