Wikipedia really lost me with the whole Haruhi Problem debacle. Basically a /sci/ thread actually proved a new result in mathematics, and wikipedia refused to cite the actual thread, saying that it wasn't trustworthy. The article they chose to cite directly used the thread as its own source.

Wikipedia has a policy where you literally cannot do any sort of research or first hand reporting, you HAVE to get your information laundered by a "trusted source" for them to accept it.

I said as much in the Coach RedPill thread, when the Wiki Tranny-jannies were openly debating on deleting his article over "not being notable enough", even with multiple sources listed, they ALWAYS came up with a shitty excuse as to why that source was "not allowed" or "MiSiNfOrMaTiOn". That's the problem with Wikipedia, or any purported "reference" piece. The instant that any bias or favortism creeps in, you immediately lose ALL integrity, respect, and trust. While the intention behind Wikipedia might have been noble at first, and the original idea of an open-source free place for information is one I 100% agree with, it very quickly became all about propaganda and "correcting the narrative". And with them and other institutions and platforms going all digital, it is truly a horrifying and worrying trend, that someone can literally be un-personed with a click of a button because they "did a transphobia" and got some trannie's panties in a twist. Or actual historical events can be digitally transformed in the name of "DEI", "systematic racism", or whatever the current buzzwords of the time are.

To be fair, it really depends on how it's done. I've used Wikipedia as a source too, but it's mainly the images they have since it's 100% free domain, and it pertains to something that's not open to interpretation, such as science shit. For anything history or politics, Wikipedia is a garbage source. It's all written with a heavy liberal bias which is fine, but they fail to disclose it.

There's ways to do it right but it shouldn't be encouraged. I've read several opinion pieces claiming Wikipedia is very accurate and reliable, guess what's the bias of these outlets? "A source that panders to our worldview is a good source" -- fuck yourself.
