BreadTube - The Unofficial ContraPoints Dickriders Club and the culture / drama surrounding the community.

Can anybody tell me why this Chugga shit is related to Breadtube? Plus is all the breatubers on hiatus since this is all is talked about these days.
Tangential relations.

Some troon that goes by "Lady Emily" saw a post on reddit talking about how Chugga is a wholesome bean with only green flags, or something to that effect. Said troon got VERY salty, then posted some accusations against him. Since then, the whole thing has spiraled further and further.

This troon is also a scriptwriter for Sarah Z, so I guess the conversation around Emile just stayed in this thread.

I might write up a thread on 2000s Let's Players general since I understand this discussion on Chuggaa here must be annoying so moving it to a different thread would be better + I think the topic would be interesting. Only thing is is that I'm not knowledgeable on Something Awful LP roots so somebody would have to fill me in on that one.

There is already a thread for Lets Players from SA. I think null gave an abridged summary on his person stream of Lowtax about SA's LP community roots if you want to crib info from there.

At this point the Chugga shit has become enough of a happening that someone needs to make a thread on it instead of squatting in the BreadTube thread and making discussion of other topics impossible. Remember even if Chugga or the troon aren’t worthy of threads themselves you can make a thread on the general drama like what happened with RoosterTeeth.
I'm in favor of this, or a deteriorating LPer autism thread. First-wave internet celebrities are aging out and getting desperate to stay relevant *cough* daneboe

I do think you might be onto something. A lot of “black” slang comes from niggers being too retarded to say words like a normal human being. Case in point: boo vs beau
You know what that's a very good point. Just like how "rizz" comes from "charisma." I would like to know where the heck "bussin" and "gyatt" came from though.

Remember "bae" from the mid 2010s? That one was extremely annoying and even my IRL friends unironically used that one. People thankfully stopped using that one but yeah that one aggravated me. It is just one extra letter to say "babe," not even an extra syllable for crying out loud. It's like people all collectively realized "bae" was retarded even for slang standards. At least rizz is funny to make fun of, bae was just retarded and embarrassing.

It's interesting that he's focusing on the "youtuber crossing lines with his fans" part, rather than the ages in the Lawliet chatlogs which is what'd instinctively repulse someone without the context of 2010s forum culture. It makes me think he's only paying attention to the LadyEmily stuff for... some reason. The "power dynamic" thing he's indirectly leaning into on its own is some of the most modern-internet bullshit that you have to force yourself to pretend to be mad at; I don't give a shit if a rockstar fucks his groupies, and I don't give a shit if a funny YouTube man fucks a subscriber.
I wouldn't even put YouTubers in the same category as rockstars or popular musicians, because (in the case of let's players) they're mostly a bunch of nerds that happened to get popular playing video games. Their appeal comes from being a regular person who's much more relatable than a traditional celebrity, which makes them more approachable to their fans. Now can they use their e-fame to take advantage of said fans? Absolutely, but lately it seems that what people focus more on are abstract things such as supposed "power dynamics". No joke, I've seen stupid twitter thots claim that a man with a large follower/subscriber count have immense power of them somehow.

The whole phenomenon of YouTubers having to be "wholesome innocent babbus" that also denounce sexuality is a somewhat recent development that can be traced back to places like Tumblr. Mostly because having that sort of attitude became more marketable to have rather than being raunchy or edgy. I'd argue that this sort of change has caused more problems to manifest, because the pressure of having to keep a "clean" image for rabid fans can take quite a toll on someone. Especially if any sort of small mishap can lead to their reputation being ruined, even if they attempt to apologize.

gyatt comes from a way of saying goddamn.

Absolutely. And I think a lot of people that have AD(H)D being misdiagnosed with autism has contributed to this too.
Nah, AD(H)D is almost as popular as autism and is diagnosed slightly more often.
In my opinion it is due to the raging Cluster B's who found a way to escape the stigma and get some special points. Doesn't help that a lot of doctors, who really shouldn't do so, tack autism on to basically everyone. Detransitioner? Here, you were just autistic. And since it alleviates some of the resposibility, those teens and young adults are happy to agree.
It's funny you said that - -Sarah Z apparently JUST got married - with the caption "me and the bad bitch i pulled by being autistic"

Interesting timing with Lady Emily lashing out, considering the skinwalking and everything.
Her autism LARP is a new development. She suddenly claimed to be sooper autistic a few videos back (I like listening to her stuff in the background) - interestingly, she didn't directly mention it by name, but just alluded to it by being "OMG so socially awkward and don't like the texture of wool". Needed the eternal Tumblr hugbox for actually saying it I guess.

I think it might be due to her getting married. Before, she leaned heavily into being "bisexual", but now that she is in a "cis het" marriage, she has lost oppression points. And in her bubble that is like being a leper in the 1900's.

Dalton spiralling might really be due to her getting something he never will and maybe her growing independence? I think there is some serious cow potential.

They don't want to talk about the negatives that come with the 'tism, because that's scary, and they'd have to admit that it's more than just a quirky diagnosis that's all about liking anime and trains and shit.
Oh, they love talking about "how hard it all is and how society is sooo ableist towards le sad neurodivergent flower".
It is basically the same as troons: Give us everything we want whenever we want, because we are somehow oppressed. They just leave out the actual negative stuff, since they never experienced it.

It'd be kind of funny if it didn't bleed into real life as much. I could do without the avalanche of (usually genderspecial, what a surprise) twenty-somethings filling up my waitlist and demanding their diagnosis of choice.
