Sega - It's more than just Sonic Autism

what are they going to do if you violate this policy, Block you?
it's not like they can uninstall the hours you spent playing their games like that one episode of spongebob.

considering they are also making like, what, 5 big budget revivals of their sega ip's they must be fucking high to piss everyone off while incurring the costs a big budget crazy taxi, Jet set radio, hand drawn shinobi, multiplayer golden axe and whatever the fuck that streets of rage game will be
SoR 5 - Mobile Tactics Pachinko edition

SEGA are laying off 61 people at SEGA America, every single one of them has pronouns in their bio and is part of localization or QA
Interesting that this is happening just days after a backlash regarding an article where localizers expressed their desire to censor games at the source
Good, fuck em. If in-house localization staff can't fucking behave themselves and stop cutting shit out of stories or inserting western politics into games that don't call for them, they deserve to get their jobs outsourced or given to machines. It's a shame that the union was able to prevent a nice, round 100+ localizers from being laid off. Hopefully they follow suit soon.

Part of being a Sega fan is just watching as they make some of the most asinine decisions possible and somehow continue to stay afloat.

Man, I sincerely hope the Sega fandom learned from the Bud Light campaign on how to tank a company's stock value. I could use more proof that they are right now, IF they are right now.

Worse, it incurred the wrath of...normal people. If you read through the replies to https://twitter.com/SEGA_OFFICIAL/status/1751414554779881713/ there were thousands of people complaining, both western and japanese people who were shown examples of localization changes
This all happened before they fired a bunch of localizers. I'd like to believe as a direct result but I think they always planned on firing them after getting these games out anyway. These were all new short contract hires because a lot of the previous localization staff quit and it shows
For some reason, I cannot see the replies. I didn't need a Twixer before to see them, andd now, I can't see what you mean when you say both sides of the Pacific are livid. Is there a way that I can see the replies without getting an Twixer account?

Yes, i'm calling Twitter(X) "Twixer." I dare Elon to do the same so Twix reacts.

But seriously, demoralization is annoying as hell, is like a leech that sucks out all the hope in your body, and keeps coming the fuck back. I could use a white pill right about now, cuz lemme just say, i'm following this closely for better or worse, and this better end.

Either Sega kicking AIGES out, or they go under.

Sega is like someone going through sundowning -which is the only thing predictable about them.

Let me just say that Sega AGES like 2% whole milk

Sega confirming they're fucking games up, but told in a way as if they are putting concerns to rest lmao
if this shit is a collaborative effort I just need to know who hired yongyea, and for that person to be put in the Japanese closet ignored worker duty immediately

I'm a little apprehensive about the new Crazy Taxi being a modern triple A game, which these days seems to mean "incomplete at launch" and "always-online, even for single-player", but the classic Crazy Taxi games were also AAA for their time. The non-arcade map in the first game on Dreamcast was one of the first road-based open-world maps on consoles that wasn't a total grid and had a decent amount of variety in the scenery and destinations. (The arcade map was semi-open world but it was still essentially a loop.)

It'll be filled with tedium to pad it out, no way it'll be even remotely an arcade experience. I bet there'll be tons of gay missions in any case, and I mean literally, like taking homos on dates.

On the plsu side, a 1999 prototype of Space Channel 5 was dumped

Interesting tidbit (at least to me)
Michael Jackson was present in the game, and Ulala met his virtual counterpart, called Space Michael for the occasion. He was hypnotized by the aliens. According to his character profile, he had saved the world 500 years ago by dancing - a nod to the King of Pop, who was eager to appear in Space Channel 5. The American singer-songwriter discovered the game during a visit to SEGA. Enthralled by the concept, he asked how he could integrate Space Channel 5. While the idea appealed to Mizuguchi, time was short, as the game was nearing the end of its development process. The solution was to make him appear as a cameo in the game. It took only a fortnight for the title's programmers to grant his wish. He would be more actively involved in the second installment, Space Channel 5: Part 2. Michael Jackson had also recorded voice commands that were ultimately not used in SC 5; they were discovered in a European prototype of the game dated April 20, 2000.
