The difference is that the Phillipines is a small country with a tiny ladder to success, so the best have to look elsewhere to progress. In India the ladder to success is too far away, so they look for places where they can at least touch the bottom rung.

I'm not shocked that Poilievre did this. Conservatives are afraid to be conservative in Canada. Because they know if they do, then Ontario will hiss and seethe and vote Liberal to spite everyone. Ontario after Mike Harris "conservative" meant something completely different. Conservatives in Ontario are neoliberals. They don't care about social issues like abortion or gay/trans and they're not religious. They won't ever vote for someone showing event a hint of religious conservatism at the federal level. If you're not a Harris brand conservative (also known as a "blue Tory") you are unelectable in Ontario.

Just for laughs but Mike Harris made it legal for women to go topless in Ontario absolutely everywhere outside a place of business and Doug Ford encouraged a marijuana dispensary in every strip mall. These ain't "conservatives".

That said, people who can recognize and who opposed the way this country is going are very, very rare.

I think that a large number of people have a sense of what's wrong, but they just need to snap out of the programming our 3 part (Lib, PC, NDP to be clear. Green is a joke), effectively single party, neolib voltron government has been instilling for decades. Richmond BC or any of the hundreds of China Towns are an effective QED against multiculturalism.

I used to think nothing could ever make me at all racist, but that was due to a fundamental misunderstanding of the term. Most people would agree certain cultures do things different ways, so you can make reasonable assumptions about people from those cultures. I'm incredibly mad at Pajeets and have a lot of predispositions against them, but I also know plenty of good ones; some of whom are friends that are sick of these assholes too. Good people exist in all corners of the Earth, but we have evolved keen instincts that pretty reliably tell us when we're looking at someone who will only drag us down.

As an aside, I just can't bring myself to hate Sikhs. They are consistently some of the kindest, most hospitable people I have had the pleasure of interacting with in this country.

Ask older women that you know well enough what they think of Arab men. They'll use a lot of hedging in their language, but 9 times out of 10 they will describe a general discomfort. These women aren't Klan members otherwise, and they aren't actively plotting to drive out their towelhead neighbors, so they have this sort of dissonance where they think they could never harbor racial/cultural biases.

Same here; it's painful to watch. I have been bitching for years about our lack of infrastructure, government corruption, incompetence, etc. to anyone who would listen. Everyone born in this country has known firsthand that every essential service we have sucks for decades now. No one ever disagreed with a single one of my points. We have a big problem with political inaction and lack of accountability when it comes to large institutions like governments, banks, telecoms, etc. People need to get mad, become unhinged and annoying, and make a fucking scene until these faggots regret ever crossing them. You can't get people to treat you fairly by reasoning with them if they don't give a fuck about you in the first place; make it their problem.

Yes; although the CPP is not facing insolvency like the Social Security Administration is in the States. But this is emblematic of immigrants generally: well over 90% of immigrants in Canada are net drains on the public finances. That is to say, the cost of government services they consume is greater than the amount they contribute in taxes, if any. And since the Trudeau Liberals are flooding the country with thousands of these people literally every day, that means literally every day the state of public finances and therefore services get worse. If you've noticed your paying more for less in government over the past few decades, this is the major reason why. When immigration is sensibly limited both in terms of numbers as well as making sure the immigrants themselves will be net contributors, it's not a problem. But nothing the Trudeau Liberals do is sensible or limited.

BTW in Canada there's something called the Resettlement Assistance Program, under which eligible immigrants receive direct cash payments from the federal government. Read up on it if your blood pressure isn't high enough.
