I'm not sure about the pair-bonding thing but the definite downside to c-section is that the child does not come into contact with the cunt-inhabiting bacteria (mother's microbiome) and as a result has a weaker immune system - children born via c-section are more infection- and allergy-prone. C-section is not inherently bad but it should be treated as any other medical intervention; only done when the situation calls for it because the health or even life of the child or the mother is in danger.
