I wouldn't take the moral high-ground too much. The Ukranian people were subject to the highest levels of US psyop and funded media and social manipulation. Here is an address to the Ukranian parliament in November 2013, just a little before the Maiden coup. The guy talks about US operations in the Ukraine to foment division and how extensive it is. Watch US backed politicians repeatedly shout him down and stamp their feet.
Plenty of Ukranians knew the truth but good luck getting their voices heard in the media and we haven't even touched on the fact that Azov nazis were beating the living shit and even killing people for voicing opposition. Do you really think we in the West are so much more immune to this? We just let the powers that be lock us in our homes for a year on no medical evidence and spend tens of billions on "vaccines" that are actively harmful. If you wonder why I'm pushing back on you for this it's that line about "lust for gibs". Hell, if that's all it was Russia was offering a better deal than the EU which is one reason they started backing out of the EU deal which then nudged CIA to go full Colour Revolution. Kiev elites and their kids =/= Ukranians as a whole is the gist of what I'm getting at.

In the short term basically everything takes a hit the economy, the military, and administration. It takes time to fix those things in the best of times.
The main benefit Ukraine could get out of a purge is getting rid of corruption which would help a lot but Ukraine doesn't have time for medium/long term actions. If you are in the middle of a war you need everything right now and you can't invest resources to purging people.
That being said Zelensky could be just firing a couple people which ultimately changes nothing. But it doesn't sound like it. The SBU might be very busy soon.
The correct thing to do if you can't purge is to create new positions and those new positions actually have power and old positions just kind of sit there and collect a salary.
