Join beer league softball, take an adult education course on something you're interested in at a nearby institution to meet people with like interests, go learn rock climbing at a gym alone and try to strike up friendships with belay partners. There are a million ways to do it. Typing on a keyboard and talking into a microphone cannot provide the social interaction we need.
