I’m going full autist and beating a dead horse but once again Warner Bros squandered the opportunity to readapt Batman Beyond. They snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

As cool as Beyond would be, Rocksteady always intended to move on from the Bat after Knight. I am more miffed that Superman is not getting a title in all honesty. If anyone could have saved the big blue boy scout's gaming reputation, it was Rocksteady. I truly believe SS is using builds made for that alleged prototype, it would make the most sense as to why Metropolis and Brainiac specifically. Brainiac is a weird choice for an SS threat, even for a mind control villain, one would think Enchantress or Starro would be the villain for some film synergy.

The only hope for Beyond was that cancelled WB Montreal Damian game that would act as a middle point of the two Batman series. It would have been a cool way to do more with the premise, but sadly got cancelled in favor of Gotham Knights.

I hate to have a similarity with Moviebob but feels like it’s gonna be James Gunn who bails DC out.

I like Gunn, but I doubt he will. He is already cramming the first film with cameos to other heroes rather than allowing Superman to stand on his own. A lot of his lineup is also piss poor. No Flash, Aquaman or Wonder Woman, but yes to Amanda Waller show, a show about Themyscira, and green lighting other weirdos like Creature Commandos. Dude really should just build out the core heroes and their sidekicks allowing for JL and Titans to flourish in a phase 2. Then he can bring in some strange groups, preferably something like Doom Patrol rather than SS or the other weird things he has cooking.

Should also say that doing a partial reboot so he can keep the failing SS brand is a terrible idea.

BTW if you want to enjoy Kevin Conroy in this type of story done right watched the movie “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.” It’s the heroes overcoming their mirrored alternates done right. Suicide Squad doesn’t get that you still need good guys to stand in contrast to corrupted heroes. Even Garth Ennis at his worst knows this. The Boys is all evil Superheroes yet you still have Starlight. And all of this is so ugly that they tied this to the Arkham Universe. Arkham was just a giant fanboy love letter to BTAS.

Yeah, it is a good film.

That wasn't Conroy, that was William Baldwin. Conroy was in Assault on Arkham though, and that's a great Suicide Squad movie. Seriously, go watch it, they got the interactions right:

Black Spider (voiced by Giancarlo Esposito) kills Batman partway through the movie, only for it to be revealed that Batman kicked his ass and disguised himself in his costume, pretending to be him all along.
Harley also has a great arc, she's very hot, as she should be, sleeps with Deadshot (the real white Deadshot), and uses him to make Joker jealous, which works, all the while both Joker and Riddler have ridiculous convoluted plans going.

The image on the left is from Arkham Origins, and the middle one is from Assault on Arkham. Both fit the character's traditional appearance much better. Also she's voiced by CCH Pounder in both of those, who did the voice in the DCAU. Waller is an underrated villain, sort of a less evil Kingpin with government backing. Total waste.

This was unironically what happened back around 2013 with the New 52 reboot in the comics. Everybody hated it. This was also when they gave Wonder Woman pants.

Watching on youtube, at the Batman section: It's already bad enough that Batman ends up a brainwashed villain who murdered his own son after battling with basically the same situation throughout Arkham Knight, but how does Harley beat him? Gassing him with fear toxin. The same shit he was fighting in Arkham Knight and has made a main part of his new arsenal, but he's defenceless against it because Harley made her own brand of fear toxin after interrogating Scarecrow.

Woke writing never makes any sense. Batman is nearly immune to Scarecrow's fear toxin by this point. And Harley is nowhere close to bright enough to make her own. Not to mention Scarecrow was turned into a gibbering idiot by his own fear toxin at the end of Knight.

The part where they have Harley mock her old Arkham Knight outfit really is the worst gen z/tumblir writing I've seen in awhile. It's so anti sexuality out of nowhere because "male gaze bad." Nevermind Harley has flat out admitted in the past she likes feeling attractive/sexual. The gen z writer can't even be assed to not self insert for half a second.

The Batman death is really infuriating. As others have said, this could have been an excellent Beyond game with old Bruce dying at the end to save Terry. If done right that BTAS inspired thank you at the end could have been immensely touching. It'll never happen now. As a big Arkham, BTAS, and general Batman enthusiast, this is how it ends.

The justice league is allegedly supposed to revive because of brainatic nano machines or some shit in a later season.

He may have just done all the dialogue at once and not realized they were going to piece meal it. I remember there was some frustration from him in an interview when doing Arkham Knight because he had to do lines like 5 different ways in different tones and he didn't know what they wanted.
