Recently, discussion centered around Polissa's hopes that settlement money from a class action lawsuit will give her a significant financial boost. She better not count on that.

I had forgotten that I sent in paperwork some time ago towards a class action settlement until I received a letter today about the outcome and payout. My portion of the settlement would only be a penny. Under the terms of the settlement, anyone set to receive less than a minimum amount set by the court would not receive a payout and their portion(s) would instead go to a charitable cause related to the class action suit.

If something similar happened to Polissa, I can only imagine how salty she'd be about it when the average normie would simply shrug it off, have a good laugh, and move on.

I'd have to disagree. She has shown hints she fancies herself a woman of high intellect. BE the moron? Pissa could never!
In public, sure. But if she could get a bigger tugboat, you bet your ass she'd aim to fail it hard and never admit it. More Jimmy Dean bowls for her, that's all that matters.

The comments keep rolling in on the bill photo. The only new one that heard a peep from Polly:

As it's getting much higher traffic than usual, comments are a mix of other people saying "poor poor pitiful me," people telling her good luck, people calling her an e beggar (whether they realize they're correct or not) and people trying to give her advice and being ignored.

As for the bill itself, I know that Polissa is stretching the truth in some way. Question is to what extent. Is it a quarterly bill, did she plug more shit in than she admits, is this Mamaw's bill and she has to pay little to no of it, etc. I can’t help but think of the grift. As much as she wanted to claim that she wasn't e begging [because Bank of Mom was covering it], she definitely wants to be given pity (which can be used for e begging later). She can't even bother to heart a comment suggesting LIHEAP or to hang on, but she can take the time to call someone Rip Van Winkle because they questioned her proof. I’m more surprised that she’s even heard of Rip Van Winkle than anything.

Polissa definitely has a flavor of learned helplessness, but she also thinks she has enough redneck cunning to game the system. Doctor shopping for someone to diagnose her with fibromyalgia before she was 30 to get on SSDI and justify not getting a job demonstrates that. She'll get reviewed for tugboat again somewhere down the line. She was able to convince the SSA to reinstate hers after it briefly lapsed. I don't know if she'll succeed again. But if it possibly means more JDB cash, she’ll try her damndest. Getting free junk food is the only time she actually bothers to exert any actual effort.

Perhaps I am ignorant/live in an area with a low COL/am more eco friendly than I though but how the fuck are their electricity bills $400+ a month? That one comment saying she pays almost $500 a month when her rent (with water) is $700? The fuck? I understand there can be late fees and such but they're making it sound like they pay $400-500 every month?

Mine RARELY gets over $100 (for 2 people), is it normal for electricity bills to be so intense?

I'll admit that my electric bill runs between $150-250 a month, depending on whether the HVAC system is cooling (electric) or heating (natural gas). I own a cozy house in the 2,000-ish sq ft range in the south, have exotic pets with fairly exact temperature requirements, and am a desert native who hates being cold (snow can fuck right off). There's also constant lighting on throughout this place (yes, even at night because the location of my beginnings had some pretty awesome crime and shit, so I'm a paranoid fuck when it comes to security), tons of electronics and a dipshit goblin who forgets to turn things off. My bill is pretty standard for this region. And BTW, the location of my abode is actually lower in latitude than Muscle Shoals, so closer to the equator. Historical temperature data shows that it gets hotter and more humid here, so my AC has to work harder due to outdoor temperatures and size of the abode (however, I do have proper insulation and no holes in the walls, so there's that).

It's not normal at all. Dipshit is probably running a billion space heaters in her holey trailer, and/or paying off previously unpaid bills via a payment plan.

Apparently alabama has the third highest electricity pricing in the country.

I know when I had PG&E, who are fucking crooks, it wasn’t unheard of for a poorly insulated property to have a $400 bill

Poor insulation + heat pump could very well mean $400 isn’t uncommon

Yet more Pissa snapping at people (including one giving her pointers)
There's a part of maturation most normal hit by about age 13 or so, where you realise there are a lot of unfair things in the world, but they're not going to get fixed in time to get you out of your specific jam. I don't know much about Alabama's energy system, but there are plenty of shady companies that used COVID disruptions or market capture or whatever to price gouge ordinary people. So yeah, sign me up for scrutiny into energy prices. But any sensible person knows if you've got huge energy bills today, you shouldn't be waiting for someone to solve the problem of energy pricing.

Polissa takes it as a personal insult when people give her practical advice because in her mind, she should not have to change anything about her situation to improve it. She literally envisions the world changing around her: price regulation for the energy grid in time for UBI payments IN ADDITION to her existing disability tugboat. It'll give her the confidence she needs to become a rock star, now that society has also separately decided not to prefer attractive performers over ugly ones.

Part of me thinks she can't actually be this dumb. I can see her digging in on her positions online and quietly cutting her consumption when someone else doesn't cover it. Or, more likely, she's inflated the actual amount she owes per month.

You have absolutely nailed Pissa's entire mindset here. Bravo.

Polissa found a dog while out and about yesterday

"This has a happy ending"

If you wanted a more detailed account about this story, Polly provided it on TikTok. Since it's just the same Facebook story with a couple additional details for the TikTok crowd, I'll just recap it.

Polissa recounts her "adventure" the day before. She was at the Helen Keller Hospital's Wellcare Center to sign up for the gym there. She plans to use the pool and cover the bill with the Silver Sneakers program under her Medicare Advantage benefits. After leaving to run more errands, she saw a dog walking around the parking lot. She scooped it up and brought it to the shelter, where I presume the people there tracked the owner via a chip. The dog's name is Lotto and he ran off after a pet sitter accidentally let him escape.

Polly ends the video by making a very basic PSA about adopting pets from the shelter. They are full, so if you live around Muscle Shoals and want a pet right now, go get one right this instant! There is a very passing mention about her pet hoard where she maintains how they are all the light of her life.
