@Android Raptor Hate Thread

She made a few quite thoughtful posts in one of the threads I was in before Christmas. I do not hate her at all. She can be quite funny, although we disagree on a hell of a lot, so what? I don’t need people to agree with me
The mother in me can see the damage done as a kid and I am angry at the people who did that.

I am curious now as to which creature can give humans the most diseases. My guess is other humans, pigeons or bats but I am going to look it up.

Other humans followed by non-human primates and dogs and cats iirc. Basically the more closely related it is to humans, the more diseases it can give them (and vice versa since humans can give many diseases to non-human primates, for example). Anything that's not a mammal isn't going to be able to give as many diseases as mammals.

I know most cases of rabies in humans are actually caused by feral cats and dogs, particularly in developing countries (India has a bunch, which is related to the Indian vulture crisis causing an explosion in the feral dog population).

There's a reason why bites from cats and dogs are considered the worst non-venomous animal bites you can receive after bites from humans.

This is true. I remember being in Thailand years back and seeing Thais feeding strays just protecting their hands with a plastic bag or something. Points for animal compassion but risky.
Bats have really strange immune systems, they can kind of tolerate diseases that most other animals would get dissolved by and then pass them on.
Did you know some ants are almost sterile ? They clean themselves so thoroughly they don’t even harbour many bacteria

Roaches are like that too actually, they spend a lot of time cleaning themselves and will start cleaning if you've been handling them a while because they don't like oils and grime humans get on them.

Hissing roaches even have a beneficial mite that lives only on their bodies and eats food scraps and helps clean places the roaches can't reach easily.

Sure humans do the most heinous things daily but that's why we have big cars that can run people over.

Maybe not all, but certainly the wealthiest and most powerful ones since they cause a disproportionate amount of harm (like the CEOs and politicians they're in bed with who deregulate environmental protection shit as much as possible). Also all zoosadists.

Unfortunately lots of people use their cars to intentionally run over wildlife, like snakes and turtles.
