Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

Long names is apparently a light novel thing, the site the nips use for them shows titles more readily then it shows summaries so people basically make long ass titles to get around it. There are exceptions like Overlord that became popular without it but most try to game the system for eyeballs.
What are you guys watching for Spring? I think I'm going to only watch Black Butler and The Duke Of Death And His Maid. And since Moonlit Fantasy is going to have 25 eps, I guess that counts too?
Mushoku Tensai, and Konosuba for sure. Slime-reincarnation and Irregular at Magical Highschool too, but I'm not confident about either after their last seasons. Spice and Wolf, but my expectations for completely unnecessary remakes are near zero. Assorted fantasy/isekai that I will probably bounce off of.

Started combing through the stuff from this season...can't say I'm super impressed by what I've seen so far. Oh well. Frieren is still good, Undead Unluck is still good, Urusei Yatsura is still good. If nothing else interests me, I can still say I got those and just wait until Mushoku Tensei and Konosuba come back in Spring. Then again, I have a reputation as a "hater", so feel free to disregard everything I just said.
New Konosuba is what the world needs after all these goonclown years.

Exprosions!
I'm soyjacking hard over the new Konosuba, but there's a specific schizo voice that's telling me that I'm going to walk away from it disappointed. I'm wondering if my taste has changed so much in the years since the last thing (the movie) came out that I'll find it stupid instead of funny. I already thought JC Staff butchered the animation of the movie by making it look too mediocre and generic, so I'm not exactly looking forward to more of it. The bad animation was part of the charm, imo.

They made more Mahouka? Jesus fucking Christ, I thought the second season was already an example of the anime industry resurrecting a corpse that needed to stay dead and buried when it came out, and that was years ago at this point. I can't imagine there's any fanbase for that left at this point, I mean I was in high school when I first watched it and I'm now a grown ass man with bills and stuff. Oh well. Back when I was in my autistic teenager phase and thought I would be the next Digibro/Geoff "Cuck" Thew by watching every single anime, I would have been irrationally MATI, but now I've figured out that I can just not watch things I don't like.

Spice and Wolf being so old it's in the remake zone makes me feel very, very old. I'm not confident that it'll be good, either. A lot of recent remakes (Rurouni Kenshin, anyone?) have shattered the rose-colored glasses I viewed shows from my childhood with.

don't forget 5 moon runes are itself half a novel.
also leads to ace names like The Maiden Rape Assault - Violent Semen Inferno

This is getting an anime

I think due to the success of Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable, you will possibly see a rise of gyarus in the countryside getting the attention they deserve, when compared to the ones in the city.

Either way, I’ve been reading this since 2021, so I hope this one is good.

Nagabros & Nagasisters, it has happened.
We are so back.
Don’t forget the best part:
Senpai makes sure to not let Nagatoro forget that they have to have their first kiss soon. They were are about to kiss on the beachside, until she stops him since they were in public. 😂

The discussion on Twitter in re:anime and Japanese games has also apparently reached that part of the cycle where people say “Oh, you find sexy character designs aesthetically pleasing instead of hecking problematic like me and my online pals do, then go watch porn, weirdo freaks!”
reminds me of the people who say the romans were fags because they made plays mocking faggots, which had to have people play fags in them
because that's how these things work

Villainess Level 99 has been fun so far, though I took a look at the manga and based on what I saw it's gonna fall off somewhat in quality and turn into what's essentially slice-of-life.

Are colored mangas any good, i ask this because i want to read parasyte and heard the colored version is good.
To be honest I don't dabble in them, except for JoJo's, and its deliberate and varied color palettes. Part 7 is the best JoJo stories ever get, so I'd recommend that one.

none of the colored manga I've read have been an offensive experience. Some series' action scenes that I found difficult to follow in monochrome were made considerably easier with color.

Should we try to strong arm Null into watching anime because a number of us donated to the Legal fund? I feel like suggestions here or another thread with your or another mod giving the final list over.

I've never seen a writer/mangoka/whatever so desperate to be done and fuck off. What a way to make the most underwhelming and lame climax in shonen.

JJK is legitimately a really bad story. It's incredibly hard to find anything redeeming about it. Even the character I most like and enjoy arguably coasts by on plot. Really astonishes me how popular it is when even the braindead enjoyment slop it gives is bad. People desperately need their battle shounen after the biggies died I guess. Shit's not even enjoyably bad.

Toji reads like a fucking fanfic character and is even brought back like one for a time with the worst excuse imaginable just to die again for nothing.

Wait...the protagonist of the series doesn't get to beat the bad guy? The author's retarded, overpowered self-insert who had to be kept out of most of the story because he was too strong did? Lmao.

I enjoyed Shibuya, but it was mainly for the holy shit factor of the fighting. From a story standpoint, I don't think JJK was ever that good, but it shocked me how bad it immediately got in comparison after Shibuya ended. Normally, Jump manga just gradually turn bad. With JJK it was like a switch was flipped and it was immediately bad enough to rival Kimetsu no Yaiba.

When Maki pulled an Itachi Uchiha and killed her whole family, and then the series tried to justify it because they were rude or something, that's when I knew JJK was irredeemably bad.

I flipped around the last english chapter and it looks like the guy from the 0 comic is more of a main character than the actual main character.
He was intended to be or so I've heard.

Even Shibuya was bad, come on. It was all meaningless spectacle. Retarded fist fights that meant nothing because no one ever showed any sign of injury until they had their fucking limbs broken off. You can't tell me Jogo's "fight" was good or that Toji's "fight" was good. It's all nonsense and drivel. No one shows any signs of actually being fatigued until they finally lose. There's no tension whatsoever. It astonishes me how anyone can enjoy them.
Out of curiosity, why do you look down on Demon Slayer? It's average at best, I know, but it manages to do something right, even if it does fuck up especially more than a few times.

don't you love your YAAAS QUEEEEN like retarded redditors do?
