Oxfordshire: A woman who ‘married’ a ghost but then ‘divorced’ him over cheating allegations is now becoming a nun as her ex-husband is haunting her.
Woman marries ghost
Brocarde, 40, fell in love with the ghost of a Victorian soldier named Edwardo in late 2021 after he turned up at her home and professed his love for her. They got married on Halloween in an abandoned church last year. Their wedding was attended by Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and even Henry VIII. Well, it was open to both the living and the dead!
Woman divorces ghost
Soon after their marriage last year, Edwardo started to ‘ghost’ her for days and Brocarde decided to end the relationship over claims of infidelity. She even conducted an exorcism to get rid of her ghost husband.
However, Brocarde claimed that her ex came back to her life to “haunt” and “stalk” her using bizarre disguises.
Brocarde has now decided to ditch love and become a nun with a vow of celibacy.
But why?
‘I’ll be the naughty nun’: Brocarde
The singer-songwriter noticed that Edwardo would not trouble her when she was in church.
“I am at my wit’s end. He won’t go anywhere near churches or priests so I’m hoping he’s scared of nuns also,” she was quoted as saying by
Mirror.
Brocarde claimed that her ghost husband hated the thought of her dating real men. She hopes that he will “finally rest in peace if I turn to god and a life of abstinence.”
She said that the decision may help Edwardo not feel threatened by other men. She said becoming a nun would be a “blessing in disguise” if it gets her rid of him.
She added, “I don’t know how to cope with no s*x, I’m a very passionate person. I’m not sure praying will be a suitable substitute. I’m also a bit concerned about being confined to one location.”
She said that her free spirit may lead to her becoming “the naughty nun who’s sipping wine under the altar.”
“Becoming a nun is really my final bid to free myself. If this doesn’t work then I do not know what I will do,” Brocarde further said.
