Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Zaluzhny still can enter politics, And since Elensky mandate ends at the end of this March. Ze's enemies(and he has plenty) will rally around Zaluzhny.

The question now is who backs Zaluzhny abroad. Americans seem to be splintered.
It's hard to enter politics when elections have been suspended indefinitely. There won't even be an election so long as Zelensky is breathing

They are definitely splitered. They also seem quite toothless.
Normally Nuland goes to places to deliver orders and expects them to be followed asap. She does not go places to negotiate deals.
She talks at people not with people.

She has been there now in her unplanned emergency visit for days and have still not managed to settle the situation.
That speaks volumes. Not even ukranian leadership takes orders from the US anymore?

She's probably raping and torturing a hohol orphan and won't be done until Sunday. Why do you think the Ukrops made such a stink about Russia taking them in, and sending soldiers (that are needed in the trenches) to actively look and take them in settlements near the front line?

Agent Z is probably too coked up to speak to anyway.

It’s hard to believe they’ve ever followed orders. They’ve made boneheaded decisions often in contravention of what the state department is desperately signaling to Russia. US foreign policy has often been steered by its clients with the US military rowing and some psycho of the week steering the boat. I think for reasons of convenience, deniability, and cost we just arm and inform and offer mercenaries (quietly) and don’t ask questions.

Zaluzhny dares Zelensky to remove him by posting a selfie with the Nazi leader of Right Sector in front of a portrait of the Nazi icon Bandera. I'm not sure what he's holding up - is that like Ukraine's Nazi membership card? Anyway there's a chance Zelensky gets replaced following a totally unforseen unfortunate accident before Zaluzhny does.
I've not really been following the conflict since November but this picture to me comes across as a threat to Zelensky that he will be deposed because Right Sektor was responsible for the coup in 2014. Zelensky has been told multiple times TO HIS FACE by these people that they would depose him if he crossed them. Its hard to gauge the willingness there is in the military to depose Zelensky, by all accounts the troops on the front are largely exhausted and demoralized since the war became a quagmire with a huge attrition rate long ago, its hard for me to see them willing to gamble on a coup mid war. The paramilitary groups though? Inscrutable as always.

The press coverage seems to indicate that she is going from person to person at the top of the government meeting each of them individually. That would typically indicate a government where nobody is working with each other and nobody is in charge anymore.

These are Nuland's people and this was Nuland's policy. If she can't fix this, its impossible to fix.

The usual conclusion in this kind of situation would mean that the man at the top (Zelensky) needs to go. But the problem is that there isn't anyone obvious to replace him with. And elections don't seem a possibility either.

The other thing that might happen is that Nuland's own credibility as the Ukraine Whisperer might collapse

Well, there is one respectable person that is popular with the army, the people and the Pentagon brass.

Zelensky just fired him.

If catastrophic miscalculations leading to foreign policy disasters had any effect on the career prospects of foreign policy ghouls, all these people would have been living out of garbage cans a decade ago.

Could it mean that she is getting a cold hard reality check that her policy is just not working, or is she basically yelling at every person she meets to ignore cold hard reality and fight to the last hohol.

The question is how many of those real threat true-believers (Azov) have already been eliminated in Mariupol and Bakhmut? These guys. How many of them are still alive since this video was made in 2019?

That guy. He'd do it.

I suspect that Azov getting pinned into Mariupol was an intentional act by the central government. There was a point later on when they were POW and the barracks they were being housed in was hit by a Himar strike and many were killed.

I doubt it was planned but once set in motion they certainly let it end the way it did. Half of those UKR POW's blown out of the sky a couple weeks ago were captured Azov and not too many tears are being shed for them

I think having a coup in the middle of a war might not be a good recipe for success, all it takes is for one section of the army to remain loyal to the central government and then you have a civil war on top of the already existing war and unless the new leader of the Ukranian military is the reincarnation of Emperor Aurelian then it will be impossible for Ukraine to deal with both Russia and an army of Ukranian rebels.

But I imagine that it won't come to a coup, at least not anytime soon.

Much worse. I think she is realizing that all of these people have their own agendas and goals and they no longer do what she tells them..
This is a very new experience for Nuland

If she asks "where did it all go wrong?" I'd present as evidence the moment where the Democrats blocked the attempt to track the money and weapons sent to Ukraine.
