No need for shame, TPTB are as clever as they are wicked, they figured out exactly which buttons to press in what order and then played them like Liszt. Or maybe I say this simply because I too was fooled. If my memory of the timeline serves correct, I started masking shortly after they were splashed across /pol/, which was before it was all blown monstrously out of proportion. And sharply stopped as soon as it was demanded of me. For the most part.
It's also a very interesting theory and one I definitely agree with. Makes one wonder what else they have in the pipeline (and in which pipes!). Their sociopaths are always a half step ahead of our schizos. My guess is the UAP/ayylmao news fodder.

100% followed the same pattern. I believe also the media handwaving away any reports or worries saying basically "just a flu bro" or "you don't need a mask, just wash your hands and don't touch your face!" generated credibility in the face of the imageboard astroturfing. They correctly identified that autists are extremely effective at disseminating information within their networks/communities.

You remember also they would plaster on every screen massive government incompetence (cruise ship "rona" outbreak handled with zero precautions) and reporting barely any testing is being done. All of this was to get the autists' backs up and suspect a mass coverup, lending credibility to the now totally discredited Bullshit-19 narrative. One of the first times we've ever seen them target the sperg and conspiratard demographics.

And then total narrative whiplash as they 180'd everything and went full mask commissar is when i realized we were on a ruse cruise and totally stopped giving a shit.

Forget even digging into the numbers. The blatant hypocrisy of the US govt before and after the BLM riots made everything clear as day. It was really like whiplash to see the total change in tone towards the so called super deadly disease.

I know people with strange new ailments and even someone now suffering from "long COVID". All vax cattle and never questioning where or why or what these may have started from. The ones that are peak soy and I fucking love science reddit phenotypes I don't think will ever put 2 and 2 together.
Right now, COVID is burning through work (again) and no one comments on maybe why that is (besides complaining about being in the office). No mention of the mandates forcing everyone to take it.

I just think the genie's out of the bottle and too many people are over it to the extent that even if it were a universally dangerous zombie virus, you wouldn't be able to enforce anything.

Looking back on it what I find suspicious is that immediately there were tales of crazies licking and ruining $10k worth of groceries and other ridiculous nonsense. It took me a full year to feel even a tenth that reactionary to the restrictions. Not saying I was compliant the whole time, no what I'm saying is that I wasn't ever a cornered animal about it. I know there's people with a very fragile threshold of sanity, but sometimes I think those very first cases of people trying to spread the disease or flaut mandates in a showy way were to prime the public: you don't want to look unhinged, do you? If anyone can find those people and how much jail time they're doing or what fines they paid, and what they're doing now, I'd be surprised.

Moving into the future, we all have had experiences with the kinds of people that are still holding on to covid era policies...and they're a bunch of dorks. It'll be easier now to say to them mind your own business nerd.
