I recognize some terminology in these images. It is from a series of teen novels about feral cats living in groups. I used to read them many years ago when I was in high school when they first came out but I never developed an obsession like these cringy creeps; it was simply an entertaining novel series.

It has since suffered the fate of the Percy Jackson series; turned woke and leftard. I have long suspected that this series was one of the vectors of the disease known as furries and this seems to confirm it.

If there's a semi-popular furry animator on YouTube chances are 50/50 they started out in the Warrior Cats fandom. Some people have stuck around but it now enjoys nowhere near the amount of popularity it did at its peak. Literally hundreds of young, hungry artists coming together to animate cartoon kitty cat edge to the sounds of [insert alternative-emo-pop hit here] with varying levels of success. These multi-animator-projects (MAPS) were consistently the bringing in the big views, like millions of hits per video.

Interestingly enough though for the majority of its runtime (I want to say mid 2000s to 2017) the fan art made was focused exclusively on the actual story and characters, and it's only in recent years (2018+) that all the art I've seen of it has started to veer towards the loony genderkweer headcanons and the like.
