General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

None of the companies you are thinking of will hire her. No, not Hololive. Even Dtto's company wouldn't touch her. Maybe PC or Vshojo but I can't see any of the others. Not even Idol after they partnered with Brave group. It's on the level of Coco getting kicked out of an event after she graduated, Chinese companies wanted her gone.
I doubt Selen/Dokibird even gives a shit. She's probably never planning on joining another Japanese company anyway. And its largely irrelevant; major western corpos like Vshojo and Phase Connect are established, and Niji has no pull with them at all. They would gladly let Doki in through the door. Niji don't have a strangle hold on the industry, and if say, Hololive, were to bring her in, there's nothing they could really do about it.

NIGGERSANJI
NijiNigger rolls off the tongue better.
Honestly, I'm more offended at just how incompetent Nijisanji is
That's what makes this better. Them being retarded ontop of petty.

with the melon chick apparently she got an nda last night
This is extreme level of incompetence. They're not just petty, they're actually stupid
at this point you have to ask if they're incompetent or retarded. really unprofessional to send ndas with wrong names multiple times
This is so fucking incredible.
The only body of power I have seen be more malevolent, petty, and retarded in one go is the US Government and they're hard to top. I am genuinely curious how nijisanji was founded. Is it just scotch tape, glue, and sticks all held together with wads of cash in a get money quick scheme that somehow is still afloat? It seriously feels like the CEO saw vtubers were big, went, "I bet we could make some money off this if we just grab a bunch of people throw some small sums of money at them to start and take 90% of their shit after and if they manage to make it for a year we break even or do better. We won't even have to do any work beyond that." And just went with it or what.

Straight up, they paid a woman and sent her an NDA AFTER.
LOL. I wouldn't sign that. Fuck you I got paid already.
And that's not even the HALF of it. It had someone else's name in it! God I wish we could get more info on Niji they deserve to be documented and get a thread on them alone at this point.

I did see an interesting point though - Niji paying for things is practically unheard of and they're surprised that we're surprised that Selen has had to pay for things. It does strike me as a little strange that several artists would come out after the fact and say "oh yeah, I ALSO got paid by Selen and my NDA is fucked up." I don't know what they would expect Niji to be paying for. I get the impression Niji only pays for new outfits and the official 3D model.
IIRC it's known if you dig that Niji are huge penny pinchers, only pay for the bare minimum for their talents, and only if the talent shows suitable growth. The average (especially Anglosphere) fan however doesn't look beyond surface details and naturally equates typical Western actions with them - when the business reality given Japanese autism is far different. Hell Hololive isn't much different than Niji with certain things for example.

The disconnect is coming from these fans now discovering this aspect and reacting accordingly. This shitshow is basically what happens when your carefully cultivated public image winds up crashing and burning in real time.

As expected, Fulgur's forthcoming tweet was something that needed time to cook. He's always particularly mature in times like these. (Vezalius also ignored the event, but he has his own event going on so whatever).

There's a thinly veiled "fuck Niji" post near the top of /r/Hololive now too. It's not that interesting because that subreddit is particularly well-behaved, so I'm not bothering to reproduce it here.

Whether that's the artist expecting it for no reason, Selen expecting it from her company (airhead moment), or Niji promising it even though they never do that (???) I have no clue.

... Which is why I said I'd like other peoples' opinions on artists coming outta the woodwork to say "Niji didn't pay me, Selen had to in the end!" When as far as I'm aware, the pattern has been Niji NEVER pays, so expecting it is ridiculous.

I agree that cover wont hire her due to their ties with niji. Their joint "anti-harassment" scheme with niji looks really bad for them now
I don't think Niji have enough pull to stop events from allowing her or other companies members from collabing with her, any attempt to do so will reflect REALLY badly on that company, eg if cover wont let Axel and Altare collab with her it'd cause problems with their own talents, causing that kind of trouble when niji are blatantly obviously in the wrong could start a fan revolt against them too

I'm assuming that, like with the NDAs, Nijisanji says like ten different things when you ask them. The lack of consistency in communicating with outside vendors is itself a major red flag - why is there not some kind of single person managing procurement? Also, even if the talents are ultimately paying out of pocket, Niji should be facilitating the payments because they're better equipped to handle things like disputes, credit, general bank autism, etc.

The reason why everyone is surprised is because it makes the entire company look like an amateur clownshow. Hell, I wouldn't accept a job for $15k from a company where I can't get a clear answer on who pays me and doesn't give any real assurances on that payment.

i just hope she wont stream Apex full-time.
that's the money paw right here:
- can play any game she wants
- apex 24/7

from my experience at best this means there's zero communication and the usual left hand/right hand stuff. otoh that usually shows in contradictions, not total operational incompetence (assuming each hand still knows what to do).
it reeks more of having zero procedures - which is baffling for a company as established as niji, or more likely people don't give a shit and proceed to be lazy/dumb/assholes because there is no oversight and no one that can nail their ass for fucking up - which again isn't a good show for the company as a whole. you'd expect at some point jp hq takes note and brings down the hammer from up top (again especially since they're an established company, they should know by now how to handle things), which inevitably is a bad showing for niji proper.

just compare the difference in how cover handled rushia and mel. not saying they're 1:1 comparable since mel didn't fuck up as hard, but still there's a clear learning curve.

fans who haven't left at this point are retarded parasocials
more like the opposite. while she was leaning into the whole GFE thing, people forget she was a good entertainer before and outside that. if anything the parasocials have moved on, the rest stayed for the entertainment.

one way or another...

/r/Nijisanji is on fire. Rules regarding PLs broken left right and center, non-Niji content (i.e., Doki fanart and links) all over the place, mods doing absolutely nothing to moderate the shitshow. The presumption is that they're as angry as the rest of the posters are.
Niji's subreddit is under direct Nijisanji control, there are no non-company mods, and seeing as the company is incompetent and neglectful, no one has thought to actually go in and manage things.
Late and I might be wrong here, but in actuality, the /r/Nijisanji itself was made by a fan for nijifans before Nijisanji decided to take control of it at some point. In the usual niji style, the original creator and the mods was given 2-month notice and not even doing things like talking about it beforehand.

I guess that, while they still do their janny job when the news about Selen's Last Cup of Coffee cover getting privated going around the subreddit, the termination of Selen was just... so bad that everyone just revolted and the jannies aren't doing things or just like Close said, angry alongside everyone.

Did she really pull out a receipt to prove that she was hospitalized? lol
hey you're on the farms, you know what it means to have receipts.

Why do Japanese documents always look like the simplest and most easily forgeable documents ever?
I assume because they mean nothing without the stamp, most people don't have access to etc.

Niji EN lacks the relevancy they used to have to, when they first hit the Anglosphere they presented themselves as more care-free and relaxed than Holo EN. Holo EN isn't as uptight as they used to be and now you have loads of new EN companies like Vshojo, Phase, and Idol and they all have their own little niche that makes them appealing and all three come off way less restricted than the Japanese corpos.

I'm still baffled with how (if true) managements sent wrong NDA to multiple people and multiple times. That's not just amateur hour, that's a complete lack of efforts. This is some corporate/startup nepo hires level of incompetence

In Sayu's doc she mentioned that the manager Niji gave her only had like 2 weeks of work experience and he had another manager overseeing him, I guess for job training. Very amateur stuff especially from a company that seems to be so big and even has stock investors. If Niji collapsed entirely I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up hearing that Riku just got in way too deep over his head, that mixed with Japanese corporate autism culture is a deadly combination.

Not Pomu is doing an X space, a sort of audio-only livestream with really bad live chat. The topic of discussion appears to be some manner of gacha game. She is in Tokyo. Also I can't bring myself to not post about her.

Talk has now moved on to makeup routines, how ugly she is and was as a child, her dance class, and how she'll be meeting a tall and loud friend later. The tall and loud friend is not who we are thinking of maybe but maybe some of us are thinking of her so maybe. Her words. They are also not from a country that "speaks France".

More X posts from Niji EN livers.

Millie finally posts, doesn't appear to be paying any attention, or is too damn brick-headed to understand how to navigate this situation.

Kunai (who?) doesn't care.

Kotoka doesn't care. The Japanese is basically the exact same as the English. Rev up your rrats.

Doppio is being adorable. I like Doppio.

Waiting only on Elira, Petra, Luca, Shu, Vox, Scarle, Wilson, and Claude.
