BREAKING: Satanic idol at Iowa State Capitol BEHEADED by Christian veteran - Christ is King!

A Satanic altar erected in the Iowa Capitol building has been torn down and beheaded by a Christian and former military officer.

According to The Sentinel, Michael Cassidy pushed over and decapitated the statue of Baphomet, which was placed in the building by members of the Satanic Temple of Iowa after receiving permission, and discarded the head of the statue into the trash.

Cassidy told the outlet that he destroyed the altar on Thursday to "awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government."

"The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment," Cassidy said. "Anti-Christian values have steadily been mainstreamed more and more in recent decades, and Christians have largely acted like the proverbial frog in the boiling pot of water."

Cassidy turned himself in to officers who were present in the building, who confirmed that the Satanic Temple of Iowa seeks to press charges. Cassidy was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

“I saw this blasphemous statue and was outraged,” Cassidy said. “My conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted.”

Cassidy previously ran for Congress in Mississippi and served as a Navy pilot.

The display drew outrage, with Iowa Lawmaker saying, "I am calling for our governor to have this blasphemous display removed immediately based on the grounds that it is unconstitutional and offends God upon whom the State of Iowa depends for blessings."

"I am calling for clarifying legislation to be adopted in accordance with our State Constitution that prohibits satanic displays in our Capitol building and on all state owned property. I am calling for legislation to be adopted that makes it legal to display the Ten Commandments in our Capitol, in all buildings owned by the state, and in our public schools."

The display was permitted to be in the capital building for two weeks, and featured a mirrored, caped statue of Baphomet, complete with a black and red "holiday wreath" with a pentagram in the center.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

JUST IN: Christian vet who beheaded Satanic statue at Iowa Capital charged with hate crime

Michael Cassidy has been charged with a hate crime for beheading a statue of Satan at the Iowa Capitol. Cassidy drove up to Iowa after the Satanic display was erected in the state capitol and took it down. He will be arraigned on February 15.

Polk County prosecutors charged Cassidy with felony third-degree criminal mischief, saying that he acted "in violation of individual rights" under Iowa's hate crime statue, the Des Moines Register reports.

Cassidy had been charged with a misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief the day after the beheading but had been informed that he may be liable for further charges.

Spokesman for the Polk County Attorney's Office Lynn Hicks said that "Evidence shows the defendant made statements to law enforcement and the public indicating he destroyed the property because of the victim’s religion." This is what resulted in the hate crimes charge.

Hicks further elaborated on how much it would cost to replace the statue of Baphoment constructed by the Satanic Temple, which would be between $750 and $1,500. The extremely litigious Satanic Temple had filed their own damage estimate, saying that it would be $3,000 to replace the statue.

Cassidy, a former military officer who ran for Congress, pushed over and decapitated the statue of Baphomet, which had been put up by members of the Satanic Temple of Iowa. The Satanic Temple had been given permission for the display. Cassidy discarded the head of Baphomet in the trash.

"My conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted," Cassidy said at the time. He has raised $84,000 for his legal defense on his GiveSendGo and Turning Point USA pledged $10,000 to help. Cassidy spoke at Turning Point USA's America Fest in Phoenix in December 2023, saying that the statue "was an abomination."

He said that people need to wake up to what is happening in the world. "They may think it's a joke that they triggered us but the devil is real and we have to be ready," he said.

A pointless and retarded sacrifice of his freedom. Tearing down the statue accomplishes absolutely nothing. The altar itself doesn't do anything.
Putting up an altar in a capitol building like this is a symbolic gesture, to show and flaunt that the worshipers of Baphomet rule over Iowa, that they rule over the spineless Jehovah-worshipers. The lawmakers whose loyalties and idol-worship are plainly on display, remain live and well, completely untouched by his actions. In time, they will set up a new statue to demonstrate just how powerless the christcucks are.

So, some cringey LARPing faggot went and wrecked a "satanic Idol" that belongs to a bunch of edgelord fags. I'm glad people are really tackling the pressing issues of society.

It looks like something teenagers would put in their rooms to piss of their Christian fundie parents. Since I know a little about the demographics in Iowa I'm not surprised. It's mostly white so they still think it's the 80's or something. They don't have to worry about niggers. Instead, they let a bunch of edgy faggots troll them real hard.

What he did was also a symbolic gesture and hopefully lays a brick for the foundation of resisting these people.

enjoy prison, christcuck.png

He got charged with a hate crime for taking down the statue. Baphomet's worshipers get to sleep sound, knowing that anybody who insults their god will be sent to the peepeepoopoo rape dungeon. The jew-diciary is throwing the book at him.
Does any of this sound like a W to you?

I've said this earlier, Christians never learn to think critically. I knew hate crime charges would be levied against this person because they chose destruction of property; less legalese, they chose violence. Even if you think that violence is justified, stop, think, and really ask yourself if the hill you're defending is really worth dying on. I'll re-iterate, to really show a protest to the statue would have been to peacefully assemble with clergy as well as community members in the halls. Snuff it out with goodness. But no, instead we got brash, unthought out, reactions that end up getting good people's rights taken away for no good reason.

Whatever.

They aren't even edgelord fags, they are a political org that pretends to be edgelord fags.

Not if you have zero foresight, but even if nothing comes from this or hopefully similar future acts of resistance, at least not everybody is going along without so much as a peep.

If the rise of Satanism isn't the hill Christians will die on, what would be?

That's your choice, I'm saying it is a dumb one, you're not fighting Satanism by decapitating a statue. Progressives aren't fighting racism by tearing down confederate statues. If you really want to fight Satanism, get up your senator's asshole and force their hands on Satanic rights such as pedophila and the murder of children. But, I suppose if decapitating the superficial is a hill you consider worthy of dying on, whatever. It is retarded. Religion and the Religious are retarded.

Why would Christians care about your opinion over Biblical examples? Your argument is simply 'think of the optics'. Destroying property associated with idol worship is righteous. 2 Chronicles 29+ gives an account of spiritual revival through Hezekiah.

It starts out:
Leads to destroying all the existing altars and statues (images)
2 Kings reiterates this same account and emphasizes that this was a righteous act. They even desecrate the tombs and burn the bones of false preachers.

Jesus famously was 'violent' with the money changers at the temple. He angrily made a whip and beat them out:

Jesus and the apostles spent large amounts of time in prison. Old Testament prophets were often exiled or killed. You misunderstand what Christians care about:
Matthew 10:28, And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Galatians 1:10, For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

If Cassiday is jailed for some excessive amount of time for opposing open satanic displays that will just make him a martyr. It condemns the world and not him. God repeatedly gives societies and people chances, while simultaneously convicting them. For example, Isaiah (6:8-11) is tasked with preaching not to make people believe but to shut their hearts and destroy their societies. Jesus is the ultimate example of this, where He was mocked and tortured even though he was the rightful ruler and messiah.

tl;dr: Cassiday acted Biblically and any overly harsh punishment is an indictment on the society not Christians.

Why would Christians care about your opinion over Biblical examples?
You're absolutely correct, you're retarded for caring about me not caring about your faith. Thanks for time in justifying violence through biblical examples, what a good Bush conservative you are. Islamists, Christians, Jews, Judeo Christian faiths, all violently justified by words that have been re-written numerous times throughout history by mortals.

Let me ask you then, if Christians don't care about my opinion, why should I care about there opinion on abortions? Why should I classify the acts of this man any differently to that of the left tearing down statues? Because of your faith? Fuck you, I don't care about your faith. But when I see an opportunity to preach pacifism, I will fucking take it. This situation should have been handled differently. It would have been a net benefit as well, heck, a headline even at a local level about how a community responds to obvious troll could have boosted moral. But nah, I'm just a dude whose opinion doesn't matter because I lack the ability to pull bible passages out of my asshole. My loss, I suppose.

I don't expect you to care, I just pointed out that property destruction is not always unrighteous according to the Bible. You said a Christian shouldn't tear down the statue and I cited why that wasn't necessarily true. You are pretending that Christian moral convictions should match your own, which they don't. I'd also call it a stretch to say this particular incident was violent, but it was still a secular crime.

You also mistakenly believe the Bible is the source of moral authority for a Christian. While it is a guide and textbook it is ultimately the Holy Spirit acting in the believer. Just like reciting sentences from physics textbook doesn't mean you understand physics.

And why is pacificism good? You want to "preach pacifism" but on what grounds? If there is no God, then it should be survival of the fittest. The male lion kills the cubs that aren't his, the spider eats her partner, the army subjugates the people, lefties capture institutions, etc. Those with power can exercise it on others, the goal should be to gain it. So communism or islam, take your choice. "Love your neighbor" and "make peace with all men" would somehow have to be a superseding dictate. Otherwise, you can't justify any charity towards others besides in a strictly quid pro quo sense.

Hate crimes are such a dumb idea. I'd support him being charged for ruining someone's property but damaging a Satanic "idol" that was put up by a bunch of edgy atheists isn't some act of hate against a religious group IMO.
The lawmakers whose loyalties and idol-worship are plainly on display
No one worships idols except Hindus and it's not any more inherently "evil" than drinking communion wine or honoring a saint.
Baphomet's worshipers get to sleep sound
No one worships Baphomet. It's a misunderstanding of the name Mohammed. It was not a deity that people ever worshiped.
Destroying property associated with idol worship is righteous.
No it's not. It wasn't righteous when ISIS destroyed relics from Palmyra or when this sperg chimped out on a devil statue.
If Cassiday is jailed for some excessive amount of time for opposing open satanic displays that will just make him a martyr.
Don't you have to die to become a martyr?
If there is no God, then it should be survival of the fittest.
That's not true. You don't need the Christian God to have morals, or any god at all. "Survival of the fittest" is how life is formed, not a moral teaching on how society should run.
