She was a big name in the Competitive Eating community and everyone knew she had crazy talent from the moment she burst onto the scene, but her career was unfortunately rather short-lived and riddled with controversy. She had to compete in the openweight division due to not making the 265 lbs heavyweight limit, which meant she mostly went against girls who towered over her, but she more than made up for the height disadvantage by her enormous girth. She quickly earned herself the "Iron" Jackie Singh nickname, a homage to Mike Tyson, whom she resembled not only in the stockiness of her build, IQ and skin color, but also in aggressiveness and sheer ferocity in the ring, or in Jackie's case, at the table. Much like Tyson, she had the physical potential to become the best ever, but never quite managed to materialize it due to her extremely volatile mental state.
During competition, Jackie would routinely try to steal food from her opponents' plates. On multiple occasions during hotdog eating contests, she stuffed several hotdogs into her pockets to take home and when caught, defended herself by saying "her kids gotta eat too." She would bare her teeth and growl at the other competitors regularly. Bringing her a new plate of food when she was done eating the previous one was often difficult because she would start voraciously attacking the fresh plate before it was even set on the table, which often resulted in the servers getting bitten. To protect themselves, the servers were instructed to wear special gloves and sleeves normally used for training police dogs. In a pork ribs eating contest where Jackie ended up 3rd, she accused the silver and gold medalists of cheating because "they didn't eat the bones too." When told that only the meat counts for the purpose of competition, she became agitated and demanded a rematch.
The greatest controversy of her career and also the one that ultimately led to her being banned from all eating competitions on US soil by the CEAC happened during a hot wings eating contest. Jackie was in amazing form that day and managed to eat THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE hot & spicy chicken wings in an hour, more than double the amount eaten by the runner-up, another talented eater named Jennifer S. Thomas. However, as soon as the contest was over, it soon became obvious that the foul smell spreading around Jackie wasn't merely her natural body odor, which most contestants were somewhat used to by now. It was something far more sinister. A commissioner who was called to resolve the situation has, after a long and confusing call with the head of the athletic commission, decided to disqualify Jackie, based on the reasoning that while relieving yourself during competition is not explicitly forbidden, it still constitutes "morally bankrupt and unsportsmanlike behavior."
Upon learning that she was disqualified, Jackie went into frenzy. She kicked the table over, ran into a nearby restroom and locked herself in a toilet stall. Pleadings for her to come to her senses and unlock the door were met by repeated flushing of the toilet accompanied by sensual moaning; a behavior made all the more bizarre by the fact that no one has ever seen Jackie inside a restroom before. In fact, multiple people reported witnessing her quicken her pace while mumbling unintelligibly and making the sign of a cross when walking past the door to the toilets. Eventually, a small crowd gathered outside the restroom and security was called. Threats of kicking the door in were met with more defiant flushing and it wasn't until one bright onlooker came up with idea of waving a half-eaten chicken drumstick under the stall then quickly pulling it away that Jackie finally unlocked the door and came out, lunging at the piece of poultry with a deafening shrill. After eating the drumstick, she became docile and left on her own accord.
After this incident, the CEAC sent Jackie a strongly worded letter informing her of her ban from all CEAC-officiated events. The letter was promptly returned to the sender, heavily crumpled and stained with unknown brown liquid, and that was the end of Jackie's turbulent competitive eating career.
