Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

The one and only. Freezing at least got two anime adaptions, difference is that Freezing has a Japanese lead and takes place in Japan. His other work Unbalance x Unbalace takes place in Korea.
I remember Freezing both because the author clearly has some sort of deranged fetish for schoolgirls getting limbs torn off, and because there was one particularly off the rails subplot where the main girl's brother tries to rape her and is inexplicably forgiven because he loves his girlfriend or something. It's like the author saw the Steven Universe meme and decided he could take it even further.
On a different note, I'm 4/5ths through Legend of The Galactic Heroes and it continues to outdo itself in terms of storytelling. I found myself seriously liking characters I initially found a bit grating, and the most recent episodes I watched had an emotional gut punch that hit way harder than I could ever have expected. It really is a wild ride and I can see why it's so highly recommended.

I don't ever want to see another Korean webtoon get adapted into anime.

still don't get what the big deal is
do petite women just not exist to these people?
"child-coded" = pedo.
down to the argument that anime faces are always "young", which inevitably means children, and in current year you can't watch anything involving a child that's merely cute without the subconscious urge to fuck it. yes, it's that retarded. and you can always assume anyone dropping that argument has a stash of real CP somewhere due to the heavy projecting...

it's weird how they promote grooming children but showing adults who look younger than they are is some form of pedophilia
really makes you think

When Maki pulled an Itachi Uchiha and killed her whole family, and then the series tried to justify it because they were rude or something, that's when I knew JJK was irredeemably bad.
🤮
Never again.
Glad I didn't read JJK.
Hate that shit-eating weasel.

Solo Leveling sounds like the most generic shit possible but that's typical for most Korean webcomics.
Tldr for first episode is that the modern day Seoul(?) has demons invade and from that people discover magic and fucking dungeons appear, which must be cleared or the demons invade through them into the real world. And every person has a magic core that says how OP you are, and that core never changes so you are absolutely fucked if you rolled low on birth and want to be an adventurer (legit they have "modern day adventurer guild" which basically makes the whole dungeon delving a corpo gig with F-SSS adventure levels like it's fucking Monster Hunter). The hero of course has retardedly weak magical core but despite it he tries to be an adventurer to.... <pulls a card out of a hat> his sister needs to go through college and his mother needs a surgery that can't be healed with magic for some reason out of the insane reason is that you can make it big in that gig, as if there isn't plenty of saner ways to make money that won't get you killed, especially as he is literally level 0 and he risks his party more than help them with nearly no gains until now.
The show pulls a MHA of "the hero is weak but he is smarter for it because obviously people who are good at fighting won't actually invest in learning about the world" which is usual loser cope. Anyways the guy gets with his party into a super special double dungeon, they get into a puzzle boss that, obviously, everyone besides the hero are too stupid to realize and do correctly. And after averting a total party kill the hero gets fucked other by a party member and sacrifices himself for the other members back to safety. The hero dies while cursing the world, except not, he got super special mystery skill from our best friend "voiced menu lady". Next episode he is okay because getting the skill rezzed him, he is in an hospital and he is checked for having his power level increasing, and of course it's the usual bullshit where it haven't increased and I just got bored from there and watched Gintama because it was obvious he'll realize he can now level up his core and beat the staceys and the chads.

It's just godawful world building that might have been unique when it was new, but is bland now. At least shows like GATE realize how retarded they are and had fun with it. Here we have modern day with people entering a dungeon in a fucking sweatpants and wielding daggers, rather than a tactical vest and an AK-47. It's so lazy and pathetic.

By your logic, all sequels made because a given show was popular in China are not anime either. Like Railgun/Accelerator/whatever else Index spawned.
Choosing a Japanese series enjoyed by real live Japanese people is probably not the best example there. I'm talking about IPs coming from foreign countries.

Thank you, Crunchyroll.

Remind me why exactly they keep funding these? Oh, wait, I already said so. Japan could not give a single, solitary fuck about Korean webtoons.

To the wokies and loony troons, if you're not a hambeast or a 6'5" hulking male, you're "child-coded" and everyone who might be in your general area is a pedophile. People who actually diddle kids are not pedophiles, but your boyfriend is.

to be fair, the uchiha were unironically the ninja version of niggers
you give them a position of power no one else gets and they take it as an insult
Imagine how much easier it would've been for Naruto to be good if they'd just NOT made the main series rival into an unlikable douchebag and constucted the entire series afterwards out of excuses to keep him as one.

Eh, he works. Likability for a character is overrated. None of the reveals about the Uchiha changes the fact Sasuke acted like a complete fucking nigger after he got out of a coma and started dosing on Orochimaru's cursed roids. Natural strength, my ass. Every win after he woke up from that coma he got from that shit. Killer B's fight with him was one of the most cathartic moments in the entire damn series, and I love it. Even with hax, boy still lost and got tricked on top of it.

The entire series post-Sasuke&Sai arc is dependent on the audience being as eager to see Sasuke join the good guys as Naruto is. He kinda needs to be a person you enjoy seeing for reasons other than ironically detached schadenfreude at his turmoils. Otherwise you're going to ruin the rest of your cast, which is what happened immediately when Sasuke&Sai began.

lol, no
this is a massive fucking stretch, my dude
where the hell did you get this?

If you honestly think this, I'm not sure what to tell you. The story was never dependent on him. He just helped tie the background plot of the series since Wave at the end, which is bad shit happens in their world and creates human monsters. No one would've cried and little would've been lost if Naruto just killed him after the Five Kage Summit. Hell, Naruto not deciding to kill him or accept he's gone full nigger is one of people's greatest complaints.

The very first chapter lays out Naruto's one goal and what the plot is actually dependent on: him being accepted by everyone. Sasuke was just part of that everyone that went off the deep end. Story arguably would've been better if he just killed him there. Like an actual moment of maturity where he realizes he can't talk everyone down. But it's a shounen.
