On the "why download it question", there's an angle that I haven't seen brought up. Of course, as others have pointed out, one reason is to protect against websites going down or material getting removed. There's another common reason, though: many people keep porn on their devices in order to share it with others.

A lot of people share that with each other and don't apparently see anything weird about it, as long as they're not "using" it together. They go: "Oh hey, this is an esoteric vore subcategory that my buddy is into. Don't worry I gotchu bro lemme shoot that to you over Telegram real quick". This is relatively common even among 100% heterosexual coomers- they see it as no different from sharing a meme or a youtube video or something.

I'd wager that ERP/group goonerism (indispensable to any self-respecting upwardly-mobile leftist internet activist) is probably where you see most of the really big collections on hard drives, though. Can you imagine having to go search out the exact images you're looking for each time in those contexts, when you're spamming something like 90 of them per hour in context-dependent situations? Unthinkable unless you're got the quickest one-hand mouse-and-keyboard coordination in the Western hemisphere.

This might come as a shock but Vaush is inconsistent on every point he makes:
He also argued for CP not being unethical, since we, as a society, are consuming products that are made with unethical child labour.

I like that he was smart enough to name the folder that probably has illegal images in it something non-obvious, but not smart enough to keep it separate from the rest of his goon stash so it's still very obvious.
